I have a polar with the watch. It was a pain in the *kitten* with gloves but I tried either wrapping it around my bra strap or tank top and that worked alright. Only had it switch to watch mode once.

Enjoyed these!

Try box squats. Just search on bodybuilding.com

I feel strong and sexy! It's empowering to get in there and lift heavy with the men. Actually had one of the super nice bodybuilders complimenting me on my form tonight along with a couple of tips to be even better. He said its sexy to see real women squatting :)

I've done several of these since the beginning of the year and loved them all! Although some more than others. Having a personal trainer was great help in getting comfortable with more exercises. Especially if you're considering weight lifting. Mine taught me all the power building moves like dead lifts, weighted squats,…

Absolutely riveting! Let's avoid all of these companies and raise foods in our own gardens! Because everyone has time to do it also everyone should have adequate space. *eye roll and sigh Farmers are allowed to choose what they grow. Non-GMO options are readily available and grown in abundance in some areas. I'm all for…

I agree with the ON people. I get mine from bodybuilding.com. They have the best prices on 2 pound tubs. Haven't tried the double chocolate but the milk chocolate and the chocolate malt ones are really good. Vanilla is good too for adding fruit too. Cookies and cream is nice as well but I would avoid the caramel fudge…

True story! My lifting partner and I need to shave our girls now! It can be kind of time consuming and none of our cute little workout shirts look good anymore. But...on a more serious note "lifting heavy" for women means lifting heavy for YOU! If the Barbie bells are challenging keep at it! If you're benching 100+ keep…

Thanks for the supportive comments! I'm glad we can be an inspiration to someone. We still have a long way to go but we're doing it the healthy way and having fun while doing it. Splitting a trainer is definitely one of the better decisions we have made.

Good for you! You look awesome btw

I tried the rinse and condition with mine but as it's really straight and thick it got pretty nasty the next day. I prefer dry shampoo. I like the mousse kind best but the spray works too.

What I meant by using lighter weights was use lighter weights for a time to give muscle memory a chance to help get form right. Form is the most important thing. Otherwise, you will hurt yourself. Oftentimes quite severely.

wswilliams put it really well! I have to agree with him on form and lighter weights for sure. If you're competitive like me, you'll try to best your personal best every time and I've learned that it can be very detrimental to form. I have to remind myself of this every time I'm in the squat rack! lol. Also, getting enough…

New Rules of Lifting for Women would be a good place to start. It does a really good job of explaining why women should lift and eat a higher protein diet. Also explains why each exercise is done and tips to keep good form. I have it on my kindle and use it for reference. There's also a group on here that's good. They have…

Tight 42DD to a loose 38DD now in 20 pounds. Still have quite a ways to go but I hope I settle around a 34-36D. That's where I was at when I was my smallest but I wasn't weight lifting then so who knows.

I'm not done yet but I've been lifting heavy since November but doing it very seriously with a partner and pt since February. Down 20 pounds and almost 3 pant sizes and 2 shirt sizes. Very tight 18 to loose 14. Also Xxl tops to regular large in fitted tops. Not sure about body fat percentage, we're retesting next week.…

Put all of the jeans I have shrunk out of in a box and have them to my mother-in-law to take to work to sell. Should have the money for a new pair of goal jeans!

I'll give it a shot. Any motivation helps!

Same here. I have to focus on pushing from the balls of my feet.

I love my ft4. I was a little leery about the chest strap to begin with too. However, once you get it on you don't even feel it. And the band it comes with is very flexible as far as size goes. It's really helped me to track my exercise calories and it's nice to be able to take a peek at your watch and get in those extra…

Well this makes me feel better about what I'm paying to see mine. A cousin and I went in together for a personal trainer and we're each paying $25 an hour for a once-per-week one hour session. Also weekly weigh ins. We did our first workout this week and I do have to say it was one of the best sessions I've had in a few…

I recently bought one to more accurately track my calories burnt and let me tell you...those cardio machines lie! Sometimes they're higher and sometimes they're lower. Also, really helps as the above person said to be able to see if you are in the "magic" zone. I have a Polar ft4 and it beeps when I'm above or below my…
