If you do decide to confront the mom and just ask her why she would say that, because it really hurt you...I would make sure that it is just the two of you. You don't want to get into a situation where the mom feels, "ganged up on", she might become defensive. Also you will have to consider that maybe the mom was just…

I have a teeny bit more than 50, but feel free to add me too!! I'm currently 45 and I've been on MFP since March but didn't get motivated until about last week!!! LOL!! Finally starting to get some good motivating friends!! Would love to have more!!

Bump...I have a nice container of fresh strawberries and a nice new container of protein powder....

I was told (and have read it in various recipes) that if you soak it in milk for an hour before cooking, it makes the chicken really moist. Some recipes say buttermilk...and some just plain ole milk!!

I joined MFP in March...it wasn't until 3 days ago that I was finally "ready" to start my new healthy living. Sometimes it takes just visiting the forums, making friends who will support you, then suddenly you are so inspired to start!! That was my secret!!

Another idea I saw on a recipe site before was to take a muffin pan, spray with non-stick spray, add eggs and whatever meat or veggies you want, and bake until done. You can then freeze individual portions for later consumption. If you don't want to eat a whole egg, this also works with egg whites...you can use lean meats…

Another thing you could try would be to go on the internet, type in the name of the restaurant and the salad, and see if anyone has posted a "copy cat" recipe.

LOL!! 1200 for breathing and waking up!! A true statement, but it made me laugh!!

Bumpity Bump!! Will have to try these!!

Where I am now (in my life) I have very supportive friends/family, who don't question when I say, "no thankyou". There was a time (earlier in my life) when I had the opposite problem though. Instead of telling me I didn't eat "enough", I had people watching me like a hawk and telling me why I "shouldn't" eat something,…

I was doing a "Primal" Paleo version. (My body doesn't react well to grains) My best advice is to research, research, research...and like a lot of others here will tell you, everyone will have a different opinion of what is and isn't allowed. I eat, dairy, and some rice, and carby veggetables, except for corn, but mostly…

You can do it!!

I took a quick look at your food diary. I think that if your system is sensitive to sodium, that could be your problem. The biggest offender in your diet is the lunchmeat, especially the pastromi (sorry if I spelled that wrong), because it is very high in sodium. I would cut out all processed lunch meats from your diet. If…

That diet has been around more than 30 years, and I have to agree it is a fad. It's not a healthy diet, and who could keep that up...As soon as the 3 days were done, people would just eat more to make up for starving themselves for 3 days!!

(You cannot go by un-prepared) 3/4 of one cup (prepared), which would equal around 6oz which is approx 170g, is only 150 calories. Remember when rice is cooked it puffs up. So what your uncooked portion will actually balloon up about 3 times when cooked. Anotherwords that 150g uncooked, will be about 450(ish) cooked, so…

You know...I just saw this on a Facebook group that I joined. I'm always leary of any so-called "miracle" cure. Especially when it costs like $50!! If I hear of anyone (I know) trying it, I'll pass on the info.

Hi Lenore, I just turned 45 and I too am an emotional eater. Like you, this journey has been hard for me too!! Trying very hard to change my ways. Eat healthier, exercise, vitamins, etc... Also could use some friends. Feel free to add.

Hi Abigail, I'm a 45 year old single lady, who also emotionally eats. It's a very difficult thing to get over. Eventually I will like to have lost around 70 lbs, but I'm trying to take them in 10 lb increments. I like your attitude, and I agree with it. Please feel free to add me, I'd love more MFP friends to share the…

Even with the "calories" issue aside...she would definately be ingesting too much sodium, if that's all she's eating. Sadly, I've known people like this too, and like others here have said, you can't change some people, you can only pray for them...

Going to start making some of these Paleo recipes that I've collected, and try to implement them into my life. If any of you are actually Paleo, please let…

Sounds awesome...will definately try!!

It also might just be that specific person...what I mean...I try to "balance" my day with healthy food: meat, dairy, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. I throw in a little tiny bit of maybe not so good stuff occassionally. When I'm being totally good, i eat my food and I eat until I'm full, and I think that I must have met my…

I don't have any actual diseases, but I did have digestive issues. I started Paleo about 2 weeks ago, and have noticed a considerable difference. I think I'm called Paleo Primal, because I do eat some dairy. But I've changed to all grass fed meats/cheeses/dairy whenever possible. I also think I may have a sensitivity to…
