  • sriracha sauce for me has zero calories....
  • This. I also always log those that are pre-prepared (taco spices, etc).. But I use dried spices and I never log them because unless I'm following a recipe I don't actually count how much I put on. If i'm logging a recipe, yes, I do log them.
  • People doing IF actually lift heavy during their fasting period and they have no problems. I don't weight heavy yet (working on that!) but I do it during fasting days... I see no issues or whatever.
  • I'm doing IF and I'm able to do my whole gym routine during my fast days where I eat 500 calories... And so far I haven't had any problems and sometimes I even do more because of the amount of energy I have! It's all in the food choices for those days.. If you keep balanced and focused in lean protein, vegetables and…
  • i either get my chocolate craving with greek yogurt with splenda and cocoa or I manage to fit into my macros and calories for the day a frappuchino... I love that a light mocha frappuchino has less calories than a snickers... (obviously light and without cream..). It's a good exchange for me! Edit to add: Also, I found out…
  • THIS. I didn't start losing weight until I became discipline enough to count ALL my calories and join (and go) to a gym. People ask me and I always tell them the same.. You need dedication and discipline in anything in your life, including losing weight,
  • Second this...
  • I'm using the IF 5:2 (this week is 4:3 because next week I won't be able to because of holidays!). Is it for everyone? No. Is it working for me? Yes! It creates an overall weekly deficit and for me it's easier to manage if I can include during my diet social dinners, some drinks, and frappuchinos. Will I go back to my old…
  • I don't think that there are any tips than the general things that I'm sure you know by now (eat less and move more). - Don't put on excuses.. Start doing some exercise now! Walking, youtube, make the commitment and join a gym (for me, if I pay for it, that makes me want to go every single day more than if it's free). Do…
  • I lived in UK (Edinburgh) for one year... And no.. I still needed my packages of Mexican food to deal with my cravings (one over December and another one during summer). I still remember my excitment over the instant fideos soup...
  • In Mexico we eat a lot of spicy food, including but not inclusive cayenne pepper... Mexico Obesity Rate Surpasses The United States', Making It Fattest Country In The Americas: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/09/mexico-obesity_n_3567772.html I think something is not right in this picture... hmmmm Oh yeah...
  • I honestly think it's not balanced... You're not eating enough calories, I don't see any vegetables (Fiber!!) and two eggs and probably a glass of milk for protein? I also think you're focusing more in carbs (fruits are carbs too! and popcorn!) and less in filling protein for muscle and energy.. You might be losing weight…
  • Me too... :(. But it's my body type.. I'm a pear, so the first thing that I lose when I start losing weight is my shoulders and my boobs.. then it moves to my stomach and at the very end my legs my change a little bit haha.
  • Depends on each person... I don't know why people don't understand that each body is different, and what may work for some, may not work for others. Personally, I used to follow the "eat 5 to 6 meals a day to keep the metabolism up" but it never helped me... I always ended up being hungrier and eating more when I did that…
  • I officially joined MFP in February this year but I basically ignored it. I got back here in May and I barely used it correctly. However, at the end of June reality hit me and I saw that I wasn't losing a lot (or at all!) with my "plan" and that I was being lazy. I became triggered with my colleages who were working out…
  • I mix IF with 5:2 but mostly because I found out that I snack less when I don't have breakfast. I know that for some people it may work different, and I respect that but for me this is what works. Although I have an overall average of 1200 a week (more or less) I do eat to my maintance leve during Feast days... I don't try…
  • I love greek yogurt and it helps me a lot.. Not low fat.. the normal fat.. I eat it either with fruit and splenda, with a bit of muesli and fruit or with this type of jam that I made with gooseberries and honey... Very yummy!
  • bump for later!
  • I'm from Mexico and right now I'm living in Switzerland... What I miss? Good, homemade salsas! Green, red, pico de gallo, taquera.. Anything that is actually spicy! I also miss terribly the Mexican cheeses (specially the queso fresco and panela, and Oaxaca too!) so fresh and so much healthier than the Swiss version (though…
  • So I guess if you add cayenne pepper to the food in a sensible diet and with exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.. Yes, the cayenne pepper will work! And that, I can prove it to you!
  • And the vision problems... I freaked out when she said that she felt like the light of the computer was blinding her.. I mean.. come on.!! And I want to bet how long she managed to keep the 42 pounds lost.. And in Christmas? Yeah, I don't think so.
  • Omg.. that was awful to read!!
  • Instead of fasting, why don't you do the IF 16/8? Basically you skip lunch and you stop eating at 8 (so you have to eat in an 8 hours window). It helps you with the discipline, but it's not as tough as a complete fast. When I started doing the IF I realized two things: 1. I don't die if I don't have breakfast, I actually…
  • Take out the bacon and insert feta cheese and a bit of onion and you have my favorite egg white style..!
  • I second this. I used to snack A LOT. And since I started the IF that I can control my hunger and that I have to respect my designated eating hours. I do not starve myself, but I needed discipline to learn that I had eating hours and all... It's been working like magic! I also recommend a bigger lunch, maybe include a…
  • I love berries,, I think they're my favorite as I can add them to yogurt, cereal, etc. Watermelon, melon, avocado (yes, it is a fruit!), pears. I'm a bit fan of apples but not too much, I like them spicy though (with lime juice and tajin powder). Fruits are high in sugar, so unless you're cutting sugars on purpose, they…
  • Women eat 500 and men eat 600. At the end, the week total should lead to an average of 1200 cals per day... This is my second week (due to holiday's next week, I'm doing 4:3) and although it requires planning (mostly for the fast days), it's easier than everyday restriction. I also enjoy that during "feast" days I can have…

  • Pre plan your meals and prepare them before going to work, etc.. What I do is that I plan my meals for the next day before hand with the amount of calories I want / need to have for the day, and then I follow the exact measurements for my meals. It makes everything easier and it's like following a recipe... That also gives…
  • I love hot rice with tuna and mayo on top and a lot of shirasha!... The mayo kinda melts a bit and it's yummy.. It's been a while since I had it. I also love cucumber, watermelon, mango, carrots, jicama, etc, with lime juice and chili powder (My favorite is Tajin), I asked my sister to bring me some of the chili powder and…
