  • Only by my wife, but thats ok ! :-) I have had a few nice comments from my colleagues and friends, but I certainly wouldn't count it as flirting. It would be nice to be seen as attractive to others, even though I'm happily married -just as an ego boost...
  • Stop running, ice up and rest. then go and see your Dr or Physio. You may be carrying a slight strain or other injury and over compensating resulting in the high degree of pain you describe.
  • Inspirational! You should be very proud of yourself, and the dedication you have shown!
  • With reference to the example given in the first paragraph, the article seems to have completely ommited to credit the calories consumed from having a "healthy lunch", as opposed to a burger and chips. The friend could still eat a "healthy lunch" and consume 300ish cals. It is the difference between the healthy and…
  • Superb effort!!!!! I bet you are a very proud and happy man! Well done!
  • Wow guys, Thanks for all the replies. The great thing I take from it all, it that you are all so consistant in your advice, which comes from experience. Thank you! I have just been for a swim - only 750 meters but feel a little better already. I will also walk to the train station home from work ( 2 miles) rather than…
  • Well done on completing your first 5k! Good time too. I ran my first 5k ( about 6 months ago) after completing C25K in 32mins. I now run the local PARKRUN 5k most Saturday mornings when I'm not running other events http://www.parkrun.org.uk/bushy/home. My PB is now 22.31. I'm hoping to get under 22mins before the end of…
  • Do not worry, you clearly have the heart and desire to improve, therefore you will. My first organised 5k took me 32mins. Less than 4 months on, I'm doing 5k in 22 mins with lots more improvement to come - because I believe in myself. You will get there, because you have already achieved the distance!!. As for your…
  • Keep going at it. I finished c25k in March. Now running 10k regularly, finished my first 10 miler on Monday, have joined a running club, and training for the Windsor half marathon. Believe me, I'm not a natural runner, and certainly would not have achieved anything without MFP and C25K. You will get there, just believe :-)
  • Hi Welocme to MFP. I have found in my 3 months uusing it to be a great tool with great people willing to help give your the motivational lift just when you need it. Feel free to add me if you need a MFP friend. Niallse:smile:
  • Hi sounds like you're having an interesting weight loss / lifestyle change journey! Mine is not so interesting, but were all doing this to make ourselves happier and hopefully healthier! Add me as a frind if you like. Another Surreyite ( Niallse)
  • Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice. The "eating your exercise calories" seems counter intuitive, but clearly it does seem to work, and many many people advise it. I think i will give it ago. Vicky14174 - thanks for your point regarding opening my diary, however i'm affraid i dont know how to. I will…
  • This is such a sad story. What sort of parent would do that to their own child? I think it’s the mother’s inferiority complex and probably frustrated childhood that drives her to do this to her own kid. Totally sad. I hear it all the time, and can even see it with my own 3 children but "kids are growing up too fast these…
