  • If you want to be precise, then get a food scale, When I got my food scale, I realized that for osmethings, I was pretty accurate, for some things over and for some things under what the actual calories per serving size were.
  • No it won't. And no I don't usually eat back my exercise calories.
  • ZING. If we're talking healthyish options I'd say hummus, babaganoush, etc... And yes CHEESE!!! I think I'm craving a nice block of brie right now.
  • Sugars are a type of carbohydrate, so while both go up, you probably won't exceed your carbohydrate target. Also keep in mind that sugars actually means "added sugars" It's generally not something that you need to worry about if your sugar sources are fruits and vegetables. Of course the caveat is that if you're diabetic,…
  • Are you feeling sluggish on your runs and such? If not I wouldn't worry at all about it. Even if you are though, I'm not sure that I'd necessarily blame your weight. The only thing that I might caution about is a slim maybe if you were trying to BQ or something of that nature. I tend to gain 5-8 pounds at the peak of…
  • I'll go "over" on my calories for the day but it might actually be a good thing for me.
  • Assuming this is serious. Don't worry. It could be weight gain due to sodium retention, water weight, stress related, whatever. If not, then well :p
  • It definitely can be done. I started running in a Kayano 17 with an orthotic and now I run in the Altra One, Merrell Bare Access, etc... I transitioned slowly, increasing the proportion of the miles that I was putting on the lowered hell drop shoes along with using my more traditional trainer.
  • I you really need it you can use a heated paper clip and poke a hole on the toe nail. That's a common way to do it if the pain is bad. That said the toe nail is going to fall off/be replaced by a new one. And yes I know how you feel. I currently have one and have had it for a few months now.
  • Agreed III
  • I've long since adjusted to the early wake ups for working out and the gym, but the first few days/nights, I had to use an alarm, but right now I'm alarm free.
  • This. Our bodies aren't as stupid as people think. While it's true that hungry isn't all ways the best indicator, I would say in many cases it is. Unless you are malnourished, anorexic, or in some other state of compromised health, you can listen to your body. That's what I did to lose most of my weight.
  • As long as it fits your macros, it's fine. Personally I wouldn't advise just eating rice for the whole day, but I'm sure you knew that.
  • This or in other words, when they hurt you feet, legs, knees, whatever.
  • If you really can't deal with giving it up or going with a lower calorie'd version, I'd just make it work within your macros.
  • I own a lot of tech tees from races I've done and wear them often. They're comfy, moisture wicking and no less outlandish than a typical cotton tee. So I wear them.
  • hard boiled egg, carrot sticks, banana, peach.
  • Chew gum, drink water, go for a walk, think about why I'm doing what I'm doing.
  • tagging this thread for later reading.
  • Move on. Life has it's challenges. It's normal. You'll have good days and bad, even after joining MFP.
  • I definitely check it for accuracy, as it can alter your numbers if it's not accurate, sometimes fairly drastically. One of my main reasons for going MFP was to log my food. If that's not accurate, then it sort of kills the point for me being here.
  • smh. If we were talking just fructose with nothing else, I'd give it more of a thought but no.
  • Maybe i used the wrong word, but when a lot of people say "I'm going on a diet" or something similar, they do in my experience mean a temporary change. I realized pretty quick that for it to stick, it had ot be more than just a quick fix.
  • I log my food daily, i that's what you're looking for. My diary is also open, but as you might see it's pretty boring.
  • Of course it counts, If you're trying to log it, it might get tricky, but you did burn calories walking.
  • I've said it before I'll say it again, dieting by it's very nature implies/assumes something temporary, which is to say when it ends, you'll go back to doing what you were doing. I know it's arguing semantics, but I prefer the term lifestyle change, as it's more long term and it's more indicative of what I believe should…
  • Honestly, calf pain doesn't say much, at least to me. Yes it could be that you just need time, but it could also indicate an injury. Is it actually painful or is it sore?
  • I'm with Carson on this one. Maybe I'm lucky, but in all the tracks I go to, even the HS track there are posted rules/track etiquette. And to be quite honest, it doesn't matter if you're the first one there. If you're going the wrong way, it's still the wrong way. Most people I've seen even with out the rules, they know…
  • Sometimes I ignore, sometimes I say hi. Uusally I'm in my own little world when I'm running. That said, I generally see maybe 3-4 people on average on a run.
  • I agree with all that has been said. While I do run with earphones on, they are low enough that I can easily hear background noise. That said, the delivery people, garbage collectors and the like all seem to know who I am, given that I run pretty much at the same time during the week. I would also note the assessment that…
