Replace them when your shoes hurt your running. For me that has varied from under 300 to over 1000 miles.

This. All I know is, I used running for most of my weight loss and I'm happy with that.
-
Based on the information given, food 1, but I'd be interested on the micronutrients as well.

Different strokes. As far as having MFP teach you something, honestly, that depends. I'd say if you're a person who needs to log everyday for an infinite period of time, then you've just traded one crutch for another. For me, I was able to lose weight without calorie counting, but this site gave me a sharper and objective…

Everywhere. Safeway, Costco, Lucky, Sprouts, Whole Foods, a couple farmer's markets, Marina Food, Ranch 99, etc....

Love this thread and given that I have a 10+ miler planned tomorrow, I think I'll be good.

Brussel sprouts, carrots, plums or prunes., berries.

\ You, and other's must realize that lower in calories, doesn't necessarily mean healthier.

Let me tell you. Whn I first went to the gym, I used the elliptical. 5 minutes and I was covered in sweat. And now 3 years later, earlier today, I hit the 40 mile mark for the week.
-
I can't speak for anyone else, but I ran 13 miles today. I really hope that I burned more than 500 calories.
-
Probably not. I lost most of my weight without doing it and I've always thought of MFP as just another tool to help me become more ware, but I don't want to become obsessive about calorie counting.

Unless you're diabetic, insulin resistant or it somehow screws with your sleep cycle, I call bollocks. FWIW, I've had fruit right before I've fallen asleep and I was fine.

I'll follow this if only for the reviews.

Yes.

What most people don't get is that it can and does take over your life. For those who say "I'm happy to have this." does your throat constrict if you think you might go over calories? Is it bad enough to give you a panic attack? Would you punish yourself for days for this if you did go out? For most people here, most…

I'll tag this so I can see where it goes later. Sometimes I say I run, sometimes I say I jog. I usually use it in terms of perceived effort. I've jogged a 7:45 mile, but I've also jogged an 11:00 mile.

It's like salad. The coffee itself is low calorie. Go look up the nutritional information for black coffee or espresso/ It's always the toher stuff; cream, sugar, syrup, chocolate that makes it a calorie bomb. So unless you have other health complications I don't see the need. FWIW, it's not healthy, but I can have…

Just as a side comment, I know and know of people doing diets younger than 14-15. And just as another aside, Atkins has been around since around the 1970s, so I'm sure there are more out there.

This. And even though the OP didn't go there, has he seen a picture of Usain Bolt? Here's my personal take, I enjoy running and I don't want at physique where my muscles are overly defined.
-
I did a 15 miler on a treadmill a year and a half ago and nearly got cabin fever.
-
I could never do that. I need rest days every 4-5 days, especially when my mileage peaks. But good luck to you!
-
Yep. It's all about balance and your own personal goals.
-
Fitness first, then looks.
-
I didn't realize this. Thanks for the info.
-
I ran n 18 miler on a tread mill and nearly went insane. Good luck if you're serious.

As a person who is also in recovery from anorexia, I have to ask. Do you have any foods that are 100% safe? What I mean by tyhat is, regardless of how much you eat, they don't trigger anything for you, ie: no panic attacks, shutdowns, or anything like that? It might be useful. I know it has been for me and others.…

Even though this is as old thread and I detest necroposting, that's actually pretty interesting.

If anything, I consume a gel. I'm a bit atypical as I like to consume it around the halfway point/turn around.

The fact that I only had 2 adult beverages tonight.
