Yes! Big anime fan here. =D My favorite anime is Eureka Seven. (I usually prefer gundam type anime.) I haven't read manga in a long while, but the last series I did enjoy was Hellsing.

I don't have tachycardia, but it runs in my family. =( I do already struggle with my heart rate sometimes, but it mostly acts up when I'm sick. When I exercise, I take it really easy just to keep my heart rate in a safe range or else it'll sky rocket to 200 bpm easily. I've noticed proper breathing really helps keeps my…

I have a co-worker who is like 105 lbs. She offers me a food I used to love, knowing that I gave it up months ago. (White bread soaked in oil, then thrown on a grill with even more oil.) Then when I have a single french fry, she says, " Isn't that cheating?" I'm not on a diet, I'm making healthier choices, so no! It's like…

No shame in eating fast food. If you look up the calories on here before you go (or if you have the app on a phone), you can make a more informed decision and control the damage. But plz add me! I never get rid of any friends. ;)

Hundredpushups.com should have links on the site to their other sites, which are for crunches, lunges, squats, etc.

Wow! That site says my body fat is only 23.3%. Hmmmm... bookmarking that!
-
I agree with bluemist. It's not the most accurate way to measure body fat, but it does give a good idea what sort of place you're at. My scale varies within a 1-1.5% range, but I know I'm at roughly 25.5%.

Brussel sprouts in butter sauce.

Just over 300 minutes a week. I wish it were more, but it's better than the 0 minutes I used to exercise before.

Bartend/Manage/Serve at a small local restaurant.

1) Losing weight 2) I use 2 5 lb weights. (I just started lifting and I'm weak.) I do 2 sets of 15 and take my time. I always work my legs, abs, and arms. (I know I need to add some back exercises.) I switch up my exercises each training session and pick 6. Ex: Backwards lunges, crunches, bicep curls, squats, supermans,…

^^^ This. Exercise sounds like the way to go.

What do you have your calorie goal set to? You shouldn't have to worry about your calorie deficit. You set what you want your weight loss to be, and this site tells you how many calories to eat. It's already creating a deficit for you. If you eat your goal every day, you -will- lose weight, even without exercise. You only…

I am 5'3", small-framed, and was 126 when I started on here. I would definitely be careful about eating less than 1200 calories. I did this for a week or two, and while I lost weight, it was too much too fast. My body was about to go into starvation mode. We don't have much to lose to begin with, so I would say focus…

5'3" finally. (I grew an inch in college. Yay!) Yes, weight definitely shows more on short people. My twin sister is somehow 5'4" and even though we weight the same, she always looks smaller than me. And is it just me, or does that extra weight also seem to be around our tummies?
-
I've mostly done walking and -tons- of step aerobics. My thighs went from 22" to 21", which was the last place I wanted to lose. It's also trimmed my hips from 40" to 38.5". I'm 5'3" and 120 lbs.

I chose active. I work in a restaurant, and while I'm probably more lightly active when I bartend, I walk a minimum of 5 miles every day at work and closer to 10 on a busy day. It's a small local grill with a skeleton crew for the daytime, so I often host/serve/expo and break a sweat every single day.

Good luck! I'm a bridesmaid for my future sister-in-law next month, which was my initial motivation for getting fit. We can do this!

Ooooohhhhhh.... I wanna know! I'm terrible about having just one pair of tennis shoes and keeping them for four years at a time. :ohwell:

Personally, my weight fluctuates too much each day to know if it's my diet or something else to blame. I weigh myself once a week. If I'm worried I'm not on track, I'll weigh in every 3 or 4 days, but take it with a grain of salt. I'd say it definitely depends on the person.

As long as your meals are well balanced, it shouldn't be an issue. My only concern would be if there are nutrients, vitamins, etc that those meals are missing, you could accidentally deprive your body of something it needs, like iron or magnesium. Of course, you could just take multivitamins and probably be fine.

Gender: Female Age: 22 Activity Level: Active (Mostly from my job and some extra exercise on the side) Calories eaten per Day: 1200 What type of diet you follow: I don't give myself any rules. I stick to fish and veggies when I can, but I eat what I want. Average weekly weight loss: 1 lb

I certainly wouldn't set your calorie goal to lose weight. So yes, I'd say set it to maintenance. Especially if you decide to start toning up, you'll need all those calories for building/healing your muscles.

22 here. Having more friends on here our age would be great!

Your size sounds healthy if not slim for your height. Keep in mind that you are still young. From my observations, most young teens tend to carry what extra fat they have in their midsection for a few years before they grow taller. This could be the case for you. I grew an inch in college! But I wouldn't worry about it…

A warm welcome to MFP and Nashville and I will welcome you with open arms. =D You're gonna love it down here in TN.

It sounds to me like you're doing everything right. There could be something you're missing, but 4 pounds in 4 weeks is not bad. It's actually safe and healthy to lose weight at that rate. Keep doing what you're doing girl. =)

You could always try soy milk instead of skim milk. (I think it's lower in calories, but not sure.) Also, if you're getting a drink with flavored syrup in it, ask if they have a sugarfree version of the syrup. (Most places do for popular flavors.) Obviously, get the smallest size they offer, pass on the whipped cream, and…

Good call taking off half the cheese! I work at a restaurant, and I think the problem you had was that it was a local cafe. Places like that (and where I work) are not run by a corporate center so they can say and do whatever they please. "Healthy" could mean under 1,000 calories, and there's no one to keep them…

Mine is "suck it up!" It's hard to do sometimes when you feel so justified, like being too tired after work to exercise, but it stops a pity party in its tracks.
