I have a question for those of you who have lost a lot but still have a lot to go. And it has to do with body image. I have now lost a little over 50 pounds. And I'm thrilled. I think I look so much better and I'm much more confident and it's more fun to go clothes shopping. But on the other hand, I'm still at least 50…

I'd say that's progress! FANTASTIC!

Is this normal? I've never heard of that... ouch...

Kaye and Robin - Happy belated birthdays! Tom - I added you on Fitbit! For anyone else interested, my profile is at http://www.fitbit.com/user/248FGQ Toots - I'm going to play devil's advocate just a little bit because of my own experience. Sometimes, the gentle touch doesn't do it. How many times have I been told I need…

Hello, everyone! Just coming by to give an update, then I'll go back and try to catch up on everyone's lives. I've had a very hectic couple of weeks, going out of town 3 times in two weeks for work! Talk about an eating struggle. I did really well the first two times, but the last one, I was just tired of the effort of…

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I just had to stop in and announce that as of this morning, I HAVE LOST 50 POUNDS!!!! I went to Khol's last night to get new bras. It's amazing how good a bra that fits right feels! i also bought a couple of dresses and a skirt and a top. I am now in 16's, with an occassional 14 or 18, depending…

kaye -- great news! Hopefully it won't be long until I join you! Helena -- how dare a nurse talk to your mom over the phone about it possibly being terminal when the results aren't even in yet! I consider that unethical... I had a pretty good weekend, got a lot done around the house, though I didn't get other things done…

Get the Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt. It has fruit, and it's yummy! Under doctor's orders, I stay under 75 g of carbs a day and I rarely even get close to it. Breakfast is usually eggs, turkey sausage, or a protein shake == Premiere Nutrition, only 4 carbs. Lunch is something like cheese, lunchmeat or turkey pepperoni…

Happy Friday, everyone! Helena, try not to worry too much until you know there's something to worry about! I had a breast biopsy a few years ago for a lump or mass or whatever and it turned out just to be calcium deposits. Later the doctor asked me if I would have preferred they waited on the biopsy and just kept an eye on…

Hello, all! Re: Surgery. Again, not bashing anyone who took that route, you have to do what's best for you. But last month when I went to see my doctor, I was feeling kinda down. I hate hit a plateau and I just got off a miserable TOM and was still feeling bloated, etc. I told her "I need a cheerleader!" She pulled out a…

Thanks, Robin! I didn't MEAN to go off my meds, it's just that I take them at night and for a few days I was getting home really late and I pretty much just climbed into bed when I got home and forgot. Now I keep them by the bed so I will see them. I used to keep them in the kitchen so I would see them when I made dinner…

Thanks for the welcome back, Kaye! I have been doing so well for a year since I started the meds, and this is the first time I've gotten sloppy and forgotten to take them for more than one day. I'd been doing so well, I even talked to my doctor about reducing the dosage, but she said she'd like to keep me at this level for…

Sorry, kah! I didn't read your post before posting my ideas and inadvertantly said many of the same things! Great minds....

May challenga idea -- I'm not a huge fan of weight loss goals because sometimes you can do everything right and the scale still doesn't move. So I like to focus on healthy activities that can lead to weight loss. Since it's Spring and sort of a time for renewal, what about something like... 1) Try a new healthy recipe (and…

Hi, guys! Remember me? I have been MIA on the boards, but have mostly been keeping up with logging. It's been a really tough month. I had a birthday, which was nice and I did a whole day of pampering -- massage, facial, mani/pedi, hair cut and color. I was at the spa from 9:30 am until 4:30! And yes, they served me lunch…

Talk to your priest and see if he will support your visits with the psychiatrist. If he supports you, it should put your mom's concerns to rest.

@Jsnuggles - I'm on Duskwood Alliance and I have some alts on Earthen Ring Horde, but haven't played them in ages. @mowmow I guess I'm not the typical MMO player because I really don't care about the social aspect of it. My boyfriend lives in California (I'm in Kentucky), so we log in and play together as a way to spend…

My boss just made a comment about how much weight I've lost. I haven't really talked about my dieting at work, so it was really rewarding to have her notice. Of course, it only took 40 pounds before anyone commented! LOL! karenleona - just take one little step. One of the things I love about dieting is the sense of control…

@Jess - yep, anyone can join! Welcome! I didn't make my step goal yesterday because a new video game that I've been looking forward to came out, so of course, I rushed home to install it and played until midnight! But that's just because it was the first day (it's an MMO) and from now on, I don't get to play until I get my…

Lin, that's amazing! You totally rock! You can bet that if/when I ever see that day, I'll be taking out an ad in the newspaper, making a video on YouTube, shouting it from the mountaintops! ***happy dance***

Hi, everyone! Impossible to catch up on everything, so I'll just pick up here :) My April goal is walking at least 7500 steps a day. It's a challenge they're doing at work, and it's more than double what I normally do! Yesterday was the first day and I did it. I don't remember the exact number, but I know it's over 7600…

I'm on a doctor supervised diet which is no more than 25% carbs, or 75 grams of carbs/day. My doctor said if I exercise, I can eat more, but I don't get more carbs, I still have to stay under 75 g. Bummer, eh? But it's true, after a couple of weeks, you won't crave them anymore. Oh, and that's net carbs, which is carbs…

Hi! Drive-by post to let you know I'm still alive, just super crazy busy! Will try to stop back later...

You may not need to lose any more weight to get more definition, just do more weight training.

Great news! I talked to the doctor's office to see if my bloodwork had come back. Now, the main thing I was interested in was the fasting insulin level, since that's what was so high last time. The ideal range is 0-15 mcIU/ml. When I was tested in December, mine was 25. In the test I had last week? (Drum roll, please!) 13!…

@Alison - you are my hero! @Marsha - I'll be thinking about you! Think positive thoughts! Research shows that a positive attitude helps with recovery. @trhjrh - I reset my tracker when I came back after a long time (and 50 pounds gained). It keeps me from seeing all the weight I've lost as just regaining ground. It was a…

Have you talked to a doctor?

It's a good news/bad news kind of day. I had a dentist appointment this morning and that always stresses me out. And my mouth hurts. And my jaw, though better with the night guard, is still sore. And it's rainy and gray and icky outside. So I'm just feeling kinda headachy and blah. On the other hand, I am down a little and…
