Hello, all! I created a space here on MFP called Big & Tall. Anyone is welcome. We swap stories, inspiration, results, goals, workouts, and funny stories about the perils of being "Big & Tall". Check us out in the Community Section! I'm 6'2" 315, started at 370 on 1/1/13 and joined MFP after I lost some inital weight.

Hoo boy! Busted another plateau today. I was stuck at 317-316 for 2-3 weeks, and I weighed in this morning at 310.6! That makes 55 lbs down since 1/1/13. The real problem now is that I've only gone down 1 pant size. 48 to 46. 46's are the perfect fit right now, which is slightly discouraging, considering I've lost 55 lbs.…

How's everyone's workouts/diet plans going? I still have issues with going out after bowling and having a few drinks. I still don't eat/drink even close to my maintenance, but i'm definitely not sticking to my 1200 calories on Thursday nights. Other than that, I kill it every morning at the gym. I started a new routine…

It's a mashup between Capn Crunch and a Donkey. I have had this username since 1998. I did a lot of drugs in college.

I wear size 15 EEEE. ShoesXL.com has a great selection. I had to wear size 17s for my brother's wedding because they didn't have a good selection. Clown shoes indeed.

Keep kicking *kitten*, everyone!

I have a friend who is about 5" shorter than I am, and skinny and bishie. We discussed cosplay for this year's Otakon in Baltimore. Hopefully, I'll be down another 30lbs by the end of summer, so... 1: Kisame (me) and Itachi (my buddy) (Naruto Shippuden) 2. Chad(Sado) and Ichigo (Bleach) 3. Shio Sakaki and Kenichi Shirahama…

Keep up the good work, everyone! Small victory: I just knocked off 3 more pounds this week!

Yes, I too love CasualMaleXL (which is now owned by DestinationXL, most stores will be changing names only soon) for all my TALL shirt needs. I buy all my undershirts there because they actually stay tucked in. I also bought the sleeveless reebok shirts. Great, right?
-
Destination XL has decent stuff up to 6XLT. I was able to get two pairs of shorts and some reebok shirts (the wicking kind) for a decent price. I've found that yes, once you drop into a 2X, the selection gets markedly better. I have a long torso (combined with a gut) and need to wear the "T" size in a XXL. It fits my…

I started at 365, started MFP at 346, now at 318. I have another 60-65lbs to lose to reach my goal of 255-260. We can do this!

This is acceptable. Welcome! Got a story to share, or are you keeping the mystery alive with minimal descriptions?

BBQ Competition went great! We finished 54th out of 108 teams. Dead in the middle. Not bad for our first time out. Lots of the mistakes we made are easily correctable, so we have a good feeling about the rest of our competition schedule. Managed to eat decently, too. Drank a lot, but worked really hard all three days, so…

I use this site to count the calories I eat every day. I don't set my macros as well as I should, but I try to get more protein than I need every day because I'm lifting, and I don't eat very many carbs based on calorie content alone. I eat between 1200-1300 calories a day, and I lift 4 times a week, and do cardio 5 times…

Shame, Bigmike. My co worker and I started our own competition team in January. You travel to different cities, and compete against other teams. You are judged not only on taste, but appearance, and tenderness of the meat. You turn in chicken thighs, pork ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. Everything has to be cooked on coal…

Anybody else have a good weekend? I ran a final test run for my BBQ competition team, and the food turned out amazing. We are competition ready. I will be in Salisbury, MD this weekend cooking chicken, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket for a share of $12,000 in prizes. I also managed to lose another 3lbs this week. Got up and…

I'm not a shill for them or anything, they just have the best 'big' selection out there. ShoesXL.com. Check it out.

Second that. I wear size 15s, and thankfully there is a DestinationXL superstore right by my house that has a FANTASTIC shoe selection all the way up to 17 and 18. I spent about $350 in one go, but I got: Brown Rockport Loafers for work, Reebok Crosstrainers for the gym, 2 pairs of Sandals (1 addidas all star slides, 1…

Well done, sir. Keep us posted!

I know I'm knocking back a few tonight. RED, that's cool, right?
-
Killed it in the gym today. In fact, I've killed it all week. hour in the gym each day, and 1300 calories or less each day. hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow.
-
No worries, man. I'm 36. Any other old men on this board?
-
Ok, so tall, pretty girl approved. Welcome! Glad to have you. Trey, I hear you brother. My wife doesn't count her calories.(she is working out and eating better) She brings home food for dinner that she has to know I won't eat. I used to tie my fitness to hers. USED TO. Now, if she wants to stay in bed and sleep instead of…

Welcome, sir. I myself am 6'2", 322lbs. Started this whole journey at 380, started MFP at 356. Stay active, count your calories, drink your water. That's working for me so far. I have been using reddit's lose it and fitness subreddits for workout and food ideas, maybe it will help others?
-
So, has anyone created the Big&Tall group yet? I started this business in Feb of 2013, at 356, my heaviest was easily 375-380. I'm 6'2", and as of March, I just turned 36. I eat 1200-1300 calories a day and workout 5-6 times a week now. I lift 3 or 4 days depending on DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and cardio every…

It is amusing the subtle differences between UK and American English. US versus UK: Truck - Lorry Flashlight - Torch Candy - Sweets And don't get me started about adding 'u's to words that don't need them: Color, flavor, favorite, etc. :) All said I love the British accents. And the British comedy.

Give the poor chap the benefit of the doubt and just come clean. You know he likes you, and you don't feel the same way. The next step is to allow him to process that information and decide if he wants to dial it back, or still be your friend. Blindly cutting the lad off is going to bugger his head right up, he won't know…
