You got this! I have been sleeping terribly the last few nights, can't understand why. I have been missing the gym to try and not be miserably tired for work, and then I just feel worse. I haven't gained or lost a single pound. Gah. Need to fix my sleep and my gym schedules. Either way, I didn't pig out on the 4th, only…

SW: 360lbs, Waist 53in, Chest 55in, Biceps 20in, Calves 20in, Neck 22in. GW: 330lbs, Waist 46in, Chest 52in, Biceps 21in, Calves 21in, Neck 19in I moved into my first house with my wife recently, and the chaos drove our eating habits out the window, resulting in some serious weight gain. Already lost the 1st 15 lbs, the…

Update: Weight down to 350, almost at my goal of 345. Hitting the gym and tracking my food. Resisted the urge to overeat all Memorial Day weekend!

May going well so far. weight went up, but mostly water as I recently moved into my first home with my wife. 2 weeks of canned meals (sodium heavy) and lifting and moving boxes/furniture causes those muscles to retain all sorts of water. Back on my meal plan, still hitting the gym 4-5 times a week, should start to see…

Starting weight 360. Goal weight by May 31st: 345. Goal #1, walk/jog a full 5k at least once a week without stopping. Goal #2 hit the gym 4 times a week, no excuses. Goal #3 Log into MFP every day in May to accurately track my eating, even when it's not perfect.

So sorry that this board seems to have been deserted lately. Had a few slip ups myself, but back on track and feeling great! Glad to see the new members!

Just remember to keep your protein high during heavy training sessions. You can still make progressive strength gains while eating at a deficit. Keep up the good work!

Joined my company's Biggest Loser competition to keep myself honest and motivated during these last 3 months of winter, and I had my first weigh in today, Lost 11 lbs from last week's weigh in. Feels good. Ate clean, got to the gym every day, tracked everything I ate and drank. How's everyone else doing so far this year?

Thanks for the info, great read!

Good to see I wasn't alone in the holiday overindulgence. And I agree, eating clean has made a WORLD of difference in my mood, my sleep, everything. I'm back down 10 of those 20 lbs I gained, and even though I ate crappy over the break, it feels like I'm back on a good weight loss track, and hopefully, I'll finally bust…

Ate like crap over the holidays, now I feel like crap. Up another 10 lbs back to 325.0 Oh well, past is past. Good strong leg day today, followed by strict caloric intake monitoring. Thankfully, I went grocery shopping yesterday and was able to stock the fridge at home and at work with good healthy foods. Still ended the…

Read up on adaptive thermogenesis. When you are big, like most of us here are/were, your body can adapt to a calorie deficit quickly, causing you to stay at the same weight even at a low calorie intake. I'm no doctor, but I saw my weight loss stall after losing 75 lbs, and even at a recalculated TDEE, I didn't lose a pound…

I started at 375 last November, got down to around 305, have put on about 10 lbs and am hovering at 315 right now. Need to keep tighter tabs on my diet. I ate pretty badly when I was sick. I didn't have the energy to go shopping and make homemade meals, so I ordered out a lot. It's in the past, and I can't change it, so I…

Had a minor setback this month. Got a bad head/chest cold and couldn't workout (or breathe, really) and didn't take good care of myself (lot of comfort food while sick), and I found my self back up a few pounds. But, rather than beat myself up about it, I woke up this morning, hit the gym hard, and got right back to…

I'm still here, at least. Lost 1 lb this week. started off strong (literally) with a good heavy back workout today. As soon as I get home to my tape, I'll post my Nov-Dec stats.
-
I can tell you that I never eat back my workouts. I don't add food to my day, regardless of activity level. I do drink on weekends, but as long as I have a net weekly deficit, I thought I was ok. My problem was tracking. I was probably off by 1000 calories a week or more due to inefficient tracking. I've been much more…

I started this in January after a disappointing physical where I weighed in at my highest weight ever, 373 lbs From January 8th on, I started counting calories and exercising regularly. I was eating 1300 calories a day or less over a protein shake for breakfast and 2 balanced meals for lunch and dinner. I lost 70 lbs by…

Ok, so finished my measurements: Current Weight: 310.2 Neck: 18.5" Chest: 54" Bicep: 19" Forearm: 13" Waist: 50" Thigh: 26" Calf: 19"

I have been at the same weight for 3 months now. Just keep tracking, and keep working out. You can do it!
-
I don't have my measuring tape, so I'll do that when I get home. CapnDonkey Height 6'2" Weight: 312.5 lbs

Seitan? May we safely assume you are vegan?

Yeah, I love lifting. I've been using the Strength/Hypertrophy 4x4 split routine for 8 months now, and my linear progression is still going strong. On my heavy days, I'm up to almost 300 lbs bench, 450 squat, and 500 deadlift. 1000lbs club? Yeah right, I'll stop at 1500! My weight hasn't moved in 3 months, but the…

I am going to maintain my workouts for the duration of my vacation next week, but I am not going to restrict my diet. I will make smart choices, but I will drink and eat what I want, when I want. Consider it my re-feed. I'm looking forward to some nice coastal seafood and good southern BBQ.

Down to 303 as of this morning! Finally broke that 305 plateau that I'd been on for 2 months. Also pressed 230lbs for reps on bench, and today I was squatting 400lbs for reps. Feels good man. I already picked out the gym next to my vacation house for next week. I head to Myrtle Beach with the wife and some good friends for…

Keep it up Nate! I have hit a stall, but I am making serious linear progression in all my lifts and my clothes are still falling off. My scale isn't moving, but the measuring tape is showing great progress. Great work everyone, let's keep the progress up even though winter is coming and hibernation mode is usually killer…

Welcome aboard, Nate. I, too, am 6'2" and 36. No kids for me yet, though. Glad to have you here.

For me, I had to re-evaluate my relationship with food. I saw food as a reward, or a pick me up, or sometimes even a right. Once I started really counting what was going into my body weekly, I was shocked. I've hit a plateau after 70lbs total loss since November of 2012, but I've made gains in all my lifts at the gym, and…
-
Yeah, man! I am hovering at 305-307 for the last 1.5 months, and I changed up my workout routine and took more calories out of my diet. I am now eating under 1500 a day to try to break this plateau. Hopefully I'll see a 2 on the scale in about 3 weeks.
-
Congrats on the 299! I have been stuck between 305-310 for 2 months now. Made HUGE strength gains, increased on all my lifts on linear progress. I am going to tweak my diet a bit more to see if I can get the scale moving downward again.

Great feeling! I had to switch to cloth belts for now, since I'm past even the holes I had to punch in my leather belts. I'll buy new ones when I hit 275lbs. That's my shopping reward weight. Until then, it's loose baggy clothes for me.
