That's the thing, cardio IS resistance training. I run, I get tired, I continue, it is all resistance. I run up hills, I am fighting gravity. I run downhills - that may not seem like resistance, but believe me, run too hard down that hill and I will trash my quads, therefore I am resisting. Running, it is resistance and…

I have run a half marathon on the treadmill, but outdoors it is nine miles.

Good luck OP!!!
-
That's why I don't eat it too. I also find it very more-ish, if I start eating it I just crave more and more, therefore I don't start.
-
yay well done OP!!!!!

The body does not go into starvation mode and it most certainly does not hold onto every single pound. This myth really needs to be put to bed it is absolutely ridiculous. To the OP, 1200 calories per day is fine, it is vitally important that the correct nutrients are consumed though.

Cenafan, on a sidenote, where did you get your ticker from? Really good idea those little piccies!!

I have learned that apparently cardio is the devil incarnate, lifting heavy is the only way to go and running will eat all my muscles up. Fortunately, I realize that the same people don't know what they are talking about and I learned how to laugh at them behind my computer screen.

I just start running, providing I don't sprint off, my run is my warm-up. I soon know I am warmed up when I feel I want to run faster. I don't stretch.

So what, it was in the changing room and you are generalising, my own swimming pool changing room is not freezing, nor is the gym I occasionally go to. Personally, if I wanted to walk around, doing my hair, make-up and sorting myself out for half an hour in the nude, I would do so, because at 52 years old, I consider I do…

Our thermostat is set to 21 degrees, if it falls below that indoors, it automatically switches on, no matter what the time of the year is.

I would recommend nothing, but what I definitely would recommend is going to a specialist running shop and getting your running gait analysed and them taking their advice on the correct running shoes, it can save you tons and tons of possible heartache or, God forbid, injury later.
-
OP she was in the changing room not in the middle of the gym floor. If she cannot do her hair and get ready in the nude in the female changing room, where exactly is she supposed to sort herself out lol

To be honest I never do exercise that I dislike, ever. Exercise should be enjoyed, if you do not enjoy it, steer clear. Who told you to cut back the running, who said to reset your metabolism, has your weightloss stopped? There is absolutely nothing wrong with running four times per week. You enjoy running, why should you…

No, you can't do that, because it is just guessing. All you can do if you do not wish to buy scales, is to either weigh yourself periodically on a set of scales at a shopping mall or if you don't want to do that, the only stats you can put into your "weigh-in" are your measurements, but those will be no good for a ticker.

I have some thermal running gear and run in that. I will not, however, run in snow or ice and on those occasions, I run on my treadmill, indoors. Edited to say, I do not run with a stun gun, mace spray or any other weapon.

Not calories counting, for many, leads to weight being put on. It hardly takes a few minutes per day to log my food and drink, I shall do so and I would not say I am being obsessive in the slightest LOL. Regarding which activity people do, that is also up to them and to say that everybody should do progressive strength…

If you are genuinely that starving hungry, eat something with lots of protein in it, eggs are good for that. Protein is filling.

I am aiming for 130lbs - I am just over 5' 7". I am aiming for that because it is supposed to be an ideal weight for my height when it comes to running. However, I am now 139.2lbs, it does not really matter to me how long it takes me to get down to 130lbs because the weight I am at the moment is just fine anyway. I am…

Never tell people you are losing weight, just continue what you are doing and ignore them. It sounds to me as if it is THEY that are obsessed with calories and diets, not you. I remember a while back, a person commented to me when I got a sandwich out of the work vending machine "I thought you were on a diet" to which I…

 It is the extraordinary effort that cat gives to get through the flap, has me in stitches

A whole egg contains approx 6g of protein, take out the yolk, it leaves around 4g, so yes much of the protein is indeed in the white however, nearly all of the nutrients are in the yolk. An egg is just 70 calories, is full of nutrients and is HDL cholesterol meaning it is a good cholesterol - it goes around the bloodstream…

I know I shouldn't laugh at that, but I just can't help it  aw bless though
-
I have forgotten to do that in the past when embarking on a weightloss plan, I always regret not having those before photos.
-
You have lost 18lbs in 10 weeks, that is excellent. What you are doing is working for you, why try to fix something that is not broken. Just continue logging and sticking to your calories.

   don't be daft 55, you are not slow! :flowerforyou:

At least wait until your partner has finished dessert though.
