  • Unfortunately, you can't.
  • No point anyway, to be honest, you cannot see their progress, they cannot see yours. MFP removed the newsfeed a while back. It was one of the worse decisions they ever made.
  • Exactly. Those units really crack me up, seriously I mean, whoever bloody measures their veg, nuts and seeds by cups, totally ludicrous and also unbelievably innacurate. Grams for solids, litres/cl/ml/pints etc for liquids. I just never did understand the units for some stuff, does my head in!
  • No newsfeed at all now, unfortunately. I only ever use this on my laptop. I agree, they definitely need to bring the friendship parts back into the design.
  • They are saying it was used very little. Ridiculous because it appears when you log on. They didn't feel it warranted upkeep.
  • Yep, unfortunately so. It is one of those ridiculous decisions by those that deem it was rarely used, which we all know is a load of old codswallop. Anyway, to cut a long story short, many people are moving on to other apps.
  • I rarely log onto MFP anymore, I moved over to another app. However, every now and again I do come to these message boards to see how many other people are missing the newsfeed and the answer is many, many people. You see, the newsfeed showed as soon as I logged on, I didn't have bother with anything else except logging…
  • Its probably on their side as they will need to make sure their privacy settings allow for people to see/interact with them. [/quote] That is my husband, his privacy settings definitely allow me to see (or used to). All those on my friends' list are the same. One day I could interract with all, the next day I could…

  • I loved that feature too. It was just one tiny little statement, but I loved it. I occasionally got the stern warning, but I would just go on to quick add calories and add the amount of calories I was short (I didn't eat extra I just added the calories to get rid of that warning and so in turn, close the diary).
  • The newsfeed was the support system, that's gone. They need to now change the name from "MyFitnessPal" to "loginlogoutafterlogging" because basically, that is all it really is.
  • Not a lot of use, as when you click on a friend on that, you cannot see any of their activities at all.
  • That's been tried by numerous people, but bit by bit, they all drift away. The newsfeed was used, a lot, despite what MFP are saying. The newsfeed however, appeared when I logged on, I would scroll down, click "like" (or not click like), I would log my food and drink, log my exercise and it would appear on my own feed. Now…
  • Can you swim? Swimming is a good weightloss exercise and no strain on knees. 600 calories per hour if you swim continuously.....
  • I only use MFP on desktop, no it doesn't show any newsfeed, it has gone. I no longer log at all on it now, not food and drink or exercise.

  • I can't do that all I get when I go to their page is:

  • Personally I used to love that little "if every day were like today you will be ****lbs" or something like that anyway.
  • They don't appear to be maintaining the site at all going by the amount of people complaining of bugs.
  • No, it is no longer there, I am on PC, it doesn't show it at all now, hence me moving over to Lose It.
  • That was clicking on my profile pic lol
  • They removed the newsfeed. I have just opened a free account on Lose It, it is so easy to use and it has a newsfeed. MFP have pissed me right off. 12 years member here, but doing what they have just done has made me realise they do not have the best interests of the members in mind. I can't be doing with that.
  • Same here, had a couple of name changes, but it's been 12 years here too. I don't want to have to wade through clicking this, clicking that to get to some group. I used to just like logging in to MFP and it would straight away take me to my newsfeed, no mucking about, just straight to the point. Oh well, they are not going…
  • The line in MFP's blog re WHY they removed the newsfeed is ridiculous, I quote: "The Newsfeed is a rarely used feature." - what the hell are they on about, the newsfeed is accessed when the person logs on, so how do they work out it was rarely used??? How would they know it was "rarely used", was there a questionnaire that…
  • 100% in agreement, absolutely ludicrous decision they made. I used to love when I would lose weight and it would say "Di has lost **** lbs so far!" or something along those lines, now it doesn't do that, I can't see any friends' progress or their logged exercise, they can't see mine. It is meant to be MyFitness PAL, not…
  • Not only is it not even close, it doesn't even work properly, this is what I get when I follow the instructions there (note I have no activity bit)
  • How would they know it wasn't being used though, absolutely ridiculous decision that they made. Now it is no longer possible to see friends' progress, nor for them to see mine. This app will fold, it is going downhill fast. Perhaps that's what they want......

  • For crying out loud, really? So basically, there is no way to connect with friends, or is there?
  • A couple of apples, oranges, a bunch of grapes, two eggs. The choices are endless.
  • Yes I have been getting this too. I have ended up deleting said food or drink and re-entering it.
  • I noticed this too a few days back (I am on PC). I check-in, input my new weight and new measurements and then when I go back to my newsfeed, it used to say "*** has lost ***lbs, has lost *** in total!" - now it doesn't do that at all, I check in and that's it, nothing on my newsfeed or anything. I have terrific lag when I…
