  • Way to go girl!! <3
  • Yes, it actually does help boost metabolism a little bit. (Not enough to stimulate weight loss in it's own, of course) -- http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/70/6/1040.full
  • Wow that's a great idea!! I've done refried black beans for tacos, fried up black bean paste, etc, but never walnuts. @Doreedawn let me know how your nut cheese recipes turn out! I'm still a bit nervous to try them but really want to. I wish my grandmother were here, I'd have her whip me up a massive batch of kimchi…
  • Will have to try them!! We have a natural foods market here, it's a bit out of the way for me, but I should try and make a visit to see if I could find some things. Especially since I've been craving a hot dog lately -- which is weird, because even when I did eat meat, I didn't really enjoy hotdogs like that. One thing…
  • Oh that sounds delicious!! My brother and I went cold-turkey vegan together. The thing that sucks is, he freaking HATES mushrooms. So that limits a lot of substitution u_u Even though I'm supremely weary of the processed meat-substitutes, I was just dying to try the tofurkey italian sausages.. So I cooked them up in some…
  • I'm newish here too, I'll add you :D
  • I'm thrilled by the responses :) I know when I very first posted this, it sat without responses for a little bit and I figured that I was just lonely lol. You know, a few months ago I slipped up out of the vegan and... well... anyone who either just started or has slipped up and came back to it, did you notice your...…
  • I've yet to finish it, but you should read Transcend by Ray Kurzweil ( http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Nine-Steps-Living-Forever/dp/1605292079/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1366919638&sr=1-1&keywords=transcend+book ) It's really great.. has a plethora of information!
  • I'm all for a bit of honey here and there, but it's iffy amongst different people heh.
  • Awesome! It'll DEFINITELY help with weight loss I'll bet. I love dairy... but being lactose intolerant, it's just overall better for me not to eat it. (Not to mention, our bodies DRAW calcium from our bones just to break down the lactic acid!! Say what?! That's kind of counter-productive eh?) Hey, no red meat is a start!…
  • I know.. It's easier said than done.. but try not to worry about it :) I know when *I'm* at the gym I drown my thoughts out with my music and the way I'm feeling, I pay no notice to a single soul around me. Think about it this way.. Anyone there who's actually judging the 'fat' person at the gym seriously has it all wrong…
  • Trust me, it will make a lot of difference! The first 30lbs I lost last year were definitely because of SODA and diet soda! They are eeeevil. Not to mention, aspartame also makes you crave sugar sugar sugar.
  • I've done the weight loss thing many a time before, but never to any avail in the long run. I figure counting calories and keeping track is the ONLY way to do it! Good luck to you guys, too!
  • You got this :)
  • I wish you luck! After watching loads of documentaries, I learned that diet soda contains a deadly combination of caffeine + aspartame, which literally kills brain cells. (Plus, aspartame puts PLAQUE on your brain, eww!) -- it gives a sort of high, and it actually is addictive. After learning that I kind of... dropped…
  • I actually work in a gas station, and it is really REALLY hard on me with all the snacks in there!! At my store, though, I'll usually get a V8 (They really are quite filling!), sun chips, like the previous reply mentioned, and we have all sorts of those 100 calorie snack bars (e.g. The Kellogg's breakfast crisp bars and…
  • You can really use a lot of things. I've used olive oil in the past, as well as lotion. Any kind of oil, lotion or even conditioner works really well, and moisturizes. Right now I am using cold cream. (One time I got desperate and used a squeeze tube of lip balm.. Yeeep. It works too, lol.)
