If you get out of breath from other cardio, then it's probably best to see a doctor. Also, could it be that you are trying to go too fast? What is your pace?

Runner's World magazine recommends increasing your distance by 10% each week when training while running. Perhaps the same advice would hold true for walking?

Week 7, Day 1 finished. I can't wait to finish training. It's taken me so much longer to get here than 8 weeks.

The Feeling Good Handbook by Dr. David M. Burns. It changed my life and my outlook on life.

Key always goes on my right foot, right side lace. Phone always goes in the arm band. I also always run with music.

The fitbit flex will do it for you and sync with MFP.

Can you walk around in the mall? A lot of people do that for exercise. Also, if you are only eating 1000 calories, that may be too low. Usually it's best not to go below 1200. For me at 225 lbs, 1800-2000 is my range.

10% per week increase. In this case, that would be .125 miles each week. I think you will be able to do it. I personally am going through the couch to 5K training (week 7, day 1 today), but with your ankles, I'm not sure that's the best thing.

You've lost 15 lbs. YOU are the success story.

I started on July 21. It's been 3 months, and I've lost as much weight as you. Why are you unhappy that you lost that much weight in 16 days? Personally, I would be freaking out. I freaked out when I lost 4 lbs in a week, then relaxed when I gained 2. I apparently had a really low day, and it wasn't my "real" weight. I…

Umm.. I do eat junk food. I had pizza and a brownie sundae tonight. I think I'm over for today, but I was under for the last 4 days. I don't eat junk food all the time, but yeah.. i still have sodas, frozen yogurt, chips, meals out, M&Ms... who said you can't have junk food? Granted, I'm much bigger than you, so it's a…

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who doesn't care much for bacon. Unless it's super lean with almost no fat, I don't care for it. I used to eat it on my cobb salads, but now I go without and don't miss it. I do like it on a chicken sandwich though with melted white cheese. That's the only time I'm tempted.

Harvest salad is not as low in calories as it may look. I think it is the highest or 2nd highest. They have thier nutritional information available online. I've tried many of thier salads and didn't care for them (I usually love salads). I'm going to be trying a chicken sandwich next.

I finished W6D3! Fourth attempt, but I finished it finally.

It's a lifestyle change. I've discovered that challenges keep me going. I believe that I will get to all my goals, because I believe in myself. I don't deny myself. I just watch what I eat.

Good for you for starting! There is a C25K group here. You should really think about joining. You should get running shoes if you plan to do this long term. However, I recently got running shoes just this last weekend, and I've been runing since late July. I also completed 3 5Ks before I actually went out and spent the…

Congrats! Keep going!

13:30/mile is faster than me. I'm having trouble getting through W6D3 right now. Fourth attempt is on Saturday.

Wow.. that was incredibly helpful. Thank you.

Two words... Teddy Grahams. Not so great for the carbs, but they do kick my chocolate craving easily.

There's a really hot, sexy, fit person inside of me. I see her when I'm not looking in the mirror. I would like to see her in the mirror as well. I want to finish a half marathon by next December to raise money for a hospital that means a lot to me personally. That helps me to run. When I run, I don't want to eat crap.…

No, but I get it. I'm glad you found something that works for you. I do totally understand spending the calories though. One day this week I had my 4th slice of supreme pizza (it's a small pizza). Usually I only eat 3, but OMG that day I totally needed that 4th piece, and it was so worth it.

Yes, the fact that you plan on gaining it back sounds crazy to me. I can't tell what your body looks like from that angle. If you plan on gaining it back, because you would be too skinny, I think this sounds like a very bad idea.

[/quote Everyone has given you great advice on extending mileage, adding track work outs as well as tempo runs on longer runs. But you also need to do cross training. Runners often neglect this part but you need to develop your other muscles as well to support a faster run. Swimming and biking are both great alternates.…

Wait till you have health problems. That's a motivator. My motto is "Losing weight is hard. Maintaining weight is hard. Living heavy is hard. Choose your hard." I log in every morning before I've even had breakfast. I think that helps. My 5Ks give me goals that nothing else had done before. It took years to figure out…

Did your hemotologist say anything about being on a low dose aspirin (83 mg) once a day? I had all the genetic testing done (still paying for it and fighting with the doctor who didn't file right), and I only came up with a folic acid deficency. However, I'm still required to move around half way through an airplane flight…

My first goal was to finish. My second goal was to finish in 45 minutes. My final goal is to finish in 30 minutes. I don't think there is any specific goal other than the one you set for yourself. Personally, I think a 11:30 min/mile pace is super fast.

I can tell you that a weekly goal for weight loss with the little you have to lose is 0.5 lbs/week.

It takes 4 weeks for you to see your body changing. It takes 8 weeks for your friends and family to see your body changing. It takes 12 weeks for the rest of the world to see your body changing. Give it 12 weeks. Don't quit. There are a lot of pictures with this saying. I tried to do it here, but I'm not good at adding…

I use the Couch 2 5K app. I have become a running enthusiast. I now do monthly 5Ks even though I haven't finished the training program. I just subscribed to Runner's World magazine after reading the last two magazines back to back.
