Given your current height and weight, I'm guessing that although you entered that you WANTED to lose 2 lbs a week, this isn't going to happen at 1200 calories -- it's more likely that MFP expects you'll lose less than a pound per week. Check your expected weight loss in the Goals section. And be sure to enter your exercise…

Thank you all. I'll plan on being super strict with my intake and simply hope I don't experience any peculiar side effects.

Where you on it for long? Same dosage I have? Are the horror stories only related to long-term use?

I have always had 5-6 diet cokes per day. A bad habit, I know, but I loved the taste and thought I needed it to start my day, get through my day, and finish my day. Then I started seeing a dietician to try and get my weight under control. What she told me (I haven't seen the medical studies, so I'm going just based on what…

Walden Farms has a great line: salad dressings, barbeque sauce, ketchup, chocolate sauce, jelly, pancake syrup, and lots of other items. All of them are 0 calories, 0 sugars, 0 carbs, 0 fats. Just be aware of the sodium and you're good to indulge in as much as you want. A true lifesaver for our family.

100% Irish on both sides. Both of my parents are first generation.

My dietician had recommended a combo capsule of Pinnaclife D3 + Magnesium. I take 2 capsules daily. Looks like both supplements aid in fat loss and lowered blood pressure, as well as a host of other good results. Looks like I'm gonna keep taking it! :)

Shame on all you negative posters!!! We're here to encourage each other not tear each other down. And who's to say which is the best way? One size doesn't fit every body, one diet plan doesn't fit every body, and one weight loss method doesn't fit every body. And NO, I haven't had the surgery -- I'm doing it with diet and…

Absolute all-time fav? The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein. But looking up a few posts, I'm seeing Shogun, which is a great reminder -- I've missed that one for a while!

I'm 5'3-1/2" and currently weigh 179.8 (as of this morning). I wear a size 16 jeans (with occasional spillage over the top) and a 1X-2X in tops. I carry all my weight in my belly and boobs -- what I'd give to reduce those two areas! lol Time and patience will get me there though...

Chocolate protein shakes tend to do the trick for me.

Age 58 - closing in on 59. Anyone can add me -- I'm always up for encouragement - both to give and get! And yes, we old people can DO this!

I'm a fussy eater too. And I don't like ANY veggies except corn - which really isn't a veggie at all. So... my dietician recommended Good Greens bars. They taste just like a candy bar and include ALL of your days requirements of both vegetables and fruits as well as a healthy dose of protein. I like the Chocolate Mint or…

I'm losing. 5'3-1/2" and currently 185 lbs. I eat between 950-1100 calories a day and don't eat back my exercise calories. HOWEVER - this is being done under the guidance and supervision of both my doctor and a dietician. I have to see the doctor every three months and the dietician every 4 weeks. The low calorie count is…

I'm not a doctor, dietician or nutritionist, but it seems a bit odd that if you're looking to gain weight, you'd be taking in only 1000 calories per day. And that's not allotting for what you burn as a dancer, which I imagine are pretty strenuous workouts. I understand your doctor prescribing a high protein intake to fuel…

Would LOVE to have some friends on here -- anyone can feel free to add me as well. :)

I'm using NNW Whey Protein (112 Calories, 1 Carb, 2 Fat, 22 Protein). They sell it at Hy-Vee Grocery Stores.

Sounds great -- can you imagine how much weight will be gone if we all manage to reach this goal? :)
