Hello again, fellow lushes! A special thanks to Soccerdot for alerting me to this thread (I didn't know it had rolled over). I've been taking it easy on the drinking for the last couple of weeks because I'm trying to adjust to some new antidepressants, and I want to know what effects are actually from the meds, but I had a…

Whatever you do; approach with confidence and a smile! Or, make eye contact when possible...smile, then look away...and wait for him to approach you... It's a strategy that saves you the first "official" move. It's subtle, but it works.

Kellogg's Fiber Plus bars, cottage cheese, those Vita-top muffin tops (really good if you crave chocolate), greek yogurt, and (light) popcorn. Those are some of my favorite fixes.

How long have you been feeling depressed? If it has been a while, maybe you should see a doctor about it. I suffer from depression, and I know what a motivation killer it can be, as well as making you long for "comfort foods". I am getting on track with the proper medication now, and it makes eating right and exercising a…

I log it as "circuit training", too. I don't have a heart rate monitor.

MFP automatically adds the calories that you earn when you log your exercise. If you eat them back, just log your additional food, and MFP will do the math.

....how interesting that you would spell county girl like that... how do you spell soldier dad? You have time to do this on My Fitness Pal? Really? I'm only FMP friends with him, which means I only see half the drama, but this topic just reeks of sleaze. This is the wrong venue, sister. :noway:

Amazing job! What a difference! You look wonderful......keep doing whatever you are doing, because it's working! :flowerforyou:
-
Yeah.....just don't keep it in the house if you know it is a weakness. That would be silly. If you are trying not to drink, you don't keep a bottle in the liquor cabinet, you know? I even make my boyfriend hide cookies from me when he insists on buying them.

That is awesome! I just started Insanity last week, and I can already tell my cardio is better when I'm swimming!

I haven't posted on this thread for a while. Anyway, YES, I am still drinking, and YES, I still manage to stay under my allotted calories. i stalled out for a couple of weeks, but I had lost another pound as of yesterday. I don't believe it has anything to do with the alcohol, but I'm totally willing to cut it out for a…

My 3 year old nephew asked me if I had a baby in my tummy. :ohwell: He is a sweet heart, and his mommy was pregnant with my niece at the time, so he had babies on the brain. It was just the honesty of it that really got me... That is when I knew that, yes, I was fat, and yes....sometimes grown-ups are just too afraid to be…

I spent 8 years in the Army Reserve, and was activated for about 2 of them. My best piece of advice: get good at running! Push-ups and sit-ups, too....but mostly running! Other than that, Basic Training is mostly a 9 week mind-game. You'll do fine!

I mean, depending upon your goal, MFP has built in a deficit for you. For example: Mine has me set at taking in 1200 cals/day. (I'm 5'1) With my goal of 1 lb. per week of weight loss, the 1200 is right because in order to "maintain", someone that is my size, age, and sex actually needs 1700 cals. So If I exercise "away"…
-
Do you know that MFP automatically cuts 500 calories from what your body actually needs for the day. Therefor, if you eat back your exercise cals, you are still not eating that 500 calories of the original deficit. I'm just sayin', because I didn't know that at first, either.
-
Set your fitness level at "sedentary", and only eat the calories MFP gives you, since you won't be able to earn any exercise cals back. Eat lots of fiber so you don't get constipated not moving around much, and drink a whole bunch of water.:drinker:
-
No, because 1) MFP has automatically set a 500 calorie deficit for you (so if you ate your total # of cals that it gives you, it would still be 500 cals less than a "maintenance" diet), and 2) You are increasing your metabolism when you feed the fire so there will be more fat burned at rest for longer.

Thank you jonjon143! I will!

"New York....these streets will make you feel brand new! These lights will inspire you...." Anybody? Anybody? Oh, well. I'm going to bed. If I don't see any responses tomorrow, I'll just give it a shot in another couple of weeks. Goodnight, my friends!

"Water Jogging" is actually in the database! You are not alone!!!

I responded to your comment on your wall. Just don't give up! You are doing great!

"Bump" is just something people put on a thread that they find interesting so that they can find it under "My Topics" later.

I hate to say it, but it's all in the diet. I have super-toned abs, myself...it's just that they are hiding under a layer of flab. Losing the fat over the abs is key. I have also heard that this is the hardest part to lose from because it protects our vital organs and it's usually the first place people gain. It's true…

Being fat bothers me, too, but I'm not about to get lipo, either. There are ways to make things perkier and firmer without chopping off body parts. My breast make my back hurt when I run...so I wear 2 sports bras when running, rather than cutting them off. To each her own, but many of the gals I know of who have had breast…
