If you have never run 5 mi. before, it seems like quite a distance, however I think those products were designed more for marathon type running (26.2 mi.) If you run a 12 min. mile, you will be done in an hour, so you really don't need that stuff. Carry a bottle of water with you, and some Powerade or Gatorade for quick…

When you weigh in, you will know how your body is responding. I eat back most, but not all of my exercise calories, and I lost 4 lbs. the first week. See how the weigh-ins go, and work from there...

I am 5'1", and started last week at 161 lbs. I lost 4 lbs. my first week doing this!

Praying for you! I used to be in the Army, and always got the WORST anxiety about P.T. tests. Use all of that nervous adrenaline to boost your speed!

I'm still waiting on "Santa" to deliver my Insanity! I am so excited to start! I was doing P90X, but totally fell off the wagon during the holidays. Also, I'm watching what I put in to my body now, so I'm hoping for great results!

Yes! I love this idea! I live in NY, and before I quit smoking, I used to pay $12 for a pack of cigarettes. I can certainly come up with $10/lb.! I'm in!!!

I'll happily be friends with an old, boring guy! I need all the support I can get!

*Bump* I was wondering the same thing.

The only time I ever passed out from giving blood was when I was on a weight loss regimen. You aren't going to hurt your progress by taking just one day off. As one nurse said to me the day that I passed out: "You just lost a pound of blood. Go home, eat, and relax."

I've been on here for a week, and suffer from depression. I think my Effexor caused me to gain some of the weight over the past 3 years. My doctor is switching me to Cymbalta soon because the Effexor isn't working as well as it was and when the dose goes up, my blood pressure gets really high. I'm nervous about Cymbalta. I…

Nobody? :frown:

I have mine set for 135. I'm 5'1" too. I'm naturally bust-y, and my healthiest weight was when I was on active duty in the Army at 138lbs. I looked and felt great. My lowest weight ever was 110, but I was unhealthy and doing drugs at the time  That was years ago.

I sent you a friend request, too! (In fact I may have sent it twice...whoopsie!)

Makes sense to me, too, as far as weight loss goes. As far a eating only junk-food~that is just terrible for your body for so many reasons other than weight! I know what you mean about being able to give in to cravings sometimes. That's why I love this site! I can still have pizza and beer if I want to! :drinker: :drinker:…

That is just TERRIBLE!!!! What a shame! Nobody that is on this site needs that crap. I just want you to know that I sent you a friend request. I would love for us to help encourage each other! :flowerforyou:

I have a bunch of stuff that was collecting dust, too. I know what my problem is, though: I get bored FAST. I have found that if I do something different every day, it kind of keeps things fresh. The novelty comes back!

I have got to say, when I swim for an hour, I am FAMISHED by the time I get home, but it's totally cool, because I've earned myself over 500 calories! YAY!
-
I appreciate the feedback! My blood pressure is definitely my top priority. I'll just keep my fingers crossed in the hopes that Cymbalta doesn't hinder my weight loss. Like everybody says: Everyone is different. Let's hope I'm one of the lucky ones!

I need to lose 35 lbs, and I'm new on here. Let's be friends!

If you are going to take ALLI, take a multi-vitamin, preferably at night. On a side note, I took ALLI for a couple of months, only lost 2-3 lbs., and had to wear a pad every-day, because "sharting" was an almost daily occurrence, even if I stayed within the alloted grams of fat, LOL! It's just gross, and not worth it, in…

I'm short and need short friends, too! Just joined 3 days ago. I just friend requested you. Anyone else want to be friends with me, too?

Alcohol has had a hand in my weight gain, too. I've already cut down, and I am planning on drinking shots instead of wine and beer. Lol! Hey, less calories, right? :-)

I know 4 people who have had weight loss surgeries. One (a friend of my mom's) had her stomach "stapled" (whatever the hell that is) some 25 years ago and lost weight for a while. She is now back to morbidly obese and is even wheelchair bound. Her 2 daughters had gastric bypass they looked great for a few years, and now…

BUMP (this is my weak spot, too)
-
Crap! I was afraid that's what you'd say... Maybe not this time, though. I'd rather struggle with my weight without the added problem of the high blood pressure, so I guess I will just have to work extra hard. :-(
-
Oh, Thank you, everyone! I'm so happy! If I didn't eat those calories some days, I would be a VERY HUNGRY girl! Especially after I go swimming. I am FAMISHED!

Awesome, Ladies. Thank you so much!

Too much salt makes you retain water, and can raise your blood pressure. Sea salt is a better choice because it covers more surface area of the food, so you end up using less. Also Mrs. Dash has a bunch of very yummy salt-free seasonings!

Ok, no takers? Is there anyone out there from Queens, NY, in general?
