I started at 354...im at 311 now. So only a few more for me until im out. I've done it once before but ended up putting it back on after an injury. Good job though. I know it's an awesome feeling. Keep working to hit your goals.

I always just thought that term referred to building mass and actually getting bigger. Because you can have muscles and be thin, you just wont actually see a ton of mass. But not too many women go for that anyways. Im no nutritionist or expert, but that was always what I thought. Correct me if I am wrong.

I figure you Steelers fans would be goofy enough to fall for those Dr. Oz gimmicks! hahahah

3) Never eat carbs because they automatically become fat. The Adkin's diet is the only way to lose weight (FALSE: carb restriction is a personal choice. I restrict my carbs to under 145 a day because of insulin resistance, but I do not eat less than 80. Adkin's is not the ONLY way to lose weight) Are there any other "diet…

Having a good supportive base of active friends is really helpful. I tend to keep my list at a lower count, in more of a quality over quantity type deal. I try and make time for every friend on my list and like to see them succeed. As long as ya ain't a quitter and make the commitment I tend to keep those kind of friends…

When you are first starting out and have no real idea of how to get it done, you can get overwhelmed by the mass of information you get, and alot of it can be wrong! Although I am not claiming I am a know it all, I have successfully lost weight before getting injured. So I usually offer what works for me. Keep it simple…

Avoid those particularly redundant threads. Problem solved. Im all for the fun threads, but those the rate ones are stupid...it's like that "LMS for rate" thing high school kids do on facebook.

I was at a whopping 354lbs (I still am at the highest level according to that bogus BMI chart, but I run like a gazelle! So I dont feel severely obese), but i've been there and fought the struggle. Keep your head in the game. There is no sugar coating it, you have a long and tough road ahead of you. 95% of that tough road…

Im losing for health. My career of choice requires me to be in shape, so that is my number one motivator. If any superficial perks come along with it I won't complain though. But, definitely not the reason im doing this.
-
Yeah, I agree. Good job on the progress, that can't be denied. But you can definitely do without wasting money on that gimmicky overpriced stuff.
-
I try and go for one day a month when I don't watch anything at all. But other than that, I try and work in foods I like that aren't necessarily "healthy" (IIFYM) if you can balance in foods you like and keep your numbers in check, I feel like it works better overall. Moderation, not deprivation.

Have you tried looking into some of those insoles from Scholls? My feet used to kill me after standing at work for 3-4 straight hours, but after I got a pair of those, I haven't dealt with any pain from standing and walking around the whole time.
-
I'd recommend drinking 2+ cups of water with every meal. It'll definitely help leave a lasting feeling of fullness. ETA: Also helps you reach that minimum daily 8, too!
-
You don't gotta stop it. Just moderate it. So long as you are completely cutting out the empty sugar and cals from regular soda, a diet one here and there wont hurt nothing.
-
Honestly, unless you are doing some kind of clowning around or purposely doing something to seek attention, then you really have nothing to worry about. I have actually drawn attention to myself, unintentional and unwanted of course, but when people catch a 300+ guy running 8mph on a treadmill, I guess they feel the need…

This is what I was referring to.

There was straight up PORN Pictures in the kids cartoon called "The Rescuers Down Under" There was also a part in (Edited to change the movie title) Cinderella, where it looked one of the mice were pulling anal beads out from another mouse. Very, very, fu*ked. No wonder the world is so messed up now days...all these…

It's almost too difficult to even imagine what i'd do. Firstly, i'd take a lump sum. Even after the taxes, that's still lifetimes worth of money. I know the very first thing I would do is take care of every debt I owed to family and companies. Then i'd buy all the essentials, car, house, and take care of those that have…

Anytime i've ever lost weight i've done so while eating unclean. Of course, I put full effort into exercising 5 days a week, and I try to mix healthy options into my diet as well.
-
A sarcastic opposing spin-off thread? . Havent seen this before. Hahaha
-
Not at all, but you won't develop a toned body or gain muscles by just eating right. That's the only thing, gotta put in the work for those kind of results. If you are simply looking to lose weight and nothing more, than eating at a deficit will be enough for weight loss, although it'd probably be at a much slower pace,…

Im not an attractive person so....NONE. Im sure a "hot" person lands about 5-10 a day from creeps alone.

Thank you....I think I know what i'll be eating tonight. It's not considered "real" by Joyzee standuds but, it's still pizza!

I like lifting, but I hate all the macho-wannabe-*kitten* that tend to come with the territory. A shoulder injury is keeping me back from lifting so I've taken up swimming...and I love it. Definitely a lot more than lifting.
-
All the macho dudes lose their gains.
-
IIFYM...that's my philosophy and i'll continue to stick to it...my only thing i've cut out completely is regular soda, even with that said, I barely drink the diet stuff either.
-
It is possible...but it takes time. That's the simple fact. Time, effort, and patience. Get at it! Each time you are out putting in hard work is bringing you a little bit closer to your goal. Set mini goals along the way and keep accomplishing them.
-
They'll never notice if you don't keep working at it. That's all you can do. Im 27 pounds down, about 2 months in, haven't heard a word yet. It's not an overnight process. It takes MONTHS...even years, sometimes.
-
A few short and simple tips to start: If it were easy, everyone would be doing do it. It doesn't happen overnight Keep it simple (It really is simple, it just takes effort) The scale doesn't always indicate progress I feel like a good way to keep yourself motivated is to set yourself up with some goals, set a bunch of…
