Sure it does. You can eat 1200 calories worth of twinkies or you can eat 1200 worth of healthy thing things like salad with chicken breast. Guess which one will make you healthy? That said. You've received lots of great tips. While I wouldn't eat processed foods like lean cuisines and such, that plus a salad or a piece of…

I don't eat diet food & I love sweets, especially chocolates. I plan them into my meals. Easy ones are FAGE 0% greek yogurt + 1 tsp of cocoa powder+1 tbsp nut butter of choice ( I used almond) + 1 stevia packet. Mix then pop in the freezer for 20 mins. Another is cupcake in a mug. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2…

Add me to the foods can't touch unless designed to (like spaghetti & meatballs) crew. I also cannot have salad on a plate with regular food.

Awesome! I get tired of telling people I get variety in my diet and I get plenty of protein. I also don't do diet food. If it's a gym day, I will indeed treat myself to pancakes.

700-900 calories is not enough. You are eating too few calories which can also slow weight loss. Also I find the scale doesn;t really move unless I exercise as well as watch what I eat.

No it's not a bad sugar, but you need to log it all the same. It just gives you a better picture overall. If all your sugar comes from natural sources there is no reason to be overly concerned with going over on your sugar. However if you don''t log it you don't get a true picture of calories eaten.

I'm over that. I do mostly water aerobics. I've been here a while and been up and down with a few health issues, but when I am on my game eating well, drinking water and doing water aerobics 3 -4 days a week the pounds fall off.

I drink one in the morning before I work out. I can't work out after eating, but I don't want to work out on an empty stomach. I'm not drinking it to build muscle. I think it's a matter of personal choice. I also prefer to make my own rather than the somewhat suspicious looking ones at the gym snack bar. ETA: I am a…

I have several. I wash each after use.

THIS! If you ever watch My cat from hell on animal planet, there is a lot of training you can do to help this problem. Declawing is cruel. I did it once when I lived with my mother and the cat attacked her twice. I have suspicions that she would "sweep the cat out of the way which he viewed as a threat, but I couldn't…

No you are not. It takes more than a week to go into starvation mode. For right now focus on several small meals through the day. If the problem last another week call your doctor.

I didn't use it for a year, but I did lose for a few months I think what got me was I got pissed off at my doctor. She seemed to be throwing shade on my endeavors to eat right and exercise. It annoyed me when she didn't seem to be listening to me and instead offered me both a liquid diet and GPS. First I switched doctors…

Milk Chocolate has animal fats, dark chocolate does not.

I'm a vegetarian and can have a bit of a sweet tooth myself. I so occasionally indulge in chocolate, but i mostly try to stick to fruit. One thing I do over the summer is make my own popsicles Pureed fruit put into molds and froze, or add a bit of yogurt for a creamy consistency. I also have a recipe for a 1 min microwave…

Eat, but make sure you are eating food that hold you. Also do not limit yourself to breakfast foods. If you aren;t a breakfast food eater, eat what you like.

I go to the food court and have lunch first. Seriously I am much more restrained if I am not hungry. so I never shop at WF's with out eating. Then I hit the bulk bins first and then check to see if they have any produce on sale. The run specials every Friday so I check to see what the special is. If I have a bit of spare…

It depends on what you are monitoring. I am looking at overall health so I look at my nutrients. Also many fruits and veg also contains carbs. I'm not low carb but again it's something I monitor. I eat enough raw fruit and veg that I want to track it. Bottom line is for me I do better logging everything I eat, good, bad…

Oh congrats to you!

I would watch the processed food. Morningstar products are my weakness as well. heavily processed food simply take longer for our bodies to break down. Also look out for the sodium. I manually changed mine because I think MFP's is a bit high. I took mine down to 2200. However if you are losing inches, put the scale away…

YAY! I can't wait for the day when I can say the same.

Anywhere from 2-5 times a day. I probably average 3 times a day, I always have to go when I wake up and then again an hour after lunch. I have never gone a day without pooping.

Buy chopped frozen spinach. You can add it to a fruit smoothie & although it will turn it green, you can't taste it. Add a handful to a pasta sauce and again it hides. Making a meatloaf? Toss in another handful.

Since I did some produce shopping today I thought I'd share. I do a monthly big shop but fresh produce needs to be replenish so I visit the produce market in between. For $10 I got; 5 kiwi, 2 16oz containers of strawberries (one to eat, one to freeze for smoothies), 2 avocados, 5 medium pink grapefruit, a pint of baby…

I've had issues in the past with swollen feet & ankles. Since I joined MFP & changed my eating habits this hasn't been an issue, still I am borderline for high blood pressure so after speaking with my doctor I manually changed mine to 2200. I agree losing weight when you are over 40 is challenging. The best advice I can…

THIS. I buy the basics, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder. Often times if I add the garlic and onion I don't need the salt. No added calories and no added sodium.
-
Seek out your local produce market or Farmer's market. My produce market sell 3 dozen eggs for $3 - $4 depending on the market and I can get 2 full bags of fresh fruit and veg for $20. In the summer when fruit is cheap I buy berries and freeze so I can make smoothies year round. It's not easy but it's doable.

Most days before, or I start the day eating my typical foods , log in/track around lunch and then use it to decide on dinner. Other days I may be out with friends and I just want to log/track in order to be accountable even though I know it's over. This is helpful because then I can plan for special treats if I know what…

Complete mine every day. Good , bad and ugly. My diary is open for all to see. its not perfect but I do it daily no matter where I am.
-
Not for me. This is how I plan to eat for the rest of my life so if I want a piece of chocolate or some fries, I'm going to plan my day accordingly to incorporate that into my day. I also don't want to set up the mentality that healthier, cleaner food choices are a chore and that certain foods are a "treat'. Some days for…
