  • I am rarely hungry. Seriously I plan my meals and eat every few hours. I eat lots of veggies which tend to be very filling so I am rarely hungry.
  • It depends on the salad. The specialty salads are often loaded with too many sauces, or have proteins that are sauced and/or fried. They are killers, but if you get a house salad with no cheese or croutons, have a non sauced grilled or baked protein and a simple oil/vinegar dressing, you will be fine.
  • Chinese isn't bad if you stay away from heavy sauces and fried items. I usually get a veg steamed and get the brown sauce on the side. The key to eating out to plan ahead. Chain restaurants typically have their menus and calorie info online. Otherwise just google by food type. I eat out a lot and rarely run into problems.
  • My doc recommends Fiji or Penta. Tastewise I actually like Target brand. If I lived near a natural spring I would be there every week.
  • Think of it as the 80/20 rule. You won;t let the slips ups that happen maybe 20% of the time ruin the good you do 80% of the time. Log the 3 bites of cheesecake and plan your diary for the rest of the day around it. I would even fill in what I plan to eat the rest of the day to balance it out.
  • I don't ignore the the sugar in fruit and veg, but I do look at the hidden sugar in processed foods and try to cut that out in order to have more room for fruit which is far better for you.
  • Fruits like berries and watermelon have lower sugar. I eat those on non gym days when I have less sugar calories to spare. On gym days I eat more because I have more wiggle room and I will also burn off the sugars from the fruit. Remember the other benefit of eating whole fruit is the fiber you get along with it. I prefer…
  • real food is always going to be better than fake food in my book. I rarely use butter, but I wouldn't touch margarine with a 10ft pole
  • I must have an ego the size of Mt Olympus. Now I am a big girl and I easily have over 100lbs to lose, but I am always fashionable. I believe in good & supportive underwear and hair and makeup is always on point. Do I think I look better with my weight loss? Absolutely, but I was always cute & I still like how I look. The…
  • Well since my main exercise is water aerobics, Yeah I wear one pretty much daily. I have a tankini, a one piece and a 1 piece with a sort ruched skirted thingy on the bottom.
  • I use mine probably about once a week. I have no idea who it's by, I 'd have to look. It was gifted to me by someone who got it from someone else. One thing you want to look at when buying is how many parts you need to take apart to clean it cause that gets real old fast.

  • Ovo-lacto vegetarian here. No food with faces for 15 years now. Good blog is the FatFree Vegan Kitchen and my favorite cookbook is The Vegan Soul Kitchen.
  • what are ups and downs?
  • I found sit ups in cardio.
  • The easiest thing is to buy the jewelry they wear in the wedding whether it be earrings, bracelets or necklaces. The other option is a girls only night out or dinner paid by you. Also I know thank you cards seemed to be going away, but make sure they are on your list. Any pre- wedding experience like the mani - pedi is…
  • I went cold turkey as well. I am ovo-lacto which makes getting protein easy. I eat eggs, beans, legumes, quinoa, small amounts of soy and even smaller of tofu, almond butter, almond milk, greek yogurt, cheese that doesn't contain animal rennet, vegan protein powder. Also if you google, there is actually lots of vegetable…
  • Exactly why I don't sweat the scale. I weigh in monthly and don't worry about it. I can feel when I'm eating correctly. It shows in my diaries, and more importantly in my clothing.
  • I am choosier about the foods I eat. I also discovered I like working out. Now that my feet and ankles aren't always swelling up I can enjoy stylish shoes again.
  • Aim to eat as healthy as possible. Don't eat anything you will binge on or you think may trigger a binge. If there is one treat you like, but can eat a sensible portion of and stop get that. The whole "just this once" or "everything in moderation" is what often gets us into trouble. Be honest with yourself and stay focused…
  • Hi everyone. Let's see, I've been "chubby" most of my adult life and that morphed into fat and that slide into really fat. I am allergic to seafood, an ovo-lacto vegetarian and have several food sensitivities. As a result I try to eat as clean as possible. I started this with a focus on getting healthy first and losing…
  • That was me. I could go all day without eating. When I decided to get healthy, the first thing the doctor said was you have to eat breakfast. I'm not sure if it will work for you because I hear smoking dulls the taste buds, but I simply made it a point to have breakfast. At first it was hard because the thought of food…
  • I agree. It's one of the reasons why I don't friend people who don't share diaries with their friends. I'm not trying to judge; I don't expect everyone to eat a vegetarian diet or eat clean. However, I am not going to congratulate someone on being under goal if they did by eating a snickers and a pizza all day. Also I like…
  • I actually read that broccoli is a better way to offset sodium because the potassium helps counteract the effects. Thankfully I don't like salt so I only have to watch for hidden sodium, like what you mentioned in your yogurt.
  • I can definitely see a difference between the 2 pictures. You keep up the good work!
  • IMO that's when you see it the most. People started asking me when I hit the 20lb mark. At 40lbs even if she is still wearing her old clothes, which would be swimming on her, it should be noticeable. Sadly it just sounds like a bunch of unsupportive people and perhaps the OP is being hard on herself. I can't really see a…
  • I would compromise with the hubs on the bread, but I wouldn't give the kids junk food. Now is the time to teach them good eating habits that will effect them for life. They will be exposed to junk foods at school and with friend and eventually have to learn to make good food choices for themselves. If all they have learned…
  • I've read that working out in the morning is best for you, I tend to workout in the mornings, cause it helps jump start my day. Still anytime you can get it in is good as long as you're moving as far as I am concerned.
  • If you don;t go crazy with the sushi, having it on occasion is okay. Limit the soy sauce since that's crazy salt. I can;t eat hard foods on the left side cause of neuralgia either or bite apples and pears. If I go for sushi, I get one veg roll (6 - 8 pieces), miso soup, a veg w/ garlic sauce or edamame. It's pretty filling…
  • Energy drinks are just sugar and caffeine which is why they give you headaches. I would focus on energy producing foods. Try getting more "super foods" into your diet. A small snack of nuts and berries may be the energy boost you need and can be prepared ahead of time and carried in snack bags.…
