I have issues with portions sizes as well. One thing I have done is use the smaller set of plates we have instead of the large dinner plates. This way I can still see that I have a full plate, but am eating less.

I do not own either, but my doctor has told me to stay away from the treadmill and definately use the elliptical because running is very tough on your knees. drblythe is most likely correct. If you are lifting any weights or doing muscle toning (or building) exercises, you might gain a pound or two. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat does! This is a journey, not a race. Enjoy the view!

I do it first thing Monday morning when I get to work. We have a scale in shipping that is certified and very accurate. I try not to eat or drink anything until I weigh myself also. I choose Monday because it is right after the weekend and it makes me remain conscious of my food decisions on the party days!

Try making a couple dinners in one day. That way all you have to do is warm it up when you get home, then head on over to the gym.

hummus is essentially ground up chickpeas usually mixed with some type of spice or other flavoring.

I stick with the egg beaters. They come in packs of 4 (16oz) for $8. Also, if you don't have one, think about investing into a food saver (vacuum sealer). I buy most of my meats at Sam's and Costco and it works great for marinating.

If I won the mega millions lottery, I would pay off my close friends and relatives mortgages, as well as, take care of their college tuition. Donate to various charities, fund a food bank. Retire and volunter (mostly at the USO).

Ghiradelli makes a decent 60% & 72% dark chocolate, but nothing compares to the 80% I had in Grenada...I would go back there just for that stuff!
