As @cwolfman13 said above, there are many in the database. I use hatha yoga, mild stretching, and tai chi, but there are others. However, there is not much of a calorie burn with these. I cut them in half or more, when I add them to my exercise diary.

Well, you can always get a digital food scale and weigh and measure all your food and drink. That's what most of us do on MFP, at least to start. Portion size is important to learn.
-
Actually there is a very good thread running on cutting down on alcohol on MFP. They are very active and welcoming. A fresh thread is started every month. It's run by "Miss May" I believe. I followed along for a bit and they are all very nice and supportive, even if you mess up. You just start over. I'd recommend it. PS: I…

I live in Italy and cook pasta almost everyday. I always weigh it dry. Here a portion is 100g, but you can weigh out whatever you want. Pasta runs about 350 cal per 100g. It doesn't matter what form it's in. However, if you buy fresh pasta, or egg pasta check the calories on the box.

Ha! Today I have a beastly cold. I still managed to do my stretching routine, and then the pool (which helps with congestion). However, if I have a fever, or am dragging my tail, I will either do a lot less or rest up. Pushing yourself when you are sick can be counterproductive. It's a personal decision.

Anyone can lose. Just get your daily calorie goal, a digital food scale, start weighing and measuring all food and drink and you're good to go. Do that and don't even think about your medication at first. After a month, if you're still floundering, look up the threads about your medication. People post a lot about this,…

The OP was last on over a year ago--Jan 14, 2022. Too bad, wonder how it all worked out.
-
Congratulations on your weight loss. I would say that it's just going to take time. Look into recomp. There was a long thread running on it for years. It sounds like that's what you want.
-
What they both said^^^. Not possible without serious consequences to your health. Have patience. You should have started a year to 6 months ago. Nothing is so special that you damage yourself to achieve it. Lose what you comfortably can. Then keep going.
-
Did you get your daily calorie goal? Are you weighing and measuring all food and drink on a digital food scale?
-
Try melanzane--that's eggplant in Italian. It's 25 calories per 100g fresh.
-
Very nice! Congratulations, and best of luck with your future goals.
-
Try fruit. Stick to it for a week.
-
I would ask if you are weighing and measuring all food and drink on a digital food scale.
-
I remember when this happened. So sad. RIP.
-
Nice of you---but the OP hasn't been on since 2016. This is an old thread.
-
True dat. :)

In Italian---pasta is pasta. "Pasta al uova" is pasta with egg.
-
Yes, bronze extracted pasta is superior, but what really adds to the cost is if the pasta is air dried or sent through a drying oven. The rough surface is desirable so the sauce will adhere to it.
-
Ah yes, I didn't mention Canada's production---sorry. However Canada's production still falls under North America. Just to be clear that the pasta that is being eaten in Italy is the same in North America, and Europe. There is no magic difference that I know of.

Hard durum wheat is used to make "semolina" which is used to make the best pasta. I have a couple of quality brands that have 14g of protein per 100g of pasta (dry). Even a lower grade of pasta has 12g of protein per 100g of dry pasta. Italy grows and produces hard durum wheat, but not enough for their consumption and…
-
Also, just looked up where hard durum wheat is grown in the US.---North Dakota and Montana primarily, with some in Southern States. I'm a farm girl at heart and this interests me. Hope you've got some interesting links to show me @peggy_polenta.
-
Interesting--I'd like your sources. We import a great deal of hard durum grain from the US. And......pasta is a main dish here. Very much so.
-
ANYTHING will work that will put you in a calorie deficit. You pick.
-
I'm happy for you and your husband. I live in Italy and we eat a lot of carbs here---pasta, pizza, breads, pasteries, etc. The population is not obese and most are at a normal weight for their height. Carbs are not the devil. Overeating is.
-
Wishing you the best. Hang tough.
-
I wish you luck! You have a nice goal. If you don't injure yourself doing too much too soon, you'll have a shot at it. Take things slow in the beginning.
-
Didn't say it was. :) Cheers PS: For those following along, calorie counting is a tool for losing, maintaining, or gaining weight.

Well CICO is NOT a diet. Whenever you eat or drink something it's CI. Whenever it leaves your body it's CO. Everybody living does it everyday. You are recounting your experience (1) and say a great many people have your problem, whereas telling about a guy who ate whatever and lost weight is just (1) person. I would like…
