Ciao Ann. I believe she said 15 kilos in 3 months. That would still be over 10 lbs a month. Still very aggressive and not to be attempted without a doctor's say so. Somebody would have to take the responsibility if things went wrong.

I agree--you're looking for the wrong thing. Are you having trouble staying within your daily calorie goal, or trouble keeping up with some sort of exercise? I think of it this way: it's a lot easier to build good habits and coast along on those. I manage to take a shower, comb my hair, wash my clothes, and clean house…

Very sorry for your loss. Grieving is normal, take your time with it. Talk to her in your heart and take her with you wherever you go. That honors her memory. The ancient Romans thought that remembering a person kept them alive in spirit. Hope you find your peace.
-
Why--that's great news! Thanks for checking in. Keep up with your progress.

I see that you're working with a nutritionist. What I would say is that seeds and nuts are better for you than Cheetos---for the same calories. So, choose the seeds and nuts. I haven't had a potato chip or a Cheetos for years. I can't even remember when. I live in Italy now and those things exist, but are not normal…

This is an old thread and the OP has not been on MFP since Oct 2016. He won't be seeing the advice. However the thread is interesting. Carry on.
-
Very common. That's why we suggest building good habits. Just like you brush your teeth, take a shower, wash your clothes.... Nobody relies on "motivation" to do these things. Eating the right portion size for you and exercising should just be part of a daily routine.

I would just say that you don't want diabetes. It will stick with you for the rest of your life. Start now to lose the weight. Get your daily calorie deficit, a digital food scale, and start weighing and measuring all food and drink. Try to stay within that goal everyday. Being active will not save you--losing weight will.…

I, too, think you could benefit from therapy. Your situation is complicated and trying a "do-it-yourself" could harm you further. Find the right person to talk to, keep looking until it clicks. Best of luck.

Sometimes after several (or many) tries, something just clicks and it all falls into place. Reading the boards will give you great information. If you haven't yet, read the stickie posts that are a collection of user threads that were voted most helpful or inspirational. Then, get that daily calorie goal that MFP will…

I think that you need to think about changing your exercise. There are so many different things to do. Look around. Try the pool, yoga, cycling, zumba, dance, walking (even in the rain--get the right gear) and up your pace slowly every week or month, horseback riding, Tai Chi,......... You can't stick with exercise that…

You should get used to weight fluctuations--they will be constant. Are you keeping a weight graph? It will zig-zag but over time you should see a downward trend. Water weight, salt, and new exercise can all change your weight, sometimes by several kilos. .3 kilos is about a pound. Nothing to freak out over. You'll need…

And then what happens?
-
Oh :D :D ----don't worry. I don't think most people will be interested in an exercise and eating plan like yours. I'm just following along to see how long it lasts.
-
Do you know how much it weighed? I'd log it as regular banana bread and then log 2 squares of chocolate. It should come pretty close.
-
Congratulations!

Strange, there are several threads running for over 60. I, myself, am 68 and post fairly often. I agree that if you have a specific interest, you should create a thread. We'll be anxious to help.

In a way it does because it breaks them down into carbs, sugars,.......etc. That IS counting. Do you want MFP to tell you that you ate 2 apples, 3 oranges, and 2 zucchini today? If so, that's not very accurate since the sizes of apples, oranges, and zucchini all differ. I want to know how many calories and macros they…

I track all my fruits and vegetables. I weigh them on my digital food scale and log them in my food diary---everyday. I don't know why you're having trouble doing this.

My take (I'm 68 and still have hot flashes after 10 years of menopause) is that anxiety goes up and that causes many problems. That's why I will feel stressed, snappy, overworked (I'm a housewife and you can NEVER retire), achey, you name it....... I'm dealing with it as best I can. I do some sort of exercise everyday. I…

What I'd do is break down the ingredients--tapioca flour and rice flour. Weigh your pancakes uncooked. 60% of that weight is tapioca, 26% is rice, and 13% is water. Figure it out by weight and then you'll know for the next time. The oil that they recommend adding should be measured carefully and logged. I break ingredients…

What I love about zombie threads is going through the old posts and seeing posters that I recognize from before. There were some great and knowledgeable people on here in the past. Gone. Not that there aren't any today, but it's a handful compared to before. The boards used to be so interesting with all those people…

I agree with Ann---remember the lurkers. Some people don't post, but gather information just the same. It's not a waste to give good advice. You are appreciated.
-
This is a 10 yr old post, and the OP hasn't been here for 10 years.

Welcome. I would just like to add that losing weight ASAP is not a good idea for so many reasons. It takes time and patience. You need to build good habits---portion sizes right for you and exercise that you enjoy so you will continue. Losing too fast can put your health at risk. Please follow the advice given above. Good…

I'm very sorry this happened. I know you put a lot into your posts. We, who are regularly on here, know it and appreciate your time and advice.

Actually---I didn't accept his FR. Now, I'm regretting it because I could have seen what he is really up to. I could have gone undercover........(not literally). :D :D :D

He just FR me today. :D :D :D

I thought I'd have to have a hip replacement for sure. Then I found MFP 10 years ago and upped my exercise. I'm still holding. I have hip pain but manage with certain stretches. I've had really good luck with "Ask Dr Jo" on YouTube for specific painful areas. She's great. I'm doing some simple hip stretches of hers…

Welcome. I'm also 68, but have been exercising for years. If you've never exercised, I'd suggest starting out with walking. You can start small and work your way up to faster and longer--slowly. Once you're doing well with that, you can add in other things. There's a whole world of activity out there: dancing, cycling,…
