To be honest I gave up trying! I'm working on my core strength so hopefully when I do go back to it I won't have too much trouble. Although I think it's mainly fear! Thanks for your responses

I am another one for mindful practice. I had terrible posture years ago and whenever it came to mind I would sit/stand up straight. Now it has become second nature to stand with good posture and it aches to slouch. Honestly it's no hardship, just wanting to make the change and doing it when you remember is enough. Just…

Hi, just joined! I have a very conservative goal of 20k (my mind doesn't work in miles just yet- I'm sure it will once I've been on here for a while) This is my third time starting running (babies kept getting in the way!) so I'm slowly getting back into it after a pregnancy related hip injury. This month my aim is to get…

Yesterday went well. I went for a run during my lunch break so spent the afternoon with a red face. In the evening I did my third pole class and managed to let go! (still holding on with my legs). It was scary but that is something new that I learnt. I also cleaned out the animals and cleaned the kitchen so it was a pretty…

I know this isn't a very big deal but I did my first pole sit last night and managed to let go a few times!

I'm the same as you. Tracking stops my mindless munching. Also I'm a lot more aware of what is 'worth it'. It does become a bit of a chore, especially over weekends. I never go back and look at what I've had, I probably should.

I hope its not too late to join! I'm Eleanor, I haven't got too much to lose and I'm in no rush to lose it but its all about consistency and perseverance so thought this group would be a good tracker of those things. Plus I'm going through a phase of trying different activities to see which will stick so would be nice to…

I went to my first class last night. I suppose my success is signing up for 6 months

I've had a couple without realising. I bought shorts last year without trying them on and when I got them home I couldn't do them up so put them away. I pulled them out for my holiday this year and they fit! Although I feel like this was cheating because it had nothing to do with my recent MFP commitment. I've only just…

I want in!

I want some ideas too. The Prodigy's not a bad shout. Katy Perry has some motivational tunes

I haven't posted on this yet and after reading all of your check ins I've discovered I'm doing it wrong! My boyfriend started me on this and has apparently swapped the row and dead lift over. Is that important? last night was set A (or B... not too sure). Either way I did: Squat: 37.5kg (80lbs ish) 5x5 OHP: 17.5kg (40lbs…

I've read these sort of things quite a bit. I assume they mean your physical health in general, not being able to lift heavy things. Which makes sense, mental and emotional ability is useless if the physical vessel expires. I found someone who seemed a bit more grounded/ knew what he was talking about on youtube. I think…

1. sleep in a bathroom would you rather: 1. die alone 2. die painfully

I know! I really didn't mean cheat, I used the wrong word!
-
Yes, that's what I meant. I'm supposed to have 1700 a day but would rather have 1500 Mon-Thurs then 1950 Fri-Sun. Also, if this would still work for weight loss, would this have an effect on my metabolism?
-
Thanks guys! I think cheat was the wrong word. I don't mean cheat as in eat crap. I will eat relatively well every day but I will still have chocolate if I fancy it on a weekday (IIFYM style). What I meant was is it ok to eat more on weekends and less on weekdays? Because that's what I seem to be doing naturally.

I haven't heard that but I think it's probably because a lot of 'clean' foods are low calorie and filling so you'd struggle to eat too much. My OH enjoys clean foods and wants to gain weight but struggles to get all his calories in because he just doesn't have the time in the day to eat that much of what he enjoys.

Hi, I'm new to pole. I haven't started yet, I start in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! I've wanted to do it for years

How long has it taken people doing this to start losing again after the immediate gain/maintenance in the change of intake?

I want to be in!

Hi, I have a protein shake after working out to help the muscles recover. There isn't a maximum on how much protein you should consume in a day but there is a minimum (based on your personal body fat percentage) so I would say go for it if it fits in your calories. Just make sure you don't get one that's full of crap. I…

Exercise DVDs would be a good starting point. I hate running too. Although I was told I would eventually love it. It was halfway through my second half marathon that I concluded that I had given it long enough and I just don't, and never will, enjoy running.

I wish I knew a place like that!

How much do you want to lose? I'm not expert, I'm only summarizing my understanding from other posts but I think the less weight you want to lose the slower you should do it, like 0.5-1 lb per week. That way it is easier to maintain once it's off. There's less change to your diet so easier to stick to as well.

I want random active friends!
