If you're shot, you're shot. Don't stress over a couple of needed days off. Give your body a quick rest and then right back at it! I guarantee you won't be as sore next time!

If that piqued your interest, I recommend checking out the documentary "Food Matters," which you can watch for free at the link below. There are lots of things the pharmaceutical industry doesn't want us to know. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/food-matters/

30 Day Shred isn't really super challenging. Obviously, it depends on your fitness level and which parts of your body are strongest, etc...but I'm not in super good shape by any means, and--with the exception of a few moves--I didn't find 30 Day Shred very challenging at all.

I mainly do administration now, but I taught fulltime for several years, and I still teach online on the side. Feel free to add me! :)

I'm a little under 5'7", and I'd like to weigh under 170. (My "ultimate" goal would be around 155-160, but I'm realistic enough to know that it's unlikely, and I'll be plenty happy if I never get that low.)

Are you exercising a ton? If not, I'm not sure how you could be eating 3 meals and 3 snacks without hitting 1200. They would have to average under 200 calories each. If you ARE working out a lot, just cut your exercise down a bit.

I checked out the video. That's really good stuff, man. Impressive. Although I do enjoy metal, I generally find most metal bands to be pretty lame. Not so with your band. Very heady, well thought-out stuff. Cheers!

I wanna get in on the fun! Here's a music video from an old band of mine! (And it's somewhat topical, too, because I was considerably heavier in this video than I am now.) :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blBaoqwBhiE

The perpetually repeated rumor that Marilyn Monroe was a size 16, or 14 (or even 12) is misleading. Observe: http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/mmdress.asp

I know I'm in the minority here, but being very shy, quiet, and lacking in self-confidence myself, I've always found those same traits attractive in a girl. Don't get me wrong: Confidence is a great thing, and I wish I had more of it. But I've always been drawn to girls who are a bit more withdrawn and unsure of…

I've always been more physically attracted to "thicker" girls. Thin girls just don't generally look good to me. It doesn't seem to be the norm in my social circle, but it's how I've always been. In fact, I've been known to say things like "She was hot before she lost all that weight" or "She's put on a few pounds...she's…

A pound of anything weighs the same as a pound of anything. :) A litre (or any other measure of volume) of muscle weighs more than litre of fat...but a pound is a pound.
-
I've tried to explain this to people many times. Thank you for doing a much better job of it than I ever could. I don't know where people ever got the idea that they were putting on pounds and pounds of muscle in a short time by doing simple circuit training and the like, but a lot of people seem to believe it.

I have 15 or 16 tattoos total, but I don't have pictures of most of them. Some of them are visible in the "before" picture on my profile, but it's a pretty small picture, so you can't really see them in detail. I got my first one when I was 18, and I've been getting them pretty steadily ever since then. And I don't plan to…

Finish the Fargo Half-Marathon on May 21. I don't even care about my time...I just want to finish it (preferably without having to walk at all).

This might sound like a pessimistic response, but I think it's at least unflinchingly honest. I found it easy at first, too. I was gung-ho about losing weight and NOTHING was going to stop me. I could come to work and find the break room table stacked with bakery goodies, and I wouldn't go anywhere near them. Over time,…

Your situtation sounds VERY similar to mine. I started here in January as well, and I have lost about 13 pounds. And, like you, I had a fairly easy time staying under my calories at first, but I've been slipping more and more lately, until I'm approaching the point where I go over my calories more days than I stay under. I…

I think The Holy Grail is the funniest movie ever made. I don't think anything else even comes close. I've probably seen it 30 times or so, and there are still parts that make me laugh until I feel like my spine is bumping against my sternum and I'm going to suffocate.

Not many people seem to like it, but I love 'Cabin Boy.' I can watch it any number of times and still love it.

I never WANT to eat breakfast. I never have, and I never will. When I wake up in the morning, food is the last thing on my mind (which is kind of weird for me). I force myself to choke down a banana (stop giggling) and a granola bar anyway.

I didn't start my current weight loss journey until after grad school, but I would say that all of the same struggles still make an appearance in my life. I'm probably more broke now than I was when I was still in school. At least then I wasn't paying off my loans. :(

I find LOTS of people annoying--heck, MOST people--but Jillian doesn't really bother me.

I, too, have to contend with the temptation of free food in the break room nearly every day. When I first started on MFP, I avoided everything. I stayed strong. Lately, I haven't been doing such a good job. A couple days ago, there was free pizza AND fried chicken...and I indulged in both. Naughty me.

Judging from your profile picture, I'm not sure the 30-Day Shred would do you much good, to be honest. The main complaint that people have about those workouts is that they're a bit too easy. You appear to be in good enough shape that I don't know if 30-Day Shred would provide much of a challenge for you.

It's interesting to talk to different people about the road running vs. treadmill running issue. From a purely physiological perspective, one would assume that the treadmill is PHYSICALLY easier because a belt is doing some of the work for you. You sort of just have to pick your feet up and give yourself a small push, and…

For me, it really depends on the day. Sometimes I'm feeling strong, and I just go nuts. I push the machines to the limit. Other days, I'm just barely hanging in there, and I'm lucky to get a passive 30 minutes in. I try to just give it the best I feel I'm capable of on any given day.
-
I've got 155 listed as my final goal, but I think I would be happy at 165-170. I have kind of a larger frame, so I actually think that there's a chance that I wouldn't look good at 155, but I'd like to know that for sure. :)

A hot dog without condiments will probably be your best bet. The calories in hot dogs and buns can vary dramatically, so it's hard to say exactly what you'll be getting...but it will be better than nachos or anything like that, most likely.

Honestly, I still eat at Taco Bell all the time. Probably twice a week on average. 3 fresco softshell tacos is less than 600 calories (I don't recall the exact numbers off the top of my head). The sodium is super high, but I'm not really watching for that.

I wanna see this too. BUMP. I never think to take B/A pictures.
