Good luck with this. I need the good fats in my diet, and I know what I should be eating. But the MFP database has most everything at ZERO except for saturated fat. Very few foods has values for the unsaturated fats.

They are only as smart as its user. You need to know some things before you purchase one, then make an educated purchase based on the features you want/need.

Between work and a busy family schedule, I haven't found that answer either, but I am more determined than ever. Losing weight gets harder each year. If THAT's NOT motivation, nothing is.

Do you have a smartphone? Use the scanner option, makes things much easier. If you are going to restaurants, most chains have nutrition info on THEIR website. I have had my complaints as well though. The BIGGEST one being the database seems to ignore the UNSATURATED fats, it defaults to zero. I need these fats for heart…

IF YOU WANT GOOD RUNNING SHOES, DO NOT BUY CHEAP WALMART CRAP. Sorry for the caps, but this is the best advice anyone can give you. I know that's not what you were saying, but other people may look to this for advice.

I thought the same thing, Soldier. I could care less, the crap rap music shocks me more than anything. Who wants to hear "Stanky b****" (segue after Miley)? I remember when MTv played not only music, but GOOD music. That's why I love youtube. Spent Sunday night listening to a Burton Cummings special.

I have the same issues... but a good place to start is with Biggest Loser or Jillian's DVDs. They are a challenge. I also use my Wii Active. Does a good mix of both strength, cardio, and core building.

My avid biker buddies kept talking me into the special shoes and the clips and the locks, I just like wearing my regular tennies on flat pedals.

Welcome. You only get out of this what you put into it. Make sure you log accurately, eat proper nutrition, and exercise daily. Doesn't have to be an insanity or monster lifting... just do SOMETHING, even if it is a 15 min. walk.

as long as you are getting your daily recommended nutrients and aren't hungry, don't worry about eating back your exercise calories. So many people are worried about starvation mode... you have to be next to anorexic to get there. Do what works for YOU.
