I use a heart monitor when I am running. Mine is part of my watch and its a Garmin. A heart rate monitor is great if you are trying to maximize your workout. I highly recommend it.

I think you are on the right track. Stay away from refined foods, but don't worry so much about the total sugars. I think the important thing is that you concentrate on your caloric intake.

Here are a few tips... Have a meal before the party (lots of veggies) Drink 2 big glasses of water before your guests arrive. Always keep a glass of water in your hand during the night. Make sure you have a veggie platter tonight.

Alli is the same product as Xenical (just half the dose). It just eliminates part of the fat you are eating. It can cause poor bowel control if you are eating a high fat diet. I can have the benefit of keeping you on track and avoiding the high fatty foods.

I'm not a huge fan. Someone recommended that I cut down on the size of my pasta servings and substitute the with bean sprouts. I heat them up and add to my pasta...its surprised me how good it was. Give it a try.

It depends. 4oz cooked is approx 130cals. When I am creating a recipe and I don't know the caloric value I usually weigh it raw.

Your body will not start to burn calories efficiently until you "break the fast", hence breakfast. Your body goes into fasting mode during the night. You should eat something first thing to get your furnace going. That is why we refer to it as the most important meal of the day.

I go by the rule that any of my snacks that have more than 350mg of sodium I avoid. My meals should never exceed 1000mg of sodium. Remember that sodium is not just in salty foods. Salt is Sodium-Chloride, sodium is also present in baked goods.

Diet Soda is full of chemicals. Its okay once in a while, but I hate the idea of putting that crap in my body. Try sparkling water with a bit of lemon or lime. You'll be surprised how easy it is to switch.

Nope. I don't believe in any diet that cuts carb. Your body needs 3 macronutrients to function efficiently (fat, carbs and protein). Your body needs good carbs. Don't be upset. Just so you know it takes 2-3 days for extra calories to be stored as fat. So as long as you are very good for the next few days and get your excercise in, you should be okay. Remember it takes an additional 3500 cals to gain 1 pound. Don't get discouraged, this is all a process.

Chicken, chicken and more chicken. I buy a lot of it and precook it. I always have some in the fridge ready to throw into my salads. I also started buying the Dole pink grapefruit cups. They are only 100 cals and a great morning snack. Almonds are also a must. I have 24 almonds as an afternoon snack.

You're not hydrated enough. You need to increase your water intake. Try adding Crystal light to it if you are having a hard time.

Try eliminating carbs at night. I only eat complex carbs in the morning and at lunch. I replace the space on my plate with veggies and find it really filling. I also think your calorie intake is a bit aggresive. This may cause you to get hungry and discouraged...just my thoughts. Also notice that your snacks are very high…
