Not true. Give it another shot - you are worth it!

You can't always trust MFP database. I just typed in a search for buttered toast and came up with an entry for 2 slices at around 150cals. However, my lovely homemade white bread weighs in at 100 cals a slice and even if I only scrape 10g of butter on that would add up to 350 for 2 slices of my delicious toast. (Although,…

No, you are not destined to be overweight forever. First of all, you need to change that mindset. You can do it and you will succeed if it is what you really want. I have looked at your Food Diary and the sad reality is that you cannot have undereaten your calorie allowance for the last 2 weeks without losing any weight at…

The most important thing is to count those darned little calories. Every single thing that you eat or drink must be weighed and logged. There is no way that you are eating as little as you are recording in your diary without losing any weight at all....you must be completely honest with yourself. If you cheat, you are only…

Homemade vegetable soup. (Scientifically proven to be more filling than the same food not made into soup.) Very easy to make large batches and freeze portions. Very low in calories and very cheap if you buy vegetables which are in season. My trick to guarantee that the soup always tastes good is to use Marigold Vegetable…

The only thing that affects weight loss is the number of calories you put into your body. You can lose weight eating only chocolate biscuits as long as you don't go over the total calorie allowance for the day/week. However, if you want to be healthy as well as slimmer you need to eat a good range of food stuffs, lots of…

All that exercise and only 1200 calories a day but no weight loss!!!! Methinks you don't know how to count calories. Are you just guessing?....you really have to weigh and log everything that you eat or drink. Put more effort into recording the food and less time lifting boring old weights and you will get results. I do no…

I don't see a problem with that at all. I do the 5:2 diet which basically gives you a calorie limit for the whole week. So on two of the days I eat a lot less (about 25% of a normal day) and the other 5 eat normally. I have managed a slow but steady weight loss of nearly 2 stones over 18 months. Try it....you can always…

Pizza Hut also have 3 different pizzas on their menu that come in at under 500 calories each. Loads of restaurants have menus on their websites so you can check out where you are going and find something that will work for you. Good luck and have a fab day in London.

You are eating way too much salt though........a balanced diet is best for all-round health. How about trying less time at the gym and more time cooking from scratch; nice, healthy, unprocessed food?

Seems like you just answered your own question!

Never.....that's right, I don't! Life keeps me busy and active :) Gyms depress me :(

:drinker: Well, wine is basically just grapes!

In the UK, we have a television programme called 'Secret Eaters'. People supply their very healthy food diaries and then agree to be filmed for a week. You would be amazed at the difference between what people are convinced they are eating and what they actually put into their bodies! Lots of 'forgotten' popping in to cake…

I never got the hang of WW points. Weigh everything you eat and count up the calories. MFP is a great help for this. I'd say you could just about make your goal if you monitor everything. Good luck.

I think that's a great idea. I used to weigh out my daily allowance of butter to make sure I didn't go over. I wonder if you really need to be eating so much protein for breakfast and lunch ( I assume you have meat again in the evening). Meat once a day should be a maximum really. My successes have always been with calorie…

You probably won't like this but a sensible and sustainable weight loss should be 1 to 2 pounds per week. If you set yourself an unreasonable target you will just feel bad if you don't achieve it. I have successfully lost weight several times over many years and, for me, the only way to do it is calorie counting. MFP…

You have done a fantastic job. Don't get hung up on numbers or you will never be happy. Focus on enjoying your newfound lighter body and accept that this is the right end point for you. Trust your own sense of self. Well done you.

I wouldn't log walking to the tube as exercise. That should be covered by whether or not you stated a 'sedentary' or 'active' lifestyle when setting your goals. Just add exercise if it's something over and above normal day-to-day activity. You are right not to be too obsessive about everything you eat, however, if you have…

Porridge is probably the healthiest, most-filling breakfast. I love my eggs though, and I think averaging 7 eggs over a week would be reasonable. I used to make a milkshake with one raw egg, skimmed milk and honey (whizzed in the blender) - quick, delicious and makes your hair shine too!

I think a lot of diets recommend drinking a glass of water about 15 minutes before a meal. It wouldn't hurt to try. Also, you should get into the habit of eating as slowly as possible - putting your cutlery down in between each mouthful and chewing slowly. Finally, try and have something to do after eating to distract you…

I just loaded my homemade flapjack recipe and it came out at just under 200 calories a serving. I might have to cut it into smaller pieces. Most of the calories come from the oats and the butter, so maybe you could try a low-fat butter to cut it back a bit more. Here is my recipe: 150g butter, 100g light brown sugar, 2…
