These types of meals are exactly what helps me lose weight. Pastas and refined foods are deadly for me and the older I get the more they instantly result in swelling and bloat. Thanks for posting some meal planning ideas :)

We are going on 16 years as well, but our anniversary is October 3rd. Happy early anniversary :)

Hey all, I'm looking to lose 20 lbs by May 23rd... will still have a long way to go but the thought of feeling 20 lbs lighter at the start of the summer season sounds good to me! :)

Positive choices I made yesterday (since I didn't get on to post)... I increased by water intake... since it's so cold here i added plain decaf hot tea to get more fluids. I left some of my lunch when I was full. I took the time to have breakfast instead of leaving myself starving by lunchtime. :)

Yes! Healthy food choices does seep into other areas as well :) Glad you were able to work things out, nice job!

I didn't have such a good day food wise so I'm really digging for some positives here. Right now I'm drinking water, I'm having fresh salad at dinner and watching my portion sizes. We have a nasty snow storm going on today and I got into that hibernation mode and ended up skipping breakfast and overeating for lunch. I…

I have such a mix depending on my mood and what type of exercise I'm doing. Sometimes when I'm walking in nature I like to listen to soft piano or meditation music. If I'm doing cardio at the gym I like music that gets me moving, that's a wide variety thought lol. Sometimes it's 80's music, sometimes current, sometimes…

HI all, 46 yrs old and I'm either perimenopausal or seriously losing my mind! Been dealing with mood swings, anxiety, hot flashes, heavy periods, weight gain, water weight, the list goes on and on lol. I'm still fairly regular, just heavier and shorter in duration. I think someone else posted about lack of coping with…

Sending you an add request... I need to lose 60 lbs, would love some motivation as I have fell off the wagon last year. I'm realizing at 46 just how much this is wreaking havoc on me physically. I want to challenge myself physically but at the moment I feel like a big snowman :P Anyone else looking for motivation and…

Would love this, I need some motivation right now so I'm in :)

ditto for me... I'm struggling with that "mid-life" metabolism and perimenopause and find it so frustrating that I gain even more easily than in the past. I agree with the other posts -- add friends on this site for support. It really does help.

oops, I forgot my fitness event! I have been doing Billy Blanks DVD's but my goal this month is to add bicycling to the mix. My bike has been in the shed for two years and is getting very lonely... looking to do some miles on the weekends.

Hi all, this is my first challenge on MFP and I really need the accountability! My last weigh in about a week ago was 181 so I was disappointed to be up again :( But, my body is holding water right now so I'm expecting the scale to tip in the opposite direction within a week or so. Really grateful to have found this…

I'm in too... I'm 45 and struggling with weight gain. I've never been this heavy and I miss the energy level I had 50 pounds ago. Would love a 40-50 age support group.

I'm 45, the pounds have been piling on since 40... looking for motivated friends to support each other - feel free to add :)

food addiction has been a struggle for me for as long as I can remember. Others can regulate the amounts to avoid a binge, for me, it's more all or nothing. When I eat certain foods I crave more and more and it spirals out of control. Once it's out of control it's so hard to get back to sane and healthy eating (at least…

I gave up on ear buds, I could NEVER find any that work - and I've been through a lot. There was an RCA brand years ago that worked but I haven't been able to find them in a long time. I now use incase headphones. http://goincase.com/products/detail/EC30006?gclid=CPiMyMnJ7bUCFYje4AodRCMA8w might be a bit awkward looking…

Have you had blood work done to check your thyroid levels? Or to look for any hormonal imbalances? I'm 45 and gain weight way more easily than in the past. It's so frustrating to work so hard and see the scale either not moving or going in the opposite direction. I had some blood work done due to weight gain and was…

Hi everyone, my name is Sue, 45 years old and looking to release at least 55 lbs. I've struggled with weight my whole life, but the past five years (after 40) it just has been piling on like mad. I stared with MFP a few weeks ago and have been making some changes: adding exercise and trying very hard to stay within my…
