  • Congrats to you!! You look amazing and by you saying that you're getting ready to do a marathon, I can only imagine that you are feeling great as well.
  • If you add 1/2 cup of low-fat or even fat free cottage cheese to the tomato, that will give it some protein factor. Most cottage cheese's in a single serving have about 14g of protein. Years ago, I would make a salad with tomato, lettuce and lunch meat (I now would use reduced fat or low sodium ham or turkey) and instead…
  • Do what you know is right for YOU. Don't let the negative people get you down. From the posts I've read before I've made this one, everyone has said what I was thinking or even what I could say. You know yourself what works for you. Keep up the good work :)
  • Fantastic job!! You look great by the way :)
  • I can see the difference from when I first started to now, but now that I'm "smaller" I don't see the differences. I can tell a difference in my clothes though. So I guess that's a start.
  • After I had lost about 30 pounds I HAD to start buying new clothes and I had gone down 2 pant sizes. I don't buy every month, but I'm due to buy a few more pair of smaller pants here in about a month or so, my smaller pants I bought and that were given to me, are now starting to fall down. I am now down 4 pant sizes. I…
  • Welcome to the site and good luck on your journey! You will find most everyone is supportive. :) You can do it.
  • What about a wrap? Reduced fat and/or low sodium lunch meat, wrapped with a slice of reduced fat cheese and wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla shell? I used Eckrich low salt ham (about 2 oz), 1 slice of reduced fat swiss cheese and a small whole wheat tortilla shell, comes to about 18g of protein. Another alternative to the…

  • For the most part, I eat healthy. I have stayed away from the burgers at McDonald's. If I'm going to have a burger, it's one that is home cooked, or I will get one at a "real" restaurant. Even then, I'm only eating half of it at most. I will have "treats" I'm not denying myself anything. It's all in moderation.
  • Get to the goal you want to get to.. then go from there, if you feel that you need/want to go lower then take it in 5 pound increments (more or less.. depending on you). Of course, you may also decide that a weight is your ideal before you reach your goal. I have a goal I want to get to, I want to get to 195, but I'm…
  • Awesome job! I don't know you, but proud of you for your dedication and will power to stick with it :) It's not easy... but in the end, you will feel wonderful about yourself and the "new" you! :) Keep up the great work! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • I usually drink 2 - 1 liter bottles per day (sometimes more). I have a bottle of water with me all the time. Because I can only sip at the water makes it a bit more difficult at times though. I will also flavor the water. I've found the best for me is Dasani water enhancer. I used Crystal Light and the Wal Mart brand as…

  • Don't give up!! I know what our spouse/significant other and/or family members sometimes say can be the downfall to us and our emotional eating. I have lived with that almost my entire life. While growing up and while I was married I would hear "If you lost weight, you'd be pretty". I still have issues with that to this…
  • There are ways to cook healthier, but it still taste very good. For instance, instead of ground beef, I will use ground turkey or ground chicken.. and will use some ground buffalo (which is a bit more expensive.. but it's a treat)... Also, watch the sugar content of foods like spaghetti sauces, bbq sauces..... I will also…
  • You can do it! Keep in mind, that as you exercise (move) you will lose fat but gain muscle (which weighs more)... but if you watch what you eat.. moderation... and what I do is eat my protein first, then I move on to vegetables, then to the starches...which I usually don't have room for. When I go out to restaurants to…
  • I have in the past, thrown the brown rice in the rice cooker, added the water (sometimes chicken broth), spices, AND the chicken breast and then steamed it all together. Doesn't taste too bad... Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • At my heaviest, I'm not proud of the fact now (nor was I then) but I was able to eat an entire pizza.. by myself... I would binge eat.. Be out driving and just crave a double cheeseburger or chicken mcnuggets... I'd drink at LEAST a 2 liter of Diet Coke a day, if not more... Definitely wasn't eating healthy... I would also…
