I was doing well in May ... then got sidelined by a breast cancer diagnosis. It was a complete shock; I had no family history, and the cancer was found on a routine screening mammogram. It was tiny, and I didn't have a palpable lump. I'm on the other side of surgery now. The surgeon got it all, and there was no node…

Last week: Went over my calorie goal on three days, not by a lot, but enough that I posted a 0.3# gain this week. =( The positive thing is that I tracked every single day, even when it got ugly. This week: Same as last week. Track every day, stay at or under my calorie goal, lose 1#. This will be a challenge, as we're…

Last week: Aimed to track every day, stay within my calorie allotment every day, and lose 1#. I tracked every day and lost 3#, although I did screw up yesterday and go over my calorie allotment. This week: Same as last week -- track every day (even if it gets ugly, like yesterday), stay within my calorie allotment every…

Last week: Fell off track because I went out of town for the weekend (although it was to run a 12K on Saturday and a half on Sunday, which helped mitigate some of the damage). This week: Track daily, stay within my daily calories, lose 1#.

Good for you, Cindy, and good to see you here! Last year, I was at a weight that my doctor said was fine for me, even though my BMI was a perfect 25. Then, last fall, my other doctor had to switch out my bcp's because of my blood pressure, which was out of control. The good news was that my BP plummeted. The bad news was…

I'm tracking here and employing the principles I learned from WW, e.g., if I'm hungry in between a meal, I reach for fruit instead of crackers or tortilla chips. As I mentioned in another thread, I like how I can use MFP to track things like protein and sodium, not just food consumption. The latter is really important for…

Echoing what others have said: The workouts are great. I own P90X and Insanity. I've been through both of them, and I still use them as cross-training for my running. The supplements, including Shakeology, are overpriced garbage, and the "coaching" is a scam. I tried "coaching" very briefly, a couple of years ago, because…

I'm partial to Beachbody's workout DVDs. I've done P90X and Insanity. If I were to try a cardio tape, I'd do TurboFire or Les Mills Combat; both look like fun, and a lot people seem to like them. (Disclaimer: no, I am not a coach. I tried it briefly, and it was most definitely NOT for me, but I still enjoy Beachbody's…
