I am 5'9 and weigh 168, after a fifty pound weight loss. This is the top of a normal BMI, which was my initial goal starting out. I look great and people are very complimentary. But I can see that I have more body fat than I'd like. My focus now is to reach 158 and then reassess. My body is confusing, I can't pin down what…

Weighing and measuring, is the number one tool, in my fifty+ pound weight loss. I cannot emphasize it enough. If I could give it a medal I would. Measuring cups can be inaccurate though, and little inaccuracies can add up over a weeks time. Weighing is usually the best. It's second nature now to use my scale, not the least…

Pretty much any statement, that is pre-faced with a disclaimer. Annoying, and I try not to do it.

Oh I love walking and hiking. I've lost 50 pounds doing so. Experiencing nature, can do more, than a gym ever could. Of course this is an individual thing. Just start with the thing that will get you moving, and is sustainable. Gung ho beginnings rarely are sustainable.

My starting weight was 218 pounds. I am 5'9", 54 year old female. Current weight 168.5 Goal weight to be determined. I set goals for 5 pounds at a time. Currently I am in a normal BMI range, but the very top of that range. My daily goal for calories is 1200 if I am sedentary. Exercise days I will sometimes eat half of my…

I only feel kind of bad if I eat too much. Doesn't seem to matter if it's broccoli or chocolate cake. Moderation in all things works for me.

1. Weighing and measuring everything that passed my lips 2. Tracking everything that passed my lips 3. Limit eating out, and when I do, I make smart choices. Usually requires pre-planning. 4. Never leave the house for extended errands without healthy, low calorie, protein snacks. Tuna packs are great. 5. Exercise, duh! 6.…

Wow! You look fantastic! And what an inspiration, for all those junk food eating, young adults you work with! You must inspire them greatly.

Santa Fe Turkey burrito, with my nutrition bomb salad. This dinner is a fav in my household. Double chocolate Vitatop for dessert.

I'm 5'9"+ some. I 've lost 45 pounds total since September. I'm pretty new to MFP. Not sure what my final goal will be. But I am 4 pounds to the goal I first set, and that is a normal BMI.

The seafood buffet at Atlantis Resort, Reno. OMG, crab legs, oysters, clams, fish of different types. I avoided the saucy, gooey preparations, but still!!! Sheer volume was epic. I have no idea the calories. No way could I have estimated it. No worries though, rare events don't make a failure, still reaching my goals...

Sounds like you eating too diety. Learn to cook, and prepare delicious foods. I now crave some of my own dishes. The internet is a wonderful tool for that. skinnytaste is just one resource.

I love the fatter me. She was on the one who got her act together. and said enough is enough. She was the one who gave up the high calorie food. She was the one who got me on my feet, when it hurt to do so. I love her, she got me where I am today. Forty five pounds lighter, fitter, and near to goal. I had good self esteem…

Eileen Northern California, Sierra Nevada To lose this last fifteen pounds (I've lost 45), to get stronger, to hike farther, faster, higher. My favorite healthy food, is what I call my nutrition bomb salad. My favorite high fat food is pizza, and Mexican food. Love the outdoors and nature. Camping, hiking, etc.

McCann's quick cook Irish Oatmeal+applesauce+cinnamon+vanilla+safflower oil, zap it. Sometimes I do walnut oil instead of safflower, have to add it after it cooks, as walnut oil is bitter if you cook it. Love my oatmeal, eat it everyday.

Thanks for starting this group. I'be been following your topic on the message board. Very informational. All the side chatter was annoying, glad to be here.

Some people need hand holding, I don't.

I'm not a shy person, but I am very private. I have to make a conscious effort to connect, as it is not my nature. What can I say, I love my own company. I laugh at my own jokes, and can pat my own back. That said I'd like to have more connections. This seems like a good place to start.

Make very sure you are tracking accurately. Weigh or measure everything. Do that before you decide to eat more food, you might be taking in more calories than you think. That said, you are losing weight, so you are doing okay.

Just wanted to wish all the challengers good luck, and lend my support. I will be skipping this challenge, don't want to skip weigh in. You can do it! I'll be out there exercising, and eating right, right along with you!

I like to watch cooking shows, but I found they make me want to eat, even if I'm not hungry. For that reason I try to avoid them, lol.

I think board shorts with either a bikini or tankini top, looks great on us, long legged, long torso women. Board shorts are flattering, and they come in different inseams. I feel sporty and confiden,t the thigh jiggle is hidden. O'neal is one brand for board shorts, Columbia is another. Dries fast! I like these sites:…

I have a question for the group. I would like to do more with weights. Are there good videos with instruction? Now that I am closer to goal I really need to build some muscle.

Weigh and or measure your food intake precisely.

Hello, I'm Eileen. I am 54 and live in Northern California. I decided not to accept, that it is nearly un-doable, to lose weight post menopause. Total weight loss to date is 45 pounds. I am stoked, and feel goal is totally doable. Married for 33 years to my guy, who still makes my knees weak! Was a professional mom for…

Loading up on fruits is not following the WW's program. It is in the materials.

I've lost the majority of my weight following WW online. It's a good program if you follow it, even the free fruits and veggies. WW's tells you in its materials you have to be sensible with the fruit, it is not a free for all. That said, I have been happy tracking at MFP for several weeks now (WW's as well). I wanted to…
