Coffee, oats, ground flax seed and blueberries.

First I would want to know if you prepare your food, or grabbing restaurant food. It’s amazing just how much food you can eat, and maintain a deficit, when you prepare your own food. Using sound nutrition guidelines, cooking for yourself, goes a long way, to solving the problem of will power. It will also leave room for…

I log everything, and use a food scale. I lost 70 pounds and into a few years of maintaining. All attributed to accuracy and accountability. Science shows us a large number if not most of us will regain, I keep this in the back of my mind.

When I was losing (maintaining now) I quickly learned good nutrition was essential to achieving and sustaining a deficit. So glad I paid attention to that, it makes maintaining so much easier. I never dieted, I changed my lifestyle and it's working as I live, long term weight management.

I must have a different definition of hard. Big picture it could not be easier, sigh.

Tap water, black coffee, unsweetened iced tea.

If you can dine out in a restaurant for 600 calories, you are doing great. In reality that is pretty hard to do.
-
Using your words I have a "cheat meal", not day. It's just a meal, no special connotation, other than an evening out, and a break from the kitchen.

Being able to cook, is one of the biggest advantages to have, while losing weight. Don't give that up!

I didn't eat them back, when I had my big weight loss, 70 pounds. Now I am working on a few vanity pounds (5) I feel terrible and somewhat dizzy if I don't eat them.

Anyone can get to any weight, if they consume low enough calories, genetics be damned. However what folks call genetics I would call learned behavior, at least when it comes to body weight.

K cup coffee Babybel cheese Raw almonds Vodka When my kids were at home, my list was much larger. Sometimes we purchase non food items.

I use it in oatmeal. I like it.

I do all kinds of delicious things to my oatmeal. It's a wonderful healthy base for so many options. Cottage cheese is okay, but really it just would get boring. I look forward to my oatmeal (therefore stay compliant to my deficit.)

Today I had an egg+eggbeaters scrambled, over a large bed of wilted spinach. Dress the whole thing with pics de gallo, sriacha sauce.

I am 5'9", medium frame. I give myself a weight range, a 5 pound window so to speak. This morning the scale said 156. I look lean and fit.
-
My scale has been the most useful practice in my weight loss. After goal I got a bit lazy and weight starting slowly creeping back. Back to the scale, and back to goal. But to your question, no you don't have to use a scale to lose.

We eat between 5:30 and 6:00. I stop eating when I reach my calorie target.

I've heard way too many people say, I've started working out, why am I not losing? In fact I've gained! Versus, I started eating at a modest deficit, and I've lost weight. I thought it would be harder. Every person I know who has attempted to lose weight through excercise as gained. Most overestimate calories burned.

For every box of plain oats I have ever seen, 40g dry is one serving.

I'm the same height as you, 159 pounds. Your weight loss goal is too aggressive.
-
I have both every morning, oatmeal with a cup of berries, with a hard boiled egg on the side.

My seventy pound loss was achieved by what I did in the kitchen. My fitness goals came about through an evolution, starting with walking to my mailbox. Fast forward over three years, now I run, lift weights, kayak, hill and mountain hiking. Maintaining my weight loss, and having a great time at 58! But...none of that would…

My breakfast of oatmeal, walnut oil, berries with a hard boiled egg on the side, keeps me going well into the afternoon.

You're eating more than you think.

Well the obvious ways to save money are buy fruits and vegetables in season. Stock up on frozen vegetables when on sale. Buy the bulk packs of frozen fish and lean meats and poultry. Dried beans are super cheap. Of course portion control is a great money saver.
-
I hike, kayak, run, lift. I did jazzercise years ago, it was fun, and a good overall workout.
-
I started just walking to my mailbox for my exercise. Now I run, and hike and lift.

Losing weight in menopause is no different than at other life stages. I some ways easier, especially if kids have flown the coop. I lost 70 pounds, through honest and accurate weighing of foods. I did minimize simple carbs, mainly they left me hungry fast! Protein and fiber are very satiating for me. I really minimized the…

I promise you it gets easier, even second nature. It's totally normal to be sort of confused at first.
