Hearing "He did it off his own back" drives me crazy - it's "BAT", FGS! Then there's "Talking ten to the dozen" to mean someone is speaking quickly - errrr, 10 is less than a dozen - or it was last time I checked And "I could of...", instead of "I could have..." Sorry to be such a pedant!

I also enjoyed his work best when he was playing a dramatic role, rather than an out and out comedy, e.g. - Good Will Hunting - Good Morning Vietnam - Dead Poets Society - The World According to Garp Etc... I also thought his stand up routines and the way he 'performed' in many interviews were fab Such a sad loss, may he…

Went shopping today for a pair of technical trousers for hiking. Took size 14 (expected size) and size 12 (optimistic size) into the changing room. Had to send my boyfriend to get a pair of SIZE 10 (!!!) which is what I bought. Floated out of that shop on cloud 9! ETA: for info, that's US sizes 10, 8 and 6 respectively

I got my first in my late 20s and now have my hair coloured every 4 weeks - now at 49, I'm as grey as a badger underneath the dye! The worst moment tho, was noticing that first grey pube... :noway: :noway: :noway: ETA: age

Today I tried on my favourite Little Black Dress, which I bought WAAAAY back in 1998 for a first date. Hasn't been anywhere near fitting me for about 10 years (yeah, I know, I'm a hoarder!), but it's now a little loose.

70 kg deadlift this morning - that's 154lb which is 8lb over my current body weight). Only been lifting for about 3 weeks; 40 kg seemed hard back then...

Sorry I'm a bit late joining again - just back from my jollies, 7 weeks to the next trip and I need to get much fitter in preparation for hiking the Inca Trail. So aiming for 75 miles this month, probably about half running, half walking. Ticker to follow!

Ok, so fell a little short of my target, but WOW, the walking here in Saxon Switzerland is incredible. Fabulous day. Looking forward to August's challenge tho and will try to do much more actual running! ETA: well done everyone for your achievements in July!

Away on a walking holiday at the moment, doing some lovely hills in Saxon Switzerland, Germany. Absolutely beautiful scenery, but very hot and humid! Adding to my mileage is tough!

Getting there, slowly...

Another 3.5 miles run today, followed by 1.5 miles walking

You look amazing - well done and thanks for the inspiration!

I'm 5'1" and have slim ankles but what I've always thought of as really thick calves, which I put down to muscle built when I was doing gymnastics as a kid - my nickname in high school was chicken legs  Fast forward to today and they're still pretty well defined when I flex, but feel a bit flabby when relaxed.…
