You can do it, set yourself really achievable goals...if you don't need to lose weight then set yourself a maintenance plan..and make those calories really healthy ones..then get exercising......set goals for those......and eat your exercise calories back with protein..you should then convert fat to muscle...which will…

I'm the same as you, never used to drink water, have noticed that as I get used to it and drink more..the thirstier I get....weird
-
I agree with this...plus you are giving yourself a massive calorie deficit..and as you don't have a lot to lose you will find it harder to shift the weight..the bigger the deficit the more your body will hold onto the weight. You need to be looking at converting your body fat to lean muscle...and I'm afraid you can't do…

There is nothing wrong with that..I do it myself..the sort of undereating we..and the OP are talking about are those who are netting 5-6-700 cals or in some cases even less a day on a regular basis..and working out...and people still say wtg excellent..well sorry its not..not on a site that promotes a healthy…

My comment to you made as a health professional is I'm afraid that if your food diary is correct is that you are not healthy..its just not possible for an active 22 yr old girl to eat as little as you are doing and not be losing lean muscle mass...and remember your heart is your most precious muscle. The pattern of…

eat asparagus..its a brilliant natural diuretic and low in cals
-
What you say is very true........I think we are quick to congratulate when perhaps we should really be offering supportive criticism instead...I actually read the diaries before I comment.....some don't.

I'm with you, I have changed a lot of what I eat...I used to eat sandwiches at Lunchtime now I eat crispbread or have an ommelette because two small slices of bread with a bit of nothing between them does not satisfy my 'brain'. LOL

Posting for week 2..Rosy, down my usual 1lb to 241.....boring but regular LOL.
-
Another 1lb loss for me wk 2 Rosy..down to 241.....very envious of the big losers but whatever I do it never shifts off in multiples for me..whether I eat my allowed cals plus exercise..or don't eat all my cals..its usually the same reult..so I may as well enjoy the calories LOL!!

I have two tickers, one for this years losses..and one that give my overall losses & target....
-
Congrats Numpties...grrrrrrrrr.....LOL...and a wow fantastic..amazing..to IanGiles (NN) for his 13.4lbs more than I've lost this year in a week!!!
-
I have a really sweet tooth...so have to eat either artificially sweetened stuff or fruit...salt is not a problem...I use loads of pepper & herbs instead..and home cook most of my food..diary is open. Regarding holding down food...I might be able to help if I knew a bit more about the problem.(.I'm not a Dr) but I have had…

brilliant idea, i love pasta and carrots so this will be tried for sure
-
All true, but this info is really aimed at those that eat a protein exclusive diet...if your diet is balanced..ie also includes fruit & veg you are very unlikely to eat enough protein to damage your body.
-
Agree with Melanie, one meal can't possibly make any difference..lighten up & enjoy yourself..this is for life remember..you can't be regimented every day..you still have to have a life!

Brilliant advice..and yes I fit the remit of terrified I was too fat/old to work out like this..but I walk...and I do exactly as you suggest...at first I did it just to see if I could...I could..so now I try to increase it each time I walk....yesterday I actually managed a few jogging spells....a real breakthrough for…

Happy to report a 1lb loss for the week to 242.....right on target.......not massive but steady.
-
I hear you and see why you may have taken offense at the OP's first remarks....whilst she obviously meant well..and in basic fact was right in what she said..it was perhaps a little tactless..which if she takes the time to read your profile as I have done...she might understand your point of view. My husband has…

Hard to help really when we cant see your food diary...what you eat and how often can make a difference.
-
The simple answer is yes of course you can, however make sure you do 'use' the calories you've saved or you are depriving your body of the calories it needs.
-
Yes Yes Yes, what a sensible answer........it really does boil down to establishing an eating & exercise routine that is achievable, sustainable & relevant to tomorrow as well as today.......this particular penny only dropped with me last year after a lifetime of yo yo dieting......by living with a massive calorie deficit…

Add me if you want..I'm well known for speaking my mind.........I also don't mind being tld a few home truths myself LOL....don't always listen though!

True fat loss as opposed to lbs shown on the scales does not happen overnight....it takes time to metabolise the fat...so eating over on one day & less the next makes no real difference & some believe that zig zagging helps....so as long as you are netting a weekly total of 7 x your 1200 in a week thats great. You are…
-
Yes its much harder to lose as you get older, and especially AFTER menapause....when I was in my 40's I got really very fit, perhaps the fitest of my entire life...so it can be done, but you do have to work at it...now in my late 50's its really hard, exercise is harder due to worn out joints...and its sometimes hard to…

Read this thread, it deals well with your situation http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing

Dried fruit is always high in sugar, they are healthy..but maybe fresh fruit is a better choice.
-
When you feel hungry go for protein, although its more calorie dense it keeps you feeling full for longer. A quick look at your diary shows you like carbs quite a lot & tend to go for potato, rice, pasta etc..whilst nothing wrong with these they do cause blood sugar spikes..which are followed by a crash which makes us…

I would eat fish/salmon/cod/tuna/sardines/mackerel/trout/prawns/mussels infact any fish twice a day happily if I could afford to. Sadly I can't so its two or three times a week at present!

Also you left a post on another thread an old one and stated will it work even though I don't eat all the calories...well if you don't follow the plan and it dosn't work..it won't be MFP at fault will it? Give the site a try..but at least follow the plan for a few weeks before altering it..you have to give it a chance.
