Smoothies. I make a smoothie every morning with lots of kale, bananas, strawberries and almond milk. It is a perfect way to get veggies in.

I wouldn't drive 1.5 hours for a gym. That being said I swear by Crossfit and I am in the best shape of my life. I still workout out alone but I tend to push myself harder at Crossfit. I log about 100 calories for every 10 minutes of Crossfit. But I ONLY count the time that I am actually very active and heart rate is above about 135. Not usually the whole hour. On average this is about 30 minutes. Hope this helps.

Both are good. I prefer garmin because I am a runner and you can't beat garmin for running. It provides a lot of data that you can totally nerd out on. I found Fitbit to be simple. I have the forerunner 235. Good luck.
