I think there are 2 modes in which we think about food while changing our eating habits. 1 is ‘thinking’ - this is the place where we plan, look at items, try to see what fits in our day or our protein count. It’s our meal prep, our meal planning & how we think about getting variety not being bored & trying new recipes.…

It’s funny - I’ve been changing my eating for close to a year and lost 11kg so far, and I run a mix of strategies depending how much notice I have & how I feel in the day. I was thinking about it & find it interesting that people run a few strategies together - but my partner is very different - he just accepts what he…

It can be normal to be hungry in the beginning while you adjust to the lower calories. But not long term and not all the time. Really try to focus on the foods which make you feel full, either protein, fats or carbs. Usually there’s one which will work for you & you need to plan to incorporate more into your diet. Also try…

Thanks for all the reply’s - I use food scales for everything & have done for over half a year. And I know that’s the usual culprit for lack of loss. Thanks for all the advice on scales as well as body. I’ll keep working away - it is indeed perhaps a woosh waiting to happen.

I have an under active thyroid - I’ve lost close to 8kg. Take your replacement medication everyday. Work out, build muscle & eat less calories. For me that’s 1300 - depends how much you have to loose. But it’s not a factor is loosing weight just the whole lifestyle you need to maintain a healthy one.

Thanks for all the input! I worked from home on Friday so took my 1/2 a salad back home & weighed it! It came out at 483 for the 1/2 bowl (& was a very small bowl at 7 inches wide & 2 inches high) that was left. I know quinoa is quite dense so only had 1 spoon of it & only 1tablesoon of couscous (until I seen the quinoa)…

I've had hyperthyroid issues since i was16! I'm on 100mc (you don't want it too high as your body will get used to it) and no it's not easy, it's puts you at a disadvantage but I'm here to tell you it's possible. Yes you have to be more careful & weigh & track at a lower intake than most people (I'm on 1300 calories a day)…
