I try to stay around 1300 calories, but mainly count my fat grams. Try to stay at 42/day. That helps me more than the counting calories.

I love to walk, about 3-5 miles a day (more on weekends). Summer time I ride my bike to work and take weekend bike rides. Use free weights and if the weather is crappy outside I like to use our Wii and Just Dance. Also love the stability ball for abs. Summer is also time for those weekend mountain hikes (Montana).

It happens to all of us, just have to move on and let it go. I keep a secret stash of Hershey kisses in my freezer and I will usually have 1 or 2 every day just for the perk. We will get to the eating healthy and exercising habit....then when a slip happens it will be no big deal because we will go back to our good habits.…

Great posts!! I too have done watch watchers and did great on it, however, seems like I get to a point and hit a plateau with them. Now, I don't worry as much about what the scale says (use it as a monitor). I am just going to continue living healthy and getting my exercise!

I'm 5'1", sorry for posting in the 5'2" to 5'4" but I can relate. In my 20's at my healthiest weight and BMI, I weighed 150 lbs. I am built like a NFL fullback....anyways, I am 49 now and weigh 184, but wear a size 12, so I am shooting for 160 and see how I feel and how my health looks....Good luck all!!!

I hit that same craving at 3:00 too. I usually have an apple and a 100-calorie Smartpop popcorn. Fills me up, healthy and is very satisfying.

Your singing my song!!! Totally sucks. I have started working out (a lot) with both cardio and strength training, have lost 6-pounds, but have lost two sizes!! It is really hard work though. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis on top of it. Hang in there!!!

I'm 49 and 5'1" and weigh 190. I have a calorie balance of 1300 and don't eat back all of my exercise calories and I am losing about 2 pounds a week. But, I am in a program for pre-diabetes and we count primarily fat grams (mine for the day are 42) and calories secondary. We also do a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise…

I understand what you are going through. I quit smoking January and actually did pretty good on the weight gain, less than 5 pounds. I am overweight but have always been active, no I don't run marathons, but love to walk and would for at least an hour every day as well as dance aerobics. That all changed as I have RA and…

I quit smoking January 20, 2013. I spoke to my doctor and tried the Chantix, and lucky for me, it is free with our insurance. It worked for me, I also have the habit of holding something (especially when driving), so I did order a e-cig with no nicotine. It works for me and helps when I'm having a beer and want a…

I always keep a supply of snacks in my drawer too, one of my favorites is the Baked Pringle Stix, they are 80 calories but satisfies my chip craving...sometimes eat with an apple in the afternoon to get over the 3:00 p.m. blahs.
