Most people just do this. So instead of eating white bread they'll eat wholemeal for example. My best advice for fitness is to sign up for some personal training sessions and get a program drawn up for you. Especially one you can follow at home. Most don't use fancy equipment and you can buy these sorts of things at all…

My boyfriend is my accountability partner and my biggest supporter. I let him know how I went at the gym and if I've been good with my eating. He just wants me to be happy and healthy. I'll sometime mention to my Mum about my weight and eating. Usually I talk to her about the gym :) I'm trying to convince her to come to…

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find all the support you need right here on this site  As for the portion size, try using a much smaller plate. I know I always feel cheated if I have a big plate but only half the food I usually do. A small plate fills up quicker and if you're still hungry after eating that, drink some…

I found fitness classes at a gym the best option. If you talk to the instructors about your knees before you start the class, they can help you modify the exercises. For example, there's a lady in my Zumba class with joint problems and she just doesn't do all the jumping that we do. She's still getting a great workout in!…

Take it easy on your other days. I love Aqua Aerobics! I find if I'm particularly sore, taking it easy in Aqua actually helps ease my sore muscles. So long as you don't overdo it, I'm sure you'll be fine! Excellent information from a previous poster about rest days.

My body's pretty happy with a net calories of 1200 - 1500. I guess it depends on what works for you. If you're hungry, you need to eat. If you're not hungry, drink some water and don't eat. Too many times I've reached for snacks when really I just needed a big glass of water. Your net calories shouldn't be anything lower…

My sister and I have always been good students. We were usually straight A's (except for sport but we weren't athletic kids!). My parents always pushed for us to use our full potential. We were encouraged to try our hardest and ALL homework and assignments had to be completed. There was no negotiating. The only subject…

I work at a cinema so I've got popcorn, sweets and a foodcourt downstairs to worry about. People are always sharing chips and sweets and fries! As lovely as it is, you really need to stick to your guns. Each lunch break I see people fork out money for chips, hotdogs, foodcourt rubbish and lollies! I got teased for being…

It's almost as if the sign-up process should calculate your BMI and then show you the healthy BMI range for your height. Then, it should ask your for your "Ultimate Goal Weight" and only allow you to choose between that healthy range. We should all aim to be within our healthy range and feeling happy and comfortable with…

Unfortunately, it just takes time. I lost weight from my butt first :frown: and my love handles are slowly receding. Just keep going with your cardio and chuck in some toning exercises like oblique twists and those sit-ups you're already doing. I'm trying to lose from my thighs and while I'm doing Zumba, Aqua and a…

You're doing an amazing job! You're fitting into clothes you never thought you would and you, yourself are noticing physical changes. While a number on a scale is great when you're making the decision to get back to a certain weight but really what counts is how you feel. If you feel great and happy with yourself then…

Your picture of your goal weight looks amazing. We have the same goal - to get back to a happy and healthy weight. I don't want to be skinny, I just want to feel great in my clothes and it wouldn't hurt to wear a bikini without hiding behind a sarong! A victory is a victory, own it and look forward to the days ahead. x (By…

If there's a gym near you, I'd give them a call and see what a personal training session would cost. They could draw a program up for you. I found the best way to get started was to join a gym and work closely with my trainer. I'm still at Wuss level but I'm a Wuss who knows how to use the equipment at least. Besides,…

Most definitely! There needs to be some kind of "handbook" that opens up automatically before you get to do anything after signing up. You have to read the pages before it will let you do anything and there's a handy-dandy link on your homepage in case you want a refresher :) Could be a great idea!

Bumpity-bump-bump! This looks really good. Mum and I always have frozen cauliflower/broccoli on hand. Q: Do you think it would be okay to use both in the crust?

Since you're already a member of a gym, I'd give them a call (since you can't get to the gym right now) and ask them if you can make an appointment with a trainer. I'd outline your situation about this 253 that you can't seem to shake and take it from there. Trainers are there to help :) In the mean-time you could always…

Corn thins! I had some at my boyfriend's house and loved them, then I bought my own and I love them even more :) They are so tasty with peanut butter. I also tried a new cereal that I'm just really into. Uncle Toby's Plus: Protein Lift. I'm just into it! Hahaha.

I have three beautiful dresses from much skinnier times. I'm working towards fitting into these. My actual, real reward is a holiday somewhere tropical with my boyfriend and I'll wear my bikini without a care in the world :)

Does your husband's gym have a daycare service? If so, you could join the gym and go together. I like working out with my boyfriend :) You could always look into classes. I'm aiming for three days a week for exercise. Certainly not the best but it is achievable with my work and school. (I'm not a mother but I wanted to…

It was windy and cool today here in Australia. In my little part (according to my car) it was 21 degrees Celsius (69 F according to a web converter). I ended up wearing a cardigan and track-pants all day!

You look great!! I would definitely invest in the things that will help your night go smoothly as possible: hollywood tape to stop your dress from shifting, tiny underwear to avoid the dreaded vpl and those cushions for your heels if you need them in your shoes. Have a great night :D

I need to have a great play-list. I might not listen to it but if I'm feeling out of the zone, I'll want it there. One time the gym had the radio down so low I couldn't hear it properly and it drove me insane. It was the longest workout ever. I was completely turned off my game. A book or magazine might help for the bike.…

I log mine as "Aerobics, dance, ballet, modern twist" or something along those lines. I swear I must be burning more calories but I guess any extras can just be wonderful "bonus" calories :D

In a few hours it will be Friday but nevertheless, here's how my Thursday went. I had a gym program review in the morning, followed by Zumba at 9am. Another awesome workout :) I tidied my desk and got frustrated at my slow internet for making MFP not work properly. I couldn't get the food database to load properly but…

Just on the pants thing. I tried on my boyfriend's jeans the other day. We were both shocked they fit perfectly. We're actually the same size in shoes and pants. I think it's cute. His Tees are more like dresses on me, which is weird because I'm the tall one but he's broader. Bottom line? I love his shape, I'm learning to…

19 year old girl right here! Teen Girl magazines have been preaching for years (or at least since I was 13) that a girl with confidence and a cute wardrobe will always snag the guy. She doesn't have to be pretty or popular or trying to be somebody she's not -- just herself. Although it helps if she isn't "fat", although…

I second that! The yolk is my favourite. If I'm having a fried egg, I'll cut the yolk out and have that and leave most of the white behind. I know it's good for me but it just isn't delicious. Nothing beats toast or sausages dunked in egg yolk. Mmmms!

You have to make it work for you. There's no point if we all say "mornings!" but you have class/work/other in the morning that forces you to wake up at some hideous hour of the morning just to get a workout in! I work shift work (mostly nights) and my days are about to be taken up with university. I'm hoping to squeeze in…

Yum! Yum! Yum!! I will have to make these next week :)

Cut yourself a tiny piece (if you must) and put it in the smallest bowl you can find. It will look so huge you will feel like a glutton for having a little piece and you won't even consider having seconds because oh-my-goodness-that-piece-was-huge. Keep a little for your family if they want some but keep it only until the…
