LOL, photos of my dads face would have been PRICELESS! ;-) And, thank you, for all your kind words...I'm thrilled my story helped/entertained/inspired others!! I know I sure got a good laugh out of it.

Thanks again all! @MetilHed..I think you're right, victories in the long run. @CowgirlKimi...I couldn't have said it better myself. :)
-
@Eve23, thank you ;) @pinkprincess1, about 2 1/2 years...I've got about 70 pounds to go and I am getting VERY impatient about it, lol.

Ohhh-hypothyroid, yeah...I struggle with that too. Boo! Awesome for you for not letting it get the better of you! So often in my past I let my "issues" dictate why I couldn't exercise, why even if I ate right, I couldn't lose weight anyways...It is NO small victory when we choose our health! :)
-
Thanks! It's quite a trip looking back at old photos. Even my hubby says he doesn't recognize the old me.
-
:) thx, I agree, sharing victories and being encouragers is essential, for me. It reminds me that, I'M NOT ALONE...I DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE!
-
Thank you Becca! You're being kind. ;) I think a Christmas goal, is a FANTASTIC idea! I think I'll have to look around for a goal outfit. Hmmm...got my creative juices goin!

Thx all...It has been difficult letting go of those that bring nothing but negativity and my past failures. But, in order to see LONG LASTING success, in my life as a woman/wife/mother/friend...it had to be done. I didn't get mad at my dad...just gave me some really good ammo to give him crap. :D

First off, I want to say that I don't think you're a total jerk for posting this. In fact, I think you have taken EVERY step possible to consider your wife's feelings and the impact asking someone in your familiar circle might do. I think there's no simple yes or no answer to this...it really depends on you and your wife…

Olympia, WA ...lived here since I was 9 months old. :)

If its fast food...I go to Taco Bell and order off there fresco style menu. If its a sit down restraunt, I stick with the salads and have my dressing put on the side. Good luck. :)

...just a note... I gained all my weight after I had my babies, while nursing. Every body is different. ...mind you, I wasn't exercising when I was nursing. I thought it was such a rip off that not only did I not lose weight while nursing, I actually GAINED weight. :/ Sigh...but, when you look at that little baby WHO…

;) it would seem I'm at my daily limit for requesting friends...who knew they had one. Ha!! I would love to add anyone who would like to be mutually supportive ...and with a good sense of humor (or that can promise to not take seriously when I open mouth and insert foot) ;) Send a FR if you would like. :D
-
Congrats to you!! I understand your anxiety about the gain...I gained 90+ with my first. My second, third and fourth...I was able to either maintain my weight, or even lose with my last. As I'm sure many will say, consult your doctor before doing anything drastic, but, I can tell you, your baby will get everything it needs…
-
Congrats on the 6 pounds! That's a fantastic start! FR sent.
-
Welcome!! And, I (as I'm sure as have others) have been there...still have days/weeks/moments like that. I mentioned this earlier today, but, it fits well here too: I was always told growing up, 'mind your pennies and your dollars will take care of themselves'. I find this to be ABSOLUTELY true of LONG TERM weigh loss…
-
FR sent. Everybody's been warned of my smarty-pants self! Lol
-
Congrats on the initial commitment! I would love to be an encouraging and honest supporter to everyone on here too! But I must say ...buyer beware, perhaps I should have mentioned earlier, I'm a super sarcastic brat, ...just sayin'. ;)
-
FR sent! You all rock! :)
-
Thanks all for the encouragement and support! ...I'm SO feelin the love!! ;) I think I sent out FR to all...if I missed you, please send a request and we can all do this together! :)
-
Thanks y'all! FR sent.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree with this statement. I've gotten the go ahead from my doctor AND licensed personal trainer/nutritionist that a 1200 calorie a day diet is ok for me, so long as they are good, clean calories. I'm not sure about the OP's situation, but, I know in my case, my bootylisciousness has enough to…

FR sent all!! :) Thanks for the commitment to support. :D I promise to do the same.
-
Hey there and welcome to MFP! Motivation and support, are essential to long term success! I still have a ways to go, and I just know these last 70 pounds aren't going to let go without a fight, but, it's a battle I'm ready to face!! (ok...here comes the corny in me-wait for it...) WE CAN DO THIS PEOPLE'S!! :D
-
LOL
-
Awe, thank you!! I agree, support is THE way to go! These last 70 pounds are clingging on for dear life!!!! FR sent. :)
-
Uh...I can attest to the fact that THIS IS FALSE!! I had my VSG in October of 2009, found out I was expecting my FOURTH child in April of 2010. Gave birth to a COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND FULL TERM baby boy in December of 2010. Ignorance is irritating!!! Ugh
-
I am 34 months out of my VGS (sleeve), it was, HANDS DOWN, the best decision for me. While I agree, most definitely, that you have to deal with the emotional eating issues and all that, I CAN'T STAND when people who have never been super morbidly obese say things like, 'why not just do it for life?' Being 30, 40, even 50…

Welcome to the party, LOL!! Request sent! :D
-
Thanks for the support all! Sorry it took me so long to send requests...still getting used to how the site works. ...I'm a dork, yes, I admit it. ;)
