  • Led Zep box set on shuffle! Always makes my run go faster.
  • Well, for the first time in 15 years I am off all of my high blood pressure medication, and its completely due to my weight loss. I never thought I would ever be able to stop taking that stuff! In addition to my looking and feeling better, it gives me motivation to keep the weight off.
  • I used to need to put cream or half & half in my coffee but when I decided to lose weight I figured I would try and save the calories from the 3-4 cups that I drink per day by eliminating the cream. It only took me a week or so to get used to drinking coffee black and now I actually prefer it that way with 2-3 packets of…
  • Sorry. I can't seem to get the hang of posting pictures. I'll try again.
  • These are my before and after pictures after losing over 85 lbs and hitting goal!!
  • I've completely cut out half-n-half and milk in my coffee because I drink several cups per day and the calories add up. I've gotten so used to it that I don't even miss it anymore.
  • I really appreciate reading about your experience and seeing the charts because it hit home with me. I've had been heavy my whole life (I am a 49 year old male) and have been up and down on diets 20 pounds at a time. For some reason, this time, for the first time, I finally succeeded at taking all the weight off. I wish I…
  • Scrambled egg with extra egg white, 1/2 slice of american cheese, 2 strips of turkey bacon and a cup of coffee. I stay under 300 calories and watch carbs for breakfast, so I stay away from oatmeal even though I love it.
  • That before/after picture is a great idea! I donated my closet-full of clothes to Big Brothers/Big Sisters but kept one pair of pants (which fit me like a potato sack) to remind me of how big I was and as inspiration to keep the weight off. [/quote] I did the same (except it was GoodWill), but I do have 1 pair of pants I…

  • You mean it was all just a coincidence that my weight loss happened at the same time I began paying close attention to what I ate and started counting calories? I was duped!
  • I jumped up my calories at once but increased my aerobic exercise. I re-set MFP goals to lose 1/2 lb per week and I try to stay within that calorie number. If I go over I know that I have some wiggle room with my exercise, but I know to taper back the calories for the next day or two. No weight gain since hitting my goal…
  • Fear of gaining the weight back is my great motivator. Since hitting my goal a couple of months ago, I continue to log my food everyday to stay within maintenance calories range and run 4 times a week. The reward of bonus calories from exercise is also a great motivator because it lets me maintain while eating more.…
  • I was recently told by an old friend that "you looked more handsome when your face was fuller." People tell me all the time not to lose more weight. I don't take it as mean spirited. I think it comes more from their shock at my appearance at a healthy weight after being used to seeing me very overweight for so many years.…
  • Are diet soft drinks better than water? If that's what your really asking, then yes and no. It certainly isn't better for your health, chemically, than water. But there isn't a single credible scientific study that I have seen yet that demonstrates that it is harmful when used in drinkable quantities (not one million times…
  • Black with 2 splenda. I also love Starbucks dark roast with sugar free hazelnut syrup. Since I drink at least 3 cups a day, I wanted to avoid the calories and carbs from cream and milk, so I started drinking it black and got used to it very quickly. Even after reaching my weight goal , I haven't gone back.
  • Not to be contrary to everyone else, but I see nothing wrong with a "kick start" to whatever long term plan you have. Especially if that will be part of your motivation to succeed. Limiting yourself to 3 days of about 1000 calories and 50 carbs or less for the 3 days won't do you any harm. Just make sure you drink plenty…
  • 1/4 of a slice of cheesecake factory low carb cheesecake with some berries and 2 Tbs of light whipped cream washed down with a cup of green tea.
  • I eat 1/4 of a slice of Cheesecake Factory low carb cheesecake with lots of berries almost every night for dessert with a cup of tea and its under 200 calories. That does the trick for me!
  • 1. Half n Half and milk 2. Carbs (limited to 25 or under per day) - no white bread, pasta, rice, potatoes ever 3. Red meat (not totally cut but reduced to one 3-4 oz serving per week)
