My WHY at the moment is to reclaim who I was before my marriage went to hell and took my self-esteem with it. I used to run around with confidence. I used to wear shorts. Short shorts. I used to love to jump into the pool and swim. Now, I feel so gross, and I am so uncomfortable in my body that I'm wearing jeans when it's…

Oh... You are brave! Good luck! Do you have a site that your using, or a plan to create those steely abs? Mine need a little bit of ...something. I'm hoping to lose a pound a week leading up to July. It won't be ideal, but it'll be a whole lot better than where I was last summer. :-p So far I'm on track.

Oh... ouch.... I would sit on ice, take motrin/advil (or whatever you can find to reduce swelling) and go easy on it. At least for a few days. There are lots of muscles that attach through the pelvis, and many nerves that travel up and connect through there as well. If you try to push through while its really swollen, I…

Dare I ask what this "Shred" is?

Um... it might be obtainable, but I think you might be better off focusing on you, and what you want for you, then on how others look. I have clothes and pictures of how I was before the second kid, and I was thin/fit, and it's a tough goal to reach, but it's all me. I think looking outside for a goal, and an image for who…

Some of it might be envy. Some of it is just cluless, they don't know what to say, so just spout whatever comes to mind. In time, when the you they see isn't new to them, some of them will adjust and shut up. In the meantime, there is one rule -- You don't own any of them an explanation. You do what you need to do for you!…

I fell off the wagon for a bit (with disastrous results!) but I'm back and trying to log every day. I have about 5 weeks before a family 'fun run' in my town and I'm determined to be ready. I got a fitbit to track my steps and I'm pushing my pace. I must keep up with my 7 yr old! Feel free to add me. :-)

I'd love to lose 8 lbs in 5 weeks, but for me, losing 5 lbs in 5 weeks is about all I can do, and most weeks aren't that good. I think, if you try to push for more, you'll run the risk of losing muscle and harming your metabolism. I think the pace you've set is good and you just need to keep it up until you reach your…

Oh... I think it's safe to say that, at some point, everyone's motivation has lagged. You are in the majority on that one. For me, when motivation lags, habit saves me. When my walks are scheduled and built into my day (especially when I know a hiking partner is expecting me), when journaling to keep track of what I'm…

Our size has nothing to do with how well, or poorly, our bodies handle sugar. I'm hypoglycemic and I have several family members who are (or where) diabetic. It makes reaching for sugary things tempting when I get shaky and cranky, but I know they'll do me in. I concentrate on leaning toward proteins and fats instead of…

Oh yeah. I have clothes I haven't worn in a long while hanging on the closet door. I look at them every morning and remind myself how awesome it will be the day they fit again, even if I deem them too out of fashion to wear out of the house.

I wouldn't hold them to it (and they say there's no guarantee right there) but I like seeing the guesstimate. I find it encouraging.

First, *HUGS* Lots of us go through the place you are right now. And it has little to do with how much weight we need to lose. You are not a freak, and you are not ugly. You are frustrated and probably a little depressed. Frustration and pain will do that to a person. I have arthritis in my shoulders and some days the pain…
