  • I don't track everything all of the time. I take weekends off many times, and definitely any type of holiday or special event. Otherwise, I can get too obsessed with it all. I feel it's much healthier to do it this way, at least for me. :)
  • I'm in Week 7 of Insanity. Today I did Max Cardio Conditioning. I had to take a couple of days off over the weekend, because of the inflammation in one of my feet, which continues to be a pain right now. I've also been feeling a bit low on energy....not sure why....trying to get more fresh greens in my diet. This second…
  • You're doing amazingly well!! You must feel SO good about yourself! I'll be starting Week 7 tomorrow, and I am noticing changes in my body's shape. I haven't measured in a while...I probably should! Keep up the awesome work! Shaun T. DOES rock!
  • Ernestine Sheppard is my idol. She didn't start lifting until she was older...and she looks amazing! I'm 55, and I've got multiple serious health problems. I lift because it has made me so much stronger. My muscles were atrophying due to an autoimmune disease, and serious back problems. I could have just sat and…
  • I absolutely LOVE the program. I've lost all the weight I wanted to lose, and I'm still losing. I've had to play with my calories quite a bit, and I'm trying to find the "perfect" intake that will allow me to maintain, and, ultimately, build muscle. This program has definitely sped my metabolism up; I'm now like I used to…
  • Come on! Isn't there anyone out there who is the same age as me doing this? I certainly can't be the only one!!!
  • Great results, Rachel!!
  • I'm working on the same goals! Feel free to send me a friend request, if you'd like!
  • You may find you even need more. I'm 5'4", 112-114lbs (approx.--I don't weigh that often), and I'm eating anywhere between 1700-2000+ calories a day, and I'm still losing weight. I've been needing to increase my calories several times. Insanity burns a lot of calories, and you need to refuel to stay healthy. I've been…
  • I think it's great! I've been doing Insanity, and am in Week 6. I lift at home, usually 3x's a week. I think weight training is a great compliment to the program. Just be sure you're getting enough calories!! :)
  • They are excellent workouts!
  • I would seriously at least attempt to do the warm-up and the stretches. If your body is still feeling extremely sore after that, then I'd take a rest day. Most likely, though, after you warm up & stretch, your body will feel much better. Always listen to your body, though....you will know what to do.
  • You're obviously working hard to reach your goals! Keep up the great work!
  • WOW!!! Is all I can say, after beginning Week 6 of Insanity...Day 36 today. I had to do a lot of modifications today, because I have inflammation in my metatarsals...but even with the modifications, it TOTALLY kicked my butt, like Shaun T. warns in the beginning of the DVD for Max Interval Circuit. I am convinced, if you…
  • The calories burned are too varied to answer your question with any accuracy. It all depends on your own fitness level, your ability to push yourself, weight, resting heart rate, age, etc., etc.. I would also strongly suggest you invest in a HRM with chest strap, so you will get a more accurate idea of your calorie burn.
  • Great work!! I love your shoulders--beautiful! You look like a different person...your confidence has certainly improved! Keep up the great transformation!
  • Welcome, Mark. Congratulations for taking the first step that will change your life. Feel free to add me as a friend. You will find lots of support here. Commit to living a healthier lifestyle. Get in the habit of logging everything you eat on here. It was a real eye-opener for me, when I first started. I was amazed at…
  • I didn't start exercising until February, but I've lost 30 pounds since then. I started off running on my treadmill, and because I loved it so much, I started training for a 1/2 marathon. I also lift weights. Then, in July, I started the Insanity program on DVD. In the beginning, all I did was follow MFP's macro…
  • I have the same problem, right now. I have been adding several protein shakes to my day, which helps tremendously. Other than that, just try to have more dense calorie foods when you do eat. I know what you mean, though...there are days I just cannot eat another morsel. Who would have thought eating more would be a…
  • I exercise at home; I use DVD's (Insanity), my elliptical, treadmill, and YouTube videos. I can't go out by myself, because I'm visually impaired. You can find awesome exercise videos on YouTube. I put another vote in for FitnessBlender.com -- you can choose your own level, and type of workout you're looking for…
  • Yes, I agree...try the foam roller, and see if it improves. Whenever I have a pain that gets my attention and doesn't go away after a mile or so, then I back off. If you're getting radiating pain, then I'd probably rest it for a day. If you miss a run, in the big scheme of things, it won't matter, but if you continue…
  • I'm on Insanity Week 5, Core Cardio & Balance. I find it really funny that my legs were sore this morning, after doing the so-called 1st day of "Recovery Week" workout. I really enjoyed the workout, and it'll be a nice change of pace for this week, especially since I'm still regaining my strength after being ill. Now to…
  • Hi Helen, I think it was right about where you are right now that I had some motivational issues with Insanity, too. That second week, for some reason, played some mental games with me. I had to fight to push play, but I am so glad I stuck with it. You can do it, too. Just keep doing it, no matter how you feel. By that 3rd…
  • I'm on Week 5, and I truly love this program. I used to be a fitness instructor, and I am so impressed with the workouts! I've definitely lost inches around my waist, and am gaining lean muscle. I suddenly lost 2 lbs after Week 3 (I think that was around the time), and I lost another pound last week, without restricting…
  • If you are following the nutrition plan that comes with Insanity, AND you don't have any dietary restrictions due to health problems like hypertension or diabetes, where salt & sugar are limited, then, no, you don't have to worry about the sodium & sugar. The program's recommendation is based on the body's need for…
  • Feel free to add me...I'm on Day 23 tomorrow. You're going to love how you feel, once you start getting used to the workouts more! I think my second week was the hardest, as far as wanting to do the workouts. It was a "love/hate" relationship, for sure. After that 2nd week, I've felt much stronger, and can't wait to do my…
  • I absolutely LOVE Insanity. I'm on Week 4 right now. I took a solid week off, because I went on vacation, so then I came back, and repeated Week 3. I lost a little bit of weight the first week, but then stayed the same. All of a sudden, last week, after being completely off the previous week, I lost 2lbs. I had to increase…
  • I've used many different types of protein shakes. I like Optimum Nutrition, and Accelerade Endurox4. Those are what I'm using right now,and I'm also doing Insanity. You might want to re-evaluate your macros, too, if you're that fatigued. You should feel energetic after your workouts. It's best to get a 4:1 carb to protein…
  • Lots of the running stores will take them, and donate them to people who need shoes. Otherwise, I donate them to Salvation Army or Purple Heart. (After rotating them, of course...using my oldest ones for regular shoes, or garden shoes.)
