  • I just switched to maintenance; I'm a vegetarian. You're welcome to look at my diary!
  • I'm a runner, also...and am doing Insanity. In the beginning of the program, I backed off on running considerably. (I was training for marathons prior.) I've now completed Week 3, and I've been incorporating running 2-4 miles after an Insanity workout, whenever I feel like it. (Which has been more frequently, recently)…
  • Here's a great link for articles that relate to that very subject: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=PreandPostWorkoutNutrition
  • Well, Week 3 of Insanity is complete! I feel so good after every single workout. It's great to see everyone else's success, too. Ryan, I hope you get your shoulder straightened out. I went through some severe shoulder issues many years ago...it was a long rehab for me, so I feel your pain & frustration.
  • I'm very close to changing to maintenance...I'm within 3 pounds of my goal weight. I'm mostly wanting to lose more belly fat, and then I'd like to build muscle. It's good to see more people who are working towards some of the same goals!
  • p.s. Try to stay away from the scale--it'll drive you batty. Just look for changes in your body (inch loss, etc.) :)
  • Just a quick glance at your sodium intake tells me you're consuming quite a bit of sodium on a daily basis....so you might want to look at that more closely. Less processed foods would help. Also, you didn't say whether you were breastfeeding or not, which also could make some vast differences in what you are looking at,…
  • Hi! I'm doing a repeat of Week 3, because I went on vacation for a week, and felt like I'd better repeat to get back into the swing of things. So tomorrow will be Day 19 for me. I absolutely LOVE Insanity. I also run, and I can't believe the difference this program has made in my running endurance & pace! Please feel free…
  • Yes...it's very easy to become lazy. I just got back from a vacation in CO, where I did some fantastic hiking, but otherwise no "daily" exercise, so I lost my motivation to get back on track when I got home. I really had to fight with my mind to get moving again...but I'm so glad I forced myself. Once you defeat the mind,…
  • This may not be the workout for you right at this stage. My question would be how much cardiovascular exercise have you done in the past, and if your answer is "not that much", or "I haven't done any in quite a while", then I'd recommend starting with a less intense form, so you don't get discouraged. Insanity is…
  • My motivation to push play was definitely not there today, after returning from a week long vacation in Colorado. I did some fantastic hiking there, but otherwise, no daily exercise. I decided to repeat week 3, since I've been away for so long...and I think that is going to end up being a good plan. I did Plyometric Cardio…
  • I'm an RN. Since this pain could potentially be cardiac-related, it's best to call your doctor to get checked out. Better to be safe, than sorry. I hope it isn't anything serious.
  • Did my 2nd Fit Test for Insanity; I improved on everything except Globe Jumps. I definitely noticed I felt much stronger than the first time I took the test. Not only that, but I ran on my treadmill afterwards, and I am noticing a significant improvement in my running ability and endurance. I'm happy! Switch Kicks: 100/137…
  • I'm going through the same exact thing right now. It actually is a good thing :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/650353-becoming-more-fit-but-burning-less-cals
  • Insanity Week 2 is history. Enjoying my rest day today immensely. Looking forward to doing the Fit Test again Monday...I think :ohwell: LOL -- a little scared, actually. Hoping I've improved somewhat. I do feel stronger in general, but we'll see....
  • I just did Day 13 yesterday, and am enjoying a rest day today! Feel free to add me. I LOVE Insanity. It's by far the best workout I've ever done. :) I'm looking forward to doing P90X after I finish Insanity.
  • Even though you're feeling really down about not losing, don't lose focus. You need to log every single thing you eat, and you need to be accurate. When I first started MFP, logging was a brand new experience for me, and it was a REAL eye-opener. The logging was a real slap in the face for me, but it also helped me to be…
  • Yes, I have. I also had IT band issues, with my knee pain. I use "The Stick" massage bar whenever things act up, and it really helps....if you don't have one, I highly recommend it for all runners! I also used a knee brace temporarily, just to be able to continue to run. I use it whenever my knee becomes really painful,…
  • I love my Garmin FR60, which is ancient, compared to the current models, but it's been fantastic, and does everything I need. I also run, so I love that the foot pod that comes with it (or any of the newer models) will record pace, distance, laps, longest run, marathon info, PR's, calories burned, etc., and will alert you…
  • I did look for the videos, but didn't find them. I'd really appreciate if you'd post them on FB. Thanks! I'm on Day 5 of Insanity, and I did the Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs today. Every time I do a workout, I think, "This is my favorite"...This really is an awesome program!
  • If you opened your diary, we could see what you've been eating....Are you logging everything you put in your mouth, measuring your food, and actively exercising? I'd be glad to review your diary, to help you, if you make it available for us to see. :)
  • Yes, I'm in your FB group. I'll check out the info....thanks.
  • Yes, I agree...it appears that you consume an awful lot of processed foods, which would be high in sodium. If you monitor that more closely, I would think you should start seeing some positive changes, especially if you include exercise.
  • I also wanted to say how awesome everyone in this group is doing! Great effort brings great results...every time.
  • I was feeling low energy today when I woke up. I did Cardio Recovery and Max Recovery, and now I feel SO good! I am loving Insanity!! I was a fitness instructor, back in the 80's, and I just love the way this program is designed! I took a couple of "before" photos the day after I did the Fit Test. How often do the rest of…
  • 7/10/13: Did Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance today. What a great workout!! I had to take quite a few breaks today; I felt like I was struggling through some of those moves! I felt fantastic afterwards. I can feel my body changing as I write this. LOL
  • I just started Insanity today, and loved the workout! You can go to YouTube and find lots of "before" and "after" results. There is no doubt in my mind that this program will get you in shape, if you do it regularly.
  • oops..."do THAT deliberately", I meant.
  • I hope your shoulder heals quickly. I know how frustrating it is when you're injured, and want to work out. Today I did the Day 1 Fit Test for Insanity, after I did my workouts for the day. It wasn't as bad as I imagined it, and I'm actually pretty happy with myself. I'm sure they do they deliberately, so people don't get…
  • I plan to start it on Monday. I definitely would like to have some support with this program!
