  • Try taking a week off from exercise but still eat under you calorie goal. Your body probably needs a break and change in routine. Good Luck, Todd
  • I used the Garmin Forerunner 50 with the foot pod. You can calibrate it and is fairly accurate. I recently upgraded to the Garmin Forerunner 305 with GPS and foot pod for treadmill. I was able to calibrate the foot pod using the GPS. Check on amazon.com. The watch is $154 and get a foot pod for about 90. The cool thing is…
  • My wife is a 38D and we have had the same problem with putting on the HRM. It wasn't giving a constant acurate reading. We did some research and you can also re-locate the censors on the middle of your bra strap on the back. As far a tracking you calories burned, I still use MFP even that it is lower than what my HRM…
  • The HRM should be more acurate if you set your weight, gender, and age. I would still use the MFP exercise restrictions, which should be lower. I get about 500 calories burned in 3.1 miles in 30 minutes according to MFP but my HRM shows closer to 600.
  • You should add more friend to help motivate and support you. It has really helped me on staying on track.
  • The 310XT is waterproof, little smaller and seems to be more for triathlete's. Plus it is $369 with a HRM on amazon.com. The 305 is about $160 with the HRM.
  • I don't have either one, but my brother has the 405. He said that he wishes it had multipule data screen so that he could see different rates on one screen. I purchased the Forerunner 305 for half the cost and came with a heart rate monitor strap. I love it and I get up to 4 data fields on one screen. It is larger than…
  • Welcome and congrats on the 13 lbs. There is a wealth of information, support and motivation here. Make friends that will help you get you where you want to be. Friend me if you like. Good Luck on the journey to the new you, Todd
  • Thank you. Great site with a wealth of information.
  • Personally, after getting on the treadmill at least 5 - 6 days a week since Jan 1. The last week and a half I have only exercised once, and under my calorie goal each day and have lost about 8 lbs. I have wanted to work out, but have not really had a chance. I assume that my body just need a change or a rest.
  • I can't explain the big weight loss in 1 week. Since Jan 1 I have been on the treadmill at least 5 - 6 times a day. The last couple of weeks I have been under my calorie limit and I have only worked out once. Guess my body needed a change.
  • You are absolutely right blank canvas.
  • No I have never done it but thanks for the suggestion. It looks like a lot of fun. I'm in Texas and I'm putting it on my calendar. Hopefully I will be more in shape by that time. Todd
  • Welcome and Congrats on the prior weight loss. The site is great for tracking your food and making adjustments. The friends I have made here help support and motivate me to reach my goals. Feel free to add me, and I will do the same for you.
  • Thank you. I will.

  • That is great. What was the over all time? I'm curious because I never ran track. I done a couple, one on a track and the other on the treadmill.

  • Here is a site that has good running tips. http://www.runontexas.com/TrainingClasses/TrainingTips/trainingtips.htm Good luck.
  • I would suggest New Balance for a good running shoe and is what I'm using. Then when I start running distances like a half marathon, I will take the shoes to a good running store and spend the money on a better shoe. I running about 10 - 15 miles a week on mine, and they should get me 6 - 9 months. Todd
  • Congratulations, that is awesome. You are truley an inspiration.
  • Just do it. Problem is not doing it rather than starting it correct?. Or at least it is for me, but once I get going I'm always glad that I did. I usually do it to eat something for dinner. Today I only have 30 calories remaining and can't exercise tonight, so I'm stuck not eating anything but will busy so I will not miss…
  • Everyday.
  • I have always been a Nike guy, even got the Nike Shox and they just were not confortable running in them. I have a high arch and wide foot. But for running I only use New Balance. They are very comfortable and light.
  • Actually, I'm wanting to get out and run this weekend. I have not exercised since Monday and I'm and looking forward to find some time Saturday morning to try a nice long run. I'm defining long as anywhere from 3 - 5 miles without walking.
  • Don't worry about the size if you like it and you look good, then wear it.
  • Relish is great with tuna. I've been eating a tuna to go pack that comes with relish and it is great.
  • Thank you. Great article on what I should be eating when. I already eat something about every 2 - 3 hours, but I seem to lack in the breakfeast area to really get my metabolism going.
  • Thank you for the link. It is a great success story and something to think about on this journey to the new me.
  • My wife washed it in a bag with her bra's and it did a pretty good job. You could also do it in a dishwasher like a hat.
