  • That is amazing. Keep up the hard work and you will reach your goal.
  • This site is great. Tracking what foods you eat is the main factor and then exercise. Several years ago I used another tool similar to this to track my food and exercise and lost 50 lbs. I have since put it back on because I stopped tracking the foods I eat, stopped exercising and then started eating fast food. The results…
  • Looks like everyone did good and moving in the right direction. I did lose my goal weight for today and thought it might be a little agressive. Didn't get in my workout last night and probably not tonight either. I will be ready to a long run on Thursday. At least I'm eating good. Current Weight: 229.9 Mini goal on 3/10:…
  • Working downtown Dallas and see no snow now, but south of us it is snowing a little. Not anything like a little over a week ago when we got a foot of it and was able to build a 6'5" snowman. Can't wait until I can run outside again.
  • My wife has the exact same issues while working out and I always thought that she wasn't working out hard enough and getting her heart rate up. I like the idea of wearing a long sleave top and maybe even sweat pants to see what that will do. Good Luck.
  • Thank you everyone. Needed the laugh today.
  • I have a garmin Edge 305 (GPS) for cycling, garmin forerunner 50, and should be getting my garmin forerunner 305 (GPS) on Saturday. I love them and have been really helpful. I want the 305 for running outside and got the foot pod for inside on the treadmill. Can't wait. The forerunner 50 helped with heart rate but was off…
  • The friends I have made here have really motivated me a ton. I started this Jan and have pushed myself at my current 230 lb weight to run a 5K (3.1 miles) on the track last night. I feel really good and my friends have been supportive and motivate me to stay on my goals. Add me if you like and I will help anyway possible.…
  • A HRM will give you calories burned as well as heart rate. The best HRM uses "heart rate-based calorie computation" that would give you a more accurate account of calories burned, but they are hitting the $400 mark. You can speed much less to get a simple HRM for training purposes. I have used Garmin Forerunner 50 and been…
  • If could get some extra money, this one looks great and I have had no problems with EPIC. EPIC View 550 SD Trainer Treadmill 20" x 60" Treadbelt 3.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor iFit® Workout Card Technology Item # 498081 $999.99 Shipping & Handling included
  • We purchased the Epic T60 years ago from CostCo for about $900 and it is still doing great. I agree with "lose2cruise" consider the motor, width and length of belt. When I did the research before buying you want a wider and longer belt if you plan on running on it. Mine is 20 X 60 and works great. Good Luck.
  • Welcome and Good Luck to the both of you. Add friends for motivation and support.
  • Welcome. MFP is a great site for tracking food and does have a large database of food entries. I may have only added a couple of entries since I have been using the site. I suggest adding friends for support and motivation, it has really helped me. Noticed you have run some 5K's. I planning on doing my first one either…
  • It is great that I'm able to get motivated and support from all my new friends. It has gotten me through some runs on by new best friend the treadmill. Thank you all.
  • Congrats, you are looking great not that you weren't before. The hard work has really paid off and can really see the difference. Can't wait until you post the pictures once completed your goal. Keep it up.

  • Ok so I ended up having a good week since the first weight-in. Current weight: 231.5 Loss: 3.4 I think that I set my 2/24 goal to much. Don't think that I can lose 6.5 lbs, but will hopefully get close.
  • What gets me pumped and running harder is Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park. I do like the others that some of the others suggested, but I change it up. Hope that helps.
  • That is what I do, but I get on the treadmill. If I could get myself out of bed at 5am, then I would do it first thing. Melissa, try eating a good breakfeast, getting in a little exercise in the morning to see if you have more energy in the afternoon. I love to take my naps on the weekend because I feel so refreshed. Good…
  • Welcome from Texas, This is a great site. Make friend here for support and motivations. Track anything that you eat then make adjustments. Good Luck.
  • To the North Texans: When we get in shape, we should do a run. I'm think FT Worth has a 5k that I'm thinking of doing in March. Good Luck to everyone on the new lifestyle changes. Todd PS: The drive sucks but I still have a job.
  • I too do great during the week and have problems during the weekend. I figure out what I want, then exercise a little more for the variations. I make adjustments on how much I eat and don't get the Dr Pepper with any fast food meal anymore. The last couple of weekends (Superbowl, then Valentines) have been tough, but it…
  • I live in Mesquite and work in Dallas.
  • That is fantastic. Wed I was able to jog 36 minutes without walking. That was a good day . I am constistantly able to jog 24 minutes and hoping to get back there soon.

  • I have not seen one. I bought me a new bike last summer to get me motivated. Find some organized rides in your area and start off with the shorter distances and the other riders will help motivate you into doing longer distances. If you have a bike computer with RPM, then keep it above 75 RPM, because it will help you in…
  • I drink a bottle of water on the way to work and then eat my first meal when I get there around 7am.
