Cool.

Why do you feel the need to work out 6 days a week? Could you not accomplish your goals working out 3 or 4x a week instead? You need to get on a structured weight lifting routine for beginners. And just as important, you need to learn to rest. With what you're doing now - lifting 6 days a week, with only 1 day of rest,…

Lost 61lbs so far. And not a single day of cardio was done.

About 15-20

You can't spot reduce. The only way to lose the fat is by eating in a deficit. Belly fat is usually the last to go too unfortunately.

I am. Near Adelphi which is right next to College Park. Feel free to add me. Looking for a lifting partner as well so hey if anyone's nearby maybe we can work out sometime.

Damn. Crazy good transformations all of you. Hopefully I'll be posting one in a few more months.

Yea man but all she wants to do is biceps/triceps, not a full body routine.
-
Keep it simple. Curls build biceps. Start off with regular curls. If you feel like you can handle more, add another variation of curls that you like. For triceps you've got a few options. You can try dips, tricep extensions, tricep pushdowns, skullcrushers. I recommend starting off with dips. Once again if you can handle…

Are you experiencing muscle soreness or actual pain? There is a big difference. If it is actual pain because you're lifting wrong and injuring yourself, then you need to take a break and study proper form for the lifts that are causing injury. If it's actual soreness, and the soreness is so incredibly bad that you can't…

You don't. The posters above me suggest you try to keep track of it.. but when everything is full of oil and you don't know what the food's been seasoned with, that ain't happening. Then add desserts... cookies, cakes, ice cream, etc. Yea not happening. Pick and choose your battles. The buffet isn't a place you stand a…

Add a few egg whites in there. You won't even taste them. For more calories, peanut butter. And yes you're supposed to blend the oats into a fine powder, otherwise the consistency sucks. Take a few minutes out of your day to blend the entire tub of oats into a powder. It's been a while, but back when I was eating more…

I'm down 61lbs. I feel completely different than when I was 240+ 15-20lbs more and I should be where I want to be.

Save the money on the BCAAs. They are expensive as hell and won't be very useful to you right now anyway. You're better off putting the money you save towards food. Plus, if you're new to working out and you've never taken BCAAs then you're not going to know whether they enhance your workout and recovery time or not…

I've done it a few times, using vanilla protein powder. It actually tastes pretty damn good, and the powder was sweet enough that there was no need for sugar.
-
Waste of money. It probably doesn't work, and even if it did work it's still a waste of money. You don't need to "jump start" anything. If you're on here (MFP), we advocate being in this for the long haul (i.e. lifestyle change/healthy life). In the very, very unlikely chance that it actually did help, the benefits in the…

Have a soda, but control yourself and don't overdo it. I used to be addicted to Coca Cola. I'd drink a liter or more a day. I had to slowly wean off it. Now I only have it once a week (with my weekly Popeye's meal). The key is moderation. Oh and a good trick I use is to fill the cup all the way up to the top with ice, then…

I didn't mean to suggest that, but I can see why it was interpreted that way. I personally don't train to failure. I go near that line, but don't cross it. My last rep is done with good form and leaves me feeling like I can't do one more, hence why I said "You should feel like you can't do another rep." edit: To be clear -…

Once you're past your noob stage, lifts tend to go down when you're cutting. That's just usually what happens.

I agree that beginners shouldn't start out heavy, but at the same time they shouldn't begin so light to the point that they don't feel anything at all. This here doesn't make any sense to me thoug. If a beginner can naturally curl 45lb dumbbells for reps with ease, would you propose they begin a strength training program…
-
My approach is moderation. Being too restrictive on a diet leads to quitting it, going on a binge, then reverting back to old habits. You usually up heavier than when you started too.

If space is limited, get an adjustable set of dumbbells.

Posting a video is the easiest way for others to check your form. But based off what you're saying, I'm going to assume your form is off. There's more to a squat than what you think. You shouldn't be feeling neck pain when squatting. If you feel the bar on your vertebrae, then you have the bar positioned too high. Roll it…

If you didn't feel anything the next day, and you're a beginner who's never before lifted weights, then you gave it no real effort at all. The weights were too light. I'm blaming your personal trainer; they should've told you better. To answer your question - lifting heavy is all relative to the person. What's lifting…

I used to be that way. It pretty much went away when I reached a point where I was comfortable with the way I looked. Now I barely think about it.

Ditch the machines and start lifting with free weights. There's also no need to work out 6x a week. You're going to burn yourself out and before you know it you're going to quit. Your body also needs rest to recover grow. I'd recommend a full body routine 3x a week. You can google a full body routine yourself or wait for…

Just don't visit him anymore. That's what I'd do.

What you are trying to accomplish is called a body recomposition. What you have to do is eat at maintenance calories and lift weights. Search google for body recomps. You'll see a lot of good results. Just make sure you actually have a well thought out and structured lifting routine. Going to the gym to lift weights…
