I whole heartily agree with the previous advice about a healthy diet (plus plenty of hydration) and weight lifting. Weight loss is hard on the body too, so you have to give your body (and skin) time to bounce back. I was feeling very 'deflated' after losing my first 50lbs (some of it before MyFitnessPal) and while in a…

I had heard about that house, and was really stressed out about it, especially when I heard other people hitting the wires then screaming! I am so glad I didn't get shocked (I army-crawled under the wires).

Why, thank you! :D I had a blast and was SUPER happy to complete this NSV!

I've talked to other folks that weren't interested in running 5k events (or fitness in general) until they found out about this as well. The event attracts so many different types of people, from conditioned athletes to zombie enthusiasts :) I think I'm really benefiting from having a more balanced outlook on my fitness…

Thank you :) BTW I already signed up for next year's race in my area!

Thanks! About the zombies: I will post some pics soon. The course had us go over a hill and away from "civilization" where most of the zombie hordes were. My husband was the photographer near the finish line, and he took some pictures of some wandering zombies, though once I came into the frame, he sorta only took pictures…

P.S. Not sure why my images aren't working here, they work in my blog :( Update: fixed it!

I am currently an omnivore striving to be a flexitarian-"one whose normally meatless diet occasionally includes meat or fish" as NOW defined by Merriam-Webster  When I am on my own or with my gal pals I prefer to eat vegetable-based meals (my BFF is a vegan). My husband is hard-core carnivore. So, meals we have…

1. One A Day - Women's Multivitamin 2. Quaker Oats 3. Natural Raw Sliced Almonds I wouldn't have guessed the almonds, I was surprised they beat out "Mission - Yellow Corn Tortillas" because I will eat just about any meal in taco form, lol.

Getting adequate sleep is very important to health and weight loss. True story.

Just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I haven't seen the American film, though I watched the Swedish film (with subtitles) a few years ago. I am hoping to read the next book in the series soon. Other than that...peer-reviewed research journal articles.

Victoria's secret!!!!! Even though my sister surprised me with a beautiful bra-panties set she was able to get in my current size from the Victoria's secret website, I can't wait til I can go in to the store location, get measured, and not asked to try on a bra a few sizes too small :P But more importantly...vintage and…

Alter or donate! As we get older, its even more and more important to maintain a healthy weight (so says my doctor)! I am donating a few bags of clothes today :)

Fantastic progress! Keep up the awesome work :)

I like your milestone. My husband had once proposed a similar one for himself, and now I feel inspired to remind him of that one. We gained weight together, but thus far, I've been the one doing most of the weight-loss :/ For myself, I have a whole reward schedule set up as I hit milestones. I'm really slow at losing…

fantastic NSV!!! Congrats on your time as well :)

My weight loss progress is really slow (I think) compared to many of the success stories I've seen here. It's taken me about 2 years to lose 45 lbs (I had lost some of the weight before joining MyFitnessPal). I go weeks without losing a pound, then finally the scale will show progress. Especially recently, I've started to…

great fitness milestone  I usually run a couple miles a session on the treadmill, but I really want to work up to running (no walking) a full 5k outside.

Beautiful tattoo and wonderful placement :) I've been obsessed with tattoo designs lately, and the style of yours is every so lovely. You've accomplished so much, and are an inspiration!!! I am hoping to do the same milestone type tattoo sometime next year. I want to get a tattoo once I run my first half-marathon. I LOVE…

Congratulations!!! What a great success story :) Thank you for the inspiration. I am hoping to run my first half marathon in January 2013!

Happy Birthday! Great NSV! I feel inspired to start using the pool at my gym :D

Diet and exercise are my health's best friends! Last year, my HEMOGLOBIN A1c blood levels were at the high risk level right below diabetic. My mother and grandfather are in the advanced stages of diabetes, and both are very sick. My mother developed diabetes while in her 20s (my age) so I got really scared. My doc said my…

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to join your challenge :) I am hoping to do a Zombie themed 'survival' run this year, so this activity could help me prepare!

I've read the trilogy (including the first, Hunger Games, 2x) and I've seen the film two times so far. I hope to see the first film at least one more time in theaters and I am looking forward to the rest of the film adaptations :) I have been shocked by the online reactions to Rue's skin color, as I personally identified…

Can you eat from both the salad bar and the regular food for a decent price? The recommendation I have given undergrads (and other individuals eating in a cafeteria) is to fill half your plate with salad/veggies, then the other half with other food options. Picking the lowest calorie options from things like pizza is still…

Thank you for this fantastic post. Its important for people to remember that weight loss should be about healthy lifestyle changes. My very good friends remind me of that whenever I wish I were losing 10lbs a month. Sometimes I get discouraged because my weight loss is so very slow. Part of this is due to health reasons,…
