Proud you've decided to make a lifestyle change. I am 45 with a lot less to lose, but no different in it is a challenge and requires commitment and a life style change. Good luck to you. You can add me as a friend if you'd like too. Birdie

Very Nice Job!

Last year while training for 1/2 marathon I actually gained 3 lbs. (If you read articles from runners world) this is quite common. My experience, usually at the 9 to 10 mile training mark, my hunger was extreme. I am sure I ate more in the day or 2 after my long run than the net calorie loss for the week. Also, most likely…

Great Job! Congratulations

I am a newbe to making bread, Only been doing it for a month. What I know for certain is that my crazy cravings have almost all diminished . I think this was from all the processed bread I indulged in. I am still using white flour (I don't care for wheat... am trying to work on that). I use about 2 cups flour 1/2 cup…

For myself, I have trigger foods. I love bread. I have been really limiting the bread I eat. I could have had 10 pieces of toast a day and still wanted more. Anyway, I have mostly removed bread from my diet, because this is my trigger. With doing that, my hungry all the time has subsided and some times I need to up my…

Hi, I am 45, 5' 5", cw 171 Goal weight 140. I am medium build, small waist, large breasts, carry most weight in my legs and arms. I am currently in size 10 jeans. So interesting to see similar height/weight, but different sizes across the board. Good luck to everyone in the weight loss/size reduction journey.

I drink my coffee black, on occasion a little half and half. I used to drink it with sugar. Once you drink it black you will never ever want to add sugar again. YUCK! My favorite flavored coffee is raspberry. Raspberry cream is good too. Door County Coffee is my favorite brand. In the grocery store you can buy single…

i've only been running for about 2 years now. I consider myself a newbe. I didn't have a program that I followed. (Didn't know one existed at that time) I got on the treadmill, at a slow speed (I think 4.9 which is around 13.5 min miles I think) I ran until I couldn't go any further. This was a short distance. About 1…

Thanks to you both. I will look into those exercises and yes I know you cant spot reduce, but I know that I have seen some improvements In the toning of my arms and legs with what I am doing. I had hoped that there was something for knees too. (if no toning, strengthening cant hurt) I know my most improvement will be from…

I am 45 female, weigh around 172, 5,5". I tend to carry weight throughout my body, less in the middle section, more in my legs and arms. I am doing some lifting for the arms and lunges and running for legs. Just wondering if there is anything that will help the knees? I guess I just have fat knees then. Even when I am…

I am educated, not poor, and fat. What does that mean?

Saucony does that for me. They feel great running, no blisters, blah blah blah, but I always end with a tear in that area. Usually at the end of life though. Asics and I've never had a problem. I have always gotten fitted at a local running store too

My favorites are most definitely under armor. They have the more tight fitting, compression tops. I don't really have a lot of jiggle in the tummy, but most definitely have a little problem there and they make everything flatter. They also keep the girls in place too. I think they are typically in the $25 to $35 range. Not…

Can I have your legs! mine are like tree trunks. (Smaller waist, large legs!) If only God had made a perfect pattern for us all:wink:

I think I have tried at least 10 different styles and yurbuds still not my friend:noway: I have some that go around my ears right now and I hate them. The journey still continues.

Hi OP, I can totally relate. I have lost my sister (1st) and then my mother within a years time frame (Both passed from cancer). My sis was only 45 and my mom 67. Both way to young. I gained easily 30 pounds from eating out of depression. It has been over a year now since the passing of my mom and it is getting easier, but…

I like the under armour, I have DD so not as large, but big enough. What I also wear that helps is a tight fighting compression shirt. No bounce, No Jiggle:smile:

When given the choice, why would I want to add an unnecessary additive to my body when I can have a natural form of the same product? My Opinion. I would rather eat real meat, real vegetable, real fruit than a chemically engineered or altered form. My opinion! Didn't say you couldn't eat these foods and still lose weight.
-
That is not what I intended... But if you make your ketchup from whole foods, from scratch, I would think it would be better than the factory produced stuff... You can take it as you want. A burger made from fresh meat would be better than a burger made from meat and having additives to it to make it last on the shelf.
-
I wouldn't think that basic food is chemicals. Just my opinioin.

Quote: define "crap"… There is no "bad" food or "good" food..there is just food that your body uses for energy…If people are eating in a deficit then they will lose weight. Maybe these people are just trying to lose weight and are not eating for body recomp goals? Maybe you should figure out there goals before you just…

Thanks to all of you. Next time I make, will for go the bouillons to really make as healthy as can be. I think I will look for a good broth base recipe and start there. I love the idea of freezing for later use.

I have encountered this with socks too. It makes a difference. Go get some good running socks and wear them for running only. I like the cushioned ones and unfortunately the cushion fades with time. With that said, last night I wore an old pair of my running shoes on the treadmill. They are so comfortable to walk around…

If you are new to running, I would not suggest running this distance as you will likely develop an injury. If you are a seasoned experienced runner, not sure that running 10 miles a day 7 days a week is very healthy. Most runners will have a day or two for recovery during the week.
-
Hi, I opened my food diary for you to take a peak. I think 02/04 I started tracking pretty regular... Maybe a day in there where I didn't finish. Last week, I thought I would try to do a couple days of low cal to see if I could jump start this weight loss. I will eat normal for a few days and see if it helped at all. I had…

After my workouts, usually a run of 5 miles or so. (I don't usually notice it when under 3 miles or when situps, pushups, etc are involved. I can actually see my stomach bloat for the next 10 - 12 hours and gain weight. The water weight then goes a way within the next day or two. I think gaining after a hard workout is…

Thanks I needed this. I have been only tracking for 3 weeks. 1st week lost about 3 pounds. 2nd week gained 2 pounds back, 3rd week down about 1 pound. (Lost 2 pounds in 3 weeks). The scale keeps changing on me. I know I am eating better than before and exercising more than before). I know there is room for improvement, but…
