  • I don't give up food for Lent anymore, since for me it does tend to become a diet rather than a chance to reflect and repent. I usually give up facebook and limit my screen time.
  • I'm a full-time mom, and I wouldn't do it any other way. It's worth making the sacrifices to swing it. As for everyone saying they missed adult conversation, that's what play dates are for! I get lots of time to talk to my other mom friends while our kids play.
  • I do it a couple of times a week and even after a couple months it's still tough. I use 5 pound weights. I think it's a great way to get a total body strength work-out, but I'm starting to think I need a more progressive work-out at this point.
  • You can wear baggy trunks or board shorts to work out. That's just silly. Either rock the speedo and who cares what ladies think, or you could get some of those long speedos they wear at the Olympics. Those are hot.
  • I say move up to Level 2 and see if you still don't feel challenged. Level 2 was a big step up from Level 1, I think. I've done both Shred and Ripped twice, and I will still do levels 3 and 4 respectively when I want a short, challenging work-out.
  • My plan is to try to keep the feasting to the actual holidays. So, Thanksgiving! But back on the wagon the day after Thanksgiving. And then, Christmas! But back on the wagon for Boxing Day. In my experience, it's not the holidays themselves, but the whole "season of indulgence" that kills me.
  • I think I really needed this post! I'm coming off of a month in which I thought I was doing pretty well with eating and exercise, but only lost one pound. My husband told me I should measure myself, because I look like I've slimmed down. The trouble is that I can't quite ignore the scale, because I do have a non-trivial…
  • I've done 30 Day Shred twice now, and to be honest, each level only got easier after I moved on to the next one and then came back and tried it again. I was able to move from modified to full versions of the exercises, but I never really felt like I had more endurance. So I'd say don't worry about that, and push on…
  • I'm 5'10, currently 204 pounds, 231 at my highest (post-pregnancy). Feel free to add me. I eat low carb, but I do try to stay under my calories as well.
  • I just did Day 4 Level 4, and although it is very, very hard, I find it much more do-able than Level 3. I DREADED doing Level 3 each morning and couldn't wait to be done with it forever. Even by the end, I wasn't able to fully do the duck walks, and I straight-up couldn't do the rock and roll jumping leg lift thingys. I…
